Afternoon all.
What a strange day it is being here, ds1 footy match called off ( which i was pleased about) got loads done this morning made cheesy bread rolls for dinner and prepared tea, did all the ironing and had a good old tidy up.
Was really in mood to carry on clean and went to drop dd off at her party so was hoping for 2 hours peace whilst i got on with my jobs, but got to party and the disco hadnt turned up so the hall was deathly silent, loads of babys everywhere so older kids didnt want to run around, the little girl whos birthday it is went to nursery with dd then changed school and it turned out dd was only one to be invited from the old nursery lot, so my dd didnt know anyone but the birthday girl, so dd decided she didntwant me to leave, sat down with her and a few parents asked who i was, when i explained about dd going to nursery with the birthday girl they replied oh she doesnt go to our school (which is a cathlic school) i repied no and they flipping turned there back on me and the didnt speak again, hour into party dd hadnt joined in any games and wouldt get anything to eat so i told mum of b/day girl i was going to take her home, and she was great about it....but what a flipping waste of my afternoon and such rude parents!!!!!
So iv picked up a bottle of wine on way home and am just starting my first glass, as its really put me in a bad mood!!!
Right off to look round the boards and carm down! lol

Hi everyone. Dlb that's a disgaceful way for the other parents to behave!!! I'm not surprised you're not happy about it. I would look upon it as you're probably better off without them anyway if they are so rude, and it's their loss not yours!!! Hope you enjoy your wine!GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Thanks tattycath, im carming down slowly, it just makes me laugh, this school that the children all go to is the most sort after school in the area, but if thats what the parents and children are like im so glad i never even considered my kids for that school!!!! ( bet crazychick can guess which school im on about, it has such a snobish reputation!!)
They look down on people who sent there kids to different school, and what is funny is it is the kids that go to the `snobish school`that you see hanging around causing trouble and that seem to have no manners!!!
Oh im off again, right wont talk or type about it no more or its going to wind me up even more!!!Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
I think I might actually be quite good at this moneysaving cookery lark
Last week I bought a pound of mince from the butcher for £2.00(I think) today I have used this, some lentils(approx 10p worth if that), some grated carrot and a jar of dolmio(found in back of the cupboard) and have made a huge pan(well 2 actually) of bolognaisey sauce stuff.
Have made a 6 portion lasagne and have 3 portions of bolognaise to freeze.
so 9 meals for about £4 tops once pasta is included.
Just hoping it tastes nice as I got a bit carried away with adding random herbs/oxo/tomato puree to the mix.
Mr Sparkle has never tasted lasagne or bolognaise before so hoping it's a success and we can add new meals to his very short 'acceptable foods' list. He apparently doesn't like carrots or lentils but I figured since he's never tasted lasagne before he won't know the difference if I sneak some in0 -
Well done you!
Have have bought some reduced mince today (2lb in total) and i have spent the afternoon cooking Cottage pie, Chilli, Bolognaise for the freezer.
I think in total i spent about £4 in total and got 9 meals.Sealed Pot Challenge #6010 -
Right iv turned my anger into a focus!! DD has asked if she can have her party at the church hall we have just been to.
Although her birthday isnt until Dec i feel i must do this for her all the boys had at home partys, and she must have at least one, instead of the getting to often wacky warehouse type thing.
I done a post on the special occasion boards (6th bithday) so if any of you have any ideas i would be very gratefull, it is such a shame that some kids never experience a `real` party, so i now have a mission for the year not only to give dd the best party ever but to show others parents it can be done with a little planning.
Let me know what you think?Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Hiya!
Happy Birthday Lillibet!!!
dlb Oh some people are so rude and not worth bothering about! I've done a couple of parties in halls for my girls. We had a bouncy castle at one, an entertainer at another and a disco at one. It would be cheaper if you did the music and/or entertainment yourself, but more hard work!
When you do the food you can buy the brown paper bags and decorate them with your dd, perhaps stick stickers on them or print shapes on them. Then just chuck in the food prepared by you. It makes it easier to transport the food to the venue too.
Well we never made it to church and I've felt guilty all day but we we'll be there next week.
A nice slow paced day here for us. After another lie-in and after reading the paper I briefly met my new next door neighbours. They haven't moved in yet but I knocked and said hello (being the nosey cow that I am) and they seem really nice, so that's a relief. My last neighbour was a really quiet old lady so I was worried that some property developer would get his mitts on the place!
I've stripped beds, done some washing and tidying and I've just got the ironing to do. I have spent a fair bit of time on here this afternoon as I've been watching my Ebay stuff selling/not selling so I'll have to wrap some parcels later as well.
Tonight's tea is hm lasagne from the freezer with hm potato wedges and carrots and then it's the last episode of Sense and Sensibility.
Have a good evening!0 -
Good for you! I'm sure he'll think it delicious -but don't be tempted to tell him until it's definitely on his favourites list.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
Success! He liked it though he did find it a bit rich, which is understandable as I did too, may have overdone the white sauce and cheese
Lasagne is now on the likes list :j will the spare 4 portions be ok in the freezer? Don't want to overdo it and make him eat it again tomorrow.
He also didn't notice the carrots or lentils, have told him about them and his theory is as he didn't notice them, they can stay in future batches
Now need to go find some lovely cake recipes as I'm going to reward him with cake for being a big boy and trying a new food0
