  • Hi again

Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to Heather 38. Hope you have a lovely day.

Crazychik even if XDH doesn't reply, I would be sending a text saying that I expect the children to be fed when he has them. 8-9 hours is too long for children to go without eating.

Nelski those prices are horrendous! I'm assuming that you can reclaim the cost through expenses or somesuch but even so, If the quality was Michelin-starred I could understand it, but it didn't really sound like that.
Churchmouse you wouldn't be knitting a dishcloth would you? ;)
My washing basket is empty. :j Dishes are done and I have been tidying around downstairs. Looks better.

Decided I would start making the twinks only to find that I have no SR flour. So I'm off to do a search to see if I can use plain flour and bicarbonate of soda or baking powder or something. Will make some lentil soup too while I'm at it. Mince is defrosting for the lasagne and I think I will have enough to make some spag bol too without having to open another pack.

    Bye for now. xx

I've cleared the bedroom but no painting yet. :o

I'm so sad about it. He was a lovely man and I just thought I'd let you know in case any of you wanted to pay your respects on the thread. It's amazing how a bit of banter with someone can make you feel like you know them well and this really is more than just a virtual world.

Take care all and RIP Joe. xxx

I have bought the cotton, but no I haven't started the dishcloth yet. I blame stefejb, I'm knitting socks:rotfl: Reading of all the socks she was knitting, I got a terrible desire to knit some:rolleyes: I bought the yarn and needles on Thursday and have almost finished one sock:j It's self patterning yarn, a bit bright, but so what:rotfl: I'm just wondering how you ensure the second one looks the same as the first, iyswim? Or perhaps it just doesn't matter, well in my case it probably won't:o

Oh my - I have a major book crisis, only one side of the bedroom done so far and not even ventured into the loft. 20 bags to take to the charity shop (that's 7 X 15 minute trips on foot), 3 bags so far to return to friends, about 300 books to find a home for in the meantime because I want to keep them. I'll see if DH will drive me to Oxfam when he gets back and hover in a side-turning so I can just ferry them across. Sneezing badly because of all the dust.

    penpincher--glad you had a better night:D

    penpen--sorry about your redundancy:mad:

crazychix----I bet the kids were starving, tell him he has to feed them next time or you won't allow them to visit

No funny dreams last night, but oh keeps doing my head in, he keeps waking up early, since he stopped smoking:mad: then he starts talking to the dog at 7 am!!! I was really looking forward to a sleep in, I could kill him. The worst thing is that come 3pm, he will be fast asleep in the chair:eek: you would never believe that he is only 38;)

Home made soup for lunch and pork chops for tea:T

    ok, off to surf

    love dorry xxxxxxxxxxx

  • I'd be fuming, too, crazychick! I'd tell him in no uncertain terms that he doesn't get to see them unless he's prepared to look after them properly and feed them.

Foot is sore, had a sort-of shower today wiht a plastic bag taped to my foot........... not completely watertight.

DH has now gone to get the bakeware, so I've got a couple of hours to myself.

Thought I'd get some advice from you OSers. Our food budget is £400 (or £90 a week then £10 for Christmas food saving). So far this month we've spent £62 :j
So would it be really naughty to spend £20 on a Chinese for my dad's birthday this weekend?

    Good afternoon all!
Happy Birthday Heather! Hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
PenPen - really sorry to hear your news, hope something gets sorted for you.
Gemmzie - it's your Dad - spend it! Really miss mine (been gone 19 years this year) so wish I had the opportunity.
Today I finally feel better, even with the cough which still sounds horrendous. Hair appt. first thing, Tesco shop done, washing done but not yet in drier, BM on, HM soup and wraps for lunch. Need to take dogs out for a long walk now (cold but really bright here). Meal out this evening.
(((HUGS))) to all who need one today. Take care.

thanks HJ just been reading myself (loads more tributes in Nellys place as well if anyone goes there)

Really puts the WMs, DWs BMs toilet cleaning and knitting into some kind of perspective eh

He had lots of internet friends though and all the messages must be a comfort for his poor family
    RIP Skint1
