    Hello all,

tattycath Whatever paint you choose for your pantry, make sure you have a wipe clean finish!! I do, and boy was I glad when I dropped a whole bottle of soy sauce and it went all up the walls :)

Well, I feel rough as rats today. Didn't exactly feel brilliant last night, but have woken up with what feels like flu. Am so achy and completely worn out, and my temperature is al over the place. OH had to carry me to the loo this morning as I just could not get out of bed.
I was 3 hours late for work yesterday - despite having 4 alarms set for 4.30, I slept through all of them and woke up at 8.30 :(.

OH has friends coming over for dinner this avo, needless to say he is cooking. Think I might just go to bed and leave them to it.

Hope you all have a good day

How horrible for you Blairweech ((((hugs))))
I had that flu/ cold and felt really yuk for 2 or 3 days then it passed. Rest and drink lots. I had lucozade - hadn't had it for years but I really fancied it. i did make a mistake one evening and drank about half a pint before going to sleep. make that trying to sleep. i presume it must have caffeine? I was wide awake all night!

    :bdaycake: Happy Birthday Lillibet!

Okay, microwave has been cleaned, dishes washed, lunch eaten and now it's time to go shopping for freezer bags, scourer sponges and maybe a chicken (after reading the rubber chicken posts I've decided to see how long I can make one last- it's one of my favourite foods anyhow). I'm really scared but have my mp3 player so hopefully will manage it without having a panic attack.

Found £20 while tidying up my bedroom yesterday- no idea how it got there but since I'm skint it's useful (and is why I'm getting the chicken) :)

Later on I'm cataloguing my book, video and DVD collections, and I'm determind to write drafts to at least 3 DLA questions (runs out in April, so I have to get a move on, but they've only gone and changed the forms since last time!).

Flat is pretty much clean and tidy now, will ask support worker to vacuum tomorrow. Hope everyone is okay, and *squishes* to those who want them.

Thanks Blairweech, that's a brilliant idea!!! Well, we've got half of the last bedroom wall done. The last owner had chipwood wallpaper on the wall and it's difficult to get off (for want of a better, more appropriate turn of phrase)!!! Just gonna have a well earned cup of coffee and a break!! Hope you are all ok

Pen-Pen - sympathies to DH - I used to travel for work and I know these trips sound marvellous, but are not all they seem to be. I hate hotels with a vengence, hence why we got this place, prefer to look after ourselves and be able to relax. Restaurant meals for B-L-D are fine, but boy do you look forward to having beans on toast at home.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=5005should help you. You can change the location and then link to the 10 day forecast on the first link. It is fine in day and in the sun, but the evenings/nights do turn chilly. I think you feel it more because it is warm in the day. Bring a coat/cardi's for the evenings. I have just taken two photos now 4.20 pm to let you see some sun and blue skies, which make you feel better anyway, but it seems photobucket is not great with a dial up connection. If they make it I'll give you the link later. - It got there.

Happy Birthday to the birthday girls.

You busy people are making me feel slightly guilty - but DH is asleep on the settee as he's not too well, so better I don't disturb him.

Pooky - We won't ask what you've been doing to receive the "stay in bed darling treatment";)

    Catch you later.

Afternoon to everyone. I didn't get a chance on here yesterday because DH and I decided to really sit down and re-work our finances and, of course, it took ages. I need to get back to meal-planning and I've set a limit of £60 a week for all food and cleaning materials and I will definitely not go over that. DH has just gone out to get fuel for his car for work tomorrow so I'll add his spend in to that brilliant spending diary that was recommended on here (I'm so sorry, I can't remember now who posted the link). It really does help to see what has been spent and I've got DH interested in it as well.

Last night we had good friends over for a drink and today it has taken me ages to get going on things today due to the mild hangover! I did manage to cook our roast dinner by lunchtime so we're just having cake and custard for tea, then an early bath, then watch Sense and Sensibility, while I hopefully finish the little doll I'm knitting for DGD's birthday, then bed. I need to get the doll finished because my new Let's Knit magazine has given me some more projects that I can't wait to start. I must use up my mountain of wool before I am tempted to buy any more!

Happy Birthday to LILLIBET and HEATHER. Hope you are both having wonderful days.

(((Hugs))) to all those who are unwell. These bugs are hanging on, aren't they?

The weather here is cold, windy and looks like rain so I'm glad I don't have to go out in it.

Well, I have only skimmed today's thread and not read yesterday's at all so I will try and catch up with the news later. I must go now and do my menu-plan and see how many meals I have without having to do any shopping this week.

    See you all later.

    Afternoon guys

Had a bit of a slow start this morning, what with the omnibus of a certain soap. Since then, I have cleaned my bedrooom, done a lot of decluttering and binning, scrubbing, dusting and hoovering and can arrogantly say I have the cleanest bedroom in Crawley! 4 loads of washing have been put away and all is well in my household!

Dishwasher is on, dinner is in the oven - just me for dinner tonight so pie, mash & veg - will prob do roast later on in the week for me and daughter. Lounge could do with a tidy and hoover and will prob do that later. My plans for this evening is to sit down with a cup of tea and fnish off my friend's mum's DLA form... sounds like a treat huh?!

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

Wouldn't you just know it !! OH had his week planned out sorting out our kitchen..........walls need washing down etc. and now he's had a phone call to say he's needed for work.................his works a bit hit and miss depending on shop sales and whether his boss has bought anymore furniture for him to 'renovate'.............thought he'd got the whole month clear but no.....come Tuesday Wednesday Thursday he'll be off.
He says he'll do as much as he can tomorrow.............then it'll all come to a standstill.
And I'm in charge of cooking !!!!!!!
