The open uni would fund you to do a course. I also qualified for internet grant and new computer grant, and you do not have to pay it back unless you leave the course for no good reason, personal reason they are ok.

If you look on there site it has a list of courses they do.

You get sent the books you need and audio and dvds to watch which go with your course. There is a tutorial once a month near where ever you are, these you do not have to attend, but can be helpful. You get a booklet which tells you what your next essay is going to be, and it gives you a outline on what they want you to do. You get a study guide which tells you what bits to read or listen to each week, which helps you to keep on top of things. You send off your essay to your tutour who then returns it to you marked. The course i am doing is 50% course work, and I have a exam in june for 3hours which will give me a mark for the other 50%..

I think it would be good for you as it is something you can do at home, so you wouldnt have to be surrounded by people.

on the other hand if you wanted to go to college and you are on Benefit which also like you I hate you shold qualify for a free course place, and free travel allowance. As I got that when I did my Pre acess to higher education certificate.

Thats really good, well done. I am going to look into it and see what courses they have. At the moment apart from when my son is at school I get no me time as he doesnt sleep till Im actually asleep.he has sleeping problems at the mo and we are both suffering but i know it wont be like this forever. I feel for my son as he has to get up for school.

I would prefer to study from home as im not ready to go out into the real world yet,I shoudl really but the course I wanted to do is full time and I have no one to help me with childcare.I better go bed in a bit as little one will not sleep.Ive tried lying down with him till he sleeps and when he does if i leave he senses it and wakes up.

So what is the site I should check?

Thanyou you are kind too. You sound just like how I was and it has taking years to find me again, and not quite there yet but I am nearly there just need to work again and then I am done.

We nearly lost my house as he said one day when he came in, and you get the atmosphere as soon as they walk in. I am going to live here, I am going to eat here and I aint going to stop seeing the other woman, and I aint going to pay a effing thing, and as I am on the tenancy there is nothing you can do about it and laughed. So had to go to court and fight for my house, and beg the council more time as the rent was falling behind.

The best revenge you can get on an Ex is to get a life as they hate seeing you coping without them.

My ex also does that I want my family back speech when he has no money or Gf and no matter how many times I say no he will not go away. Maybe the judge tomorrow will send him away for me.

I will help you Diamond to find a course, keep fighting and dont let him anywhere near you. And I will do the same with mine.

Its the open university site. Sorry I do not know how to do links otherwise I would do one for you. some start in feb and again in sept-oct.

You are doing a wonderful job, you son will settle down when he has a rountine and is settled, you have both been through so much and most people would have given up, you havent you are a fighter and so is your son.

I hope the judge actually realises what a rat he is and that bhe needs to be locked up. I have moved on from the x but he tries to stop me, he thinks just coz he works hes the boss but I know he wont go far in life.he will beat the wrong person up oneday and he will get what he deserves. Even when I stopped smoking this year he tried everything to get me to smoke and he sucseded but im now totally smoke free and proud.When he told me to eff off a few weeks back he said haha go and by ur fags coz ul never do it, huh i never and im happier now.I gave up 2 years ago(ive always been skinny due to eating disorder) but i put on a healthy weight when i stopped and was a size 10 but he accused me of being pregnant which made me start smoking again.This time im not as I have promised my son im not going to.

I would so like to get on with my life but till his out of my life completly I know I have to watch my back. He is big and has a very heavy hand, im short and little and has done so much that I know what he is capable of. But Im the winner as I have nothing to loose, I have fought and will carry on fighting to be a great p arent to my child so when my son is older he can be proud of me being a great role model and parent for him.

I cant even have a relathionship with another man,, after nealry 5 years of being single i met a guy and my ex started watching my then home and then following my then bfriend.Well it never lasted with that guy I was with due to many reasons but I know oneday I will meet a nice guy who will respect me and treat me how a woman should be treated.And that oes to everyone whos been mistreated by a loved one badly.let me know how the court case goes. Justice will be done either way-nite nite xx

I am here. I recently started a new training course through the Jobcentre and although I am only doing part time hours, I am knackered by the time I get home everyday.

Im not sure where everyone is gone. I havent been on for a while, sorry!!!

I have been a bit down lately, had rows with spermdonor and his mother.God give me strength!!! They are really messing with my sons head. Anyway, apart from that I have been trying to get my health checked out as Ive nt been feeling well.Im so tired all the time, not sleeping well and my eating has gone all weird again.

I renewed my membership with gingerbread so waiting for the magazin ect to come through and also my membership number to see what activities they have this year. If there are any special offers like chessington we should all go and we can meet up, it will be nice, fir the kids and us. When I have taken my son places in the past, i felt like crying as i would look around and see kids with family, like grandparents ect. It still upsets me which is why i try not to go anywhere.It seems weird just me and my son and i feel ppl look at us and think theres another single parent-like its not normal.

Regardless of being a mum or dad, single parents are singled out and looked at differently and its not fair.

Hello jembie.Well done for starting your new course. What are you studying? Im sure its making you knackered. I have an interview next week with the local adult education so I can do a childcare course, its one day a week and i have to do 2 days at a school voluntarily which is cool by me so shall see how the interview goes.

Hope all mums and dads are good and looking forward to the holidays.I need a sleep in.have been getting up early everyday for over 6 years now lol-could so do with a sleep in till 12 and not do anything. Why cant some one take care of us.

its valentines day soon, thats not making me feel any better, not that I want someone but it does again make you feel singled out and left out again for those that dont have a partner.

Im sure when the time is right my soul mate will pop in front of my eyes and treat me like a princess-or is that in stories only???

I am taking a business admin course at a local training for work centre. I want to retrain to expand my chances of getting a job. The centre also gives workshops in looking for work as well as having a dedicated day each week when all we do is jobsearch.
It is great as I have had my CV totally overhauled and they are really good at motivation.
The actual coursework is quite heavy going but I am enjoying getting back into a social situation with a routine and lots of adult company

You should be proud of what your doing and achieving hun. Im hoping to start my classroom assistant course end of febuary but feel a bit scared as have been out of the public eye since i was 3 months pregnant. I have an interview for the course nxt week but its quite scary in a way. I suppoe its a natural thing once you have been out of work for so long.

Gingerbread are okish.I only use there service if the yhave any special offers for days out which has only been chessington so far. I only went once and didnt go to the meeting point where they all met coz I was anxious and dunno didnt think anyone would be there lol...I have never been to any of the meetings as there has never been any local enough for me to go.

Hope all of you had a nice weekend today and enjoyed the lovely weather,i was stuck indoors, it was colder indoors than out but i took my son football training in the morning so least we done 1 thing lol.

Its horrible when you have no where to go, we do go park sometimes but it can be boring sometimes. I wish I had a car, so we could jus drive off somewhere,anywhere just away from the flat and area.
