Good morning, everyone!
Took DD to see St Trinians after school yesterday - was OK, and I was able to rest my eyes on Colin Firth :j Came home and rested my eyes on James McAvoy in Starter for 10 on DVD - really enjoyed that, especially Mark Gattis as a spookily similar Bamber Gascoigne
Off skiing at the snow dome later, then a meal out courtesy of Mr T's tokens. DH is of to China at silly o'clock tomorow morning for a week
Mrs Mix - I was in the office yesterday and noticed the FreePhone helpline number for assistance with completing DLA forms - shout up if you'd like it.
Thanks for asking, Donny - I was given my redundancy notice yesterday, so I have zero hours as of 1st April   We now start a period of consulting between the Trustee Board and employees, so I'm hoping for more than thatLuckily, the hens are starting to lay, so we can meet once you're back in Yorkshire, and I'll let you have some :T
Catch you all later, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Hi Penelope
I may well take you up on that I took them out of the envelope had a look put them back and burst into tears
pam xxI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you
I am one of the English sexy Shelias
I'm also a hussy0 -
Good morning everyone,
PP - glad you had a good night.
Penpen - hope your meeting at work the other day went well xx - just read your post, sorry about the redundancy, hope you are able to get some hours xx
Taplady/snowy - take care on those roads xx
mrsmix - hope you are feeling better and get something done xx
N9eav - good luck with any bargains!!! hope the cough improves - amazing how many people catch something after a holiday!!!
Going to have a really lazy day today - football was cancelled, due to the weather (actually looking fine out at the moment, but im sure it could rain at any minute, no frost tho!!) so we have no reason to go out, so although i do have some housework to do (BM already on, WM about to) im staying in my pjs and taking my time!!!
Might do some baking with DD, but dont class that as work - will see what she wants to do. DS came home from his club early last night with a really bad headache, this happens every few months, because the silly child will not go to sleep at night, and every now and again it catches up on him. He was in bed by 7 and woke up this morning feeling fine, so pleased about that, will prob have a few days now where he will go to sleep nicely, then he will forget how he felt and he will be staying awake again - men, you can never tell them!!!
Right, think i might go and get some breakfast - hope everyone has a lovely day.
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning everyone!
We are off to the London Boat Show soon at the Excel (just down the road from me) - Looking round all those FAB boats that I cant afford!:rotfl: but its good fun and the kids like it too, just got to make our lunch. They have the Exeter warship there - but they are so tricky getting up and down those narrow stairwells etc!! They have a live webcam on the boatshow site.
Sorry some of you have got icy roads today - we have got a lovely sunny day here in the Capital.
Got some fab bargains at sainsburys yesterday, because our one is very quiet due to tesco/asda taking most of the trade - good fruit & veg, bread stuff & rolls etc -seeing as Asda dont seem to reduce much nowadays I think I shall be popping along there more often!!
Watched Jamie's prog, sad to watch the male chicks:o
Snowy - glad to see you've not been consumed by the TV!:D
N9eav - Welcome back!
Off to hobnob with the poshies now, see ya!! xxx0 -

National Benefits Enquiry Line - 0800 88 22 00. They'll assist with any questions you have. It's a real pity that we don't live closer - I'd happily fill it in for you :grouphug:
Couple of points to remember: the DLA form can be really demoralising, as it concentrates on what you CAN'T do. Bear that in mind when you're filling it in, though, keep in mind how you are on a bad day, and keep writing in what you are unable to do. If you're turned down for the benefit - definitely appeal. DLA (and Attendance Allowance) have the highest rate of being overturned and awarded at appeal.
Do you have a CAB or other advice agency who can assist you?
Do PM me if you need further help, and the very best of luck :A
Edit - forgot to mention, we have HM soup for lunch, and I'm trying an onion bread recipe - the dough is proving, and I have onions caramelising on the stove.

my DH had to fill in his mum's form the other day too! Also the contractor phoned to say they couldnt come and start her shower on Monday as the council didnt have the money!:o so DH went down and had a go at them, they didnt even bother to phone and explain. So now she has to wait until the new financial year.
Needless to say she was in tears too!0 -
Morning all - had a rotten night; finally got to sleep at 5.00am when I decamped to the back bedroom away from the snoring gruffalo in bed with me. Then Cat no 6 trod on my head and chest until I gave in and got up at 8.00am.
Did major decluttering and cleaning yesterday right up to midnight (including the scary spot behind the armchair which had 2 guitars, 3 duffel bags, a beaded coat, 6 miscellaneous electrical leads, an unwanted videocam, an old electric shaver, an old lamp that I then got working, chocolate wrappers, a dried slug, you name it). I have a load of books in carrier bags to walk up to the charity shop, so I'll do shuttle journeys all day on that - by the time I've sorted the bedroom books as well we could be talking 15-20 visits so that's a lot of exercise! I was going to put some stuff aside for Amazon/Ebay but now I just want it out of my sight so it's all going to Oxfam.
DH has a physio appointment, then is going to buy new tyres for the car, so he'll be out of my hair for a large chunk of the day. Tonight's dinner is chicken curry.0 -
Morning everyone. I am awake bright and early to get to the dentist
hopefully won't need anything doing. Won't have to pay either way I don't think as pregnant but hoping for no work, I find it all rather unpleasant!! Heading to the bank today to deposit some cash rather than carry it around. Will make a nice warm soup for lunch from parsnips, butternut squash and sweet potato and OH and I are off to the cinema tonight to see the kiterunner. Looking forward to it.
Should imagine they'll be a great deal of housework too! And the new washing machine is coming today! Hooray. Last one broke new year and worked out better to buy new. Looking forward to emptying the laundry basket (or cardboard box - note to self... buy laundry basket!!)
Have a good day!0 -
Morning everyone,
I`m just about to start my third cuppa.
I woke really early and have tried to got back to sleep but i can`t so i`ll be tired later on.
It`s shift change day today so i`m not working until this afternoon.
The wm and dw have both been on and i need to use some frozen bread so the bm wasn`t needed last night.
I`m off to empty the 2 machines and see how much i can get done before the shopping delivery arrives.

SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

its been frosty all week here but the roads are usually well gritted, must wash the car this weekend and get the salt off the underneath
the flowers i got from the dgs's at christmas are still looking good, then the girls at work gave me flowers after the funeral, its funny how things come in threes as my cousin came over last night with a bunch to thank me for the help i gave him

hugs to all xx0
