    Hiya!

A late one from me again today.

    Happy Birthday heather38 !!!!!

Crazychick Your exOH sounds like a right selfish pig! Your kids were so patient to wait that long to be fed.

I had a bit of a lie-in this morning as DH took DD1 to orchestra and I even got a cuppa in bed! So I stayed in bed for a while and sorted out my finances.;)

Then we went to see my MIL and made lunch for her and did a few jobs and a bit of shopping. We had frozen (hm) chilli, rice and nan bread for our tea and DH has gone to a surprise 60th birthday party for one of his work friends. My parents usually babysit for us but as they're in OZ I'm staying in with the girls tonight. I didn't really fancy going out and I'm jumping in the bath in a mo. Oh I'm such a party animal NOT!
    Have a good evening!

    Hi everyone,
Happy birthday Heather38 :bdaycake: Hope you have/ had a great day!

Nelski - that hotel food sounds really horrendous and soooo expensive

Well here i am again sat at work and i`ve had a very busy day.
The shopping delivery came and i had to send a few things back and i was charged for delivery by mistake so i`ll have to wait and see what the final total will be.
I sent the chicken back as they sent me ordinary chicken when i asked for free range and i even put a note on the order saying i only wanted free range or organic.
I`m going to do this all the time now or go without, DH and i had a good talk about it last night.
I`ve hoovered and dusted downstairs and also dusted upstairs and DH has done the upstairs hoovering whilst i am at work and a few other little jobs that i asked him to do.
I wish i was at home curled up in front of the telly with a good book *sigh*
Aw well only another couple of hours and a bit to go.
Enjoy whats left of the evening folks!

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

  • Hi everyone. I'm very new on here, but really hooked! I hope you're all well and not suffering too much with the bad weather. We haven't had any snow yet, but lots of rain. I've had a busy day, starting off with getting the washing machine busy and cleaning the cooker. In between, I nipped the car to the garage for it's MOT, which it failed on one brake light. :rotfl:Then I had to take my son to the hairdresser's. After lunch, we had a nice drive to Raglan to collect a clotheshorse (courtesy of Freecycle), part of my economy and environmentally friendly drive, and I was asked if there was anything else the lady was getting rid of that I could use, so I was also given a large whiteboard. Not sure whether I'll use it for work or at home, but certainly handy. We then called at DS's girlfriend's for coffee as they've both been to unwell to see each other this week, then took OH's laptop to my brother to sort the operating system (resident techy). Finally came home and put the dinner on while I dusted and tidied the lounge. Since dinner I've washed the kitchen floor and I'm trying to make up my mind whether to tackle the ironing mountain or put my feet up and do a bit of knitting, but I think the knitting's winning. If I'm lucky, OH will do some ironing tomorrow when he's get back from his shooting weekend. I've got to work tomorrow. I don't usually work Sundays but my colleague only started last Monday and is running my candidates this week while I do signups, so we have to sort out the lesson plans together. Fortunately, we worked together at our previous company, know each other really well and she's my bezzy mate too!!! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend. Starting on Monday, I will be really trying to work in Flylady mode. Thank you all for the inspiration, motivation and support I'm getting from you all!:T

    Evening All

11.30pmish here. DH took to his bed around 6.30 pm with his Man Flu, but in honesty he cannot be at all well as we were cooking dinner as he went and refused it. He's just had a bowl of rice pudding and a hot lemon (flu strength) so hope he goes back off again. He's still under threat of death if I get it.

Happy Birthday Heather38, and welcome to Zak.

Anniestar - What are you like at a bit of spring cleaning and emulsioning? Not forgetting preparing meals and washing up?

Pen-Pen - it would be nice to meet up when I get back, hopefully it will be warmer then.

Right - off to play nurse - (or lie there reading feigning sympathy!)

I have bought the cotton, but no I haven't started the dishcloth yet. I blame stefejb, I'm knitting socks:rotfl: Reading of all the socks she was knitting, I got a terrible desire to knit some:rolleyes: I bought the yarn and needles on Thursday and have almost finished one sock:j It's self patterning yarn, a bit bright, but so what:rotfl: I'm just wondering how you ensure the second one looks the same as the first, iyswim? Or perhaps it just doesn't matter, well in my case it probably won't:o

.... well it depends on the pattern really. By the time you are halfway down sock 1 you will get a feel for how often the pattern repeats and whether it matters to have the socks the same. Some of the yarn i have been using is a broad stripe so then I will start with the same colour on the second sock. Some of the yarn, however, is a much more random affair so i don't bother. If you follow the pattern that came with the yarn you will have plenty left over so running out shouldn't be a problem.

I'm back btw - got in about half an hour ago but was too cold to type - something went wrong with the boiler which was on a low setting so the house is frozzed. I did try to get online to send a big HELLO FROM HEILOO (north Holland) but no luck. Great trip ending in a big party to celebrate ddad's 65th, ddad's wife's 50th and their wedding in august. dbro wrote and performed a song, the kids made a filmed sketch of the happy couple's life, live music from an irish band and a free bar - bliss. Not very moneysaving - dd18 borrowed £200 from me on the basis of an insurance thingy that my ddad has been doing which has matured but now she is not getting the money until next month so things will be very s t r e t c h e d this month

not read the whole thread yet so big hugs to any poorlies among us
