Frogga, Frogga Frogga... we all love you as you are, but if you are happier smaller you know what to do.
Do you know I think if we could each lose weight for eachother instead of for ourselves we would be much better at it. If my eating reflected on you I'd be much better for you than I am for me... sorry don't know where that came fromoff at a tangent again!!
Anyway my green friend 5 good days one bad day is not a bad ratio, how about trying to make 6 or 7 good days before the next attack? Who knows maybe double figures one day;)
Anyway enough is enough !!!!!! or you will sink the next lilly pad you land on and then there will be trouble:eek:0 -
Thanks Nixy MrsM andSaversarn :A You're right, I'm well and truly kicked, thankyou xx and thanks for your wise words xx and yes, do'nt freek guys MrsM knows exactly what to say
I feel better now, I've took the dogs for a quick run accross the field, the sun was shining and the wind was blowing against my face and I thought, life is good, and it is easy to loose it as I've lost it before (several times  ) so I can do it and it wasn't actually THAT hard, the thinking about getting there is worse than the actuallygetting there.
Now going to peel all the veggies for tea, then it will be time to go and get Tadpole 2 and then it will be food timebut not piggy time
Anyway I have to stop this as I wont be allowed on the "loose weight " thread , I'll have to start a "stay fat you greedy pig thread" wont I?Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Hi All
Sorry to hear about your bad evening Frogga but as the others are saying all you can do is to just keep trying. At least weight does drop off when you do try - it is really frustrating when you are good all the time and nothing seems to happen.
I have been tired all day after an early morning phone call. We have a new wireless Skype phone that we are not used to and somehow I ended up pressing the wrong buttons and calling the last number dialled. It was my ex mother in law who I'd had to contact last night about something - and of course in England it was an hour earlier than here. We had a really peculiar conversation with us both half asleep and me thinking she'd called me, whilst she of course had just been woken up by me instead. Couldn't get back to sleep so now am feeling really tired.
We've had a busy few hours trailing round a massive Spanish industrial estate trying to find a certain shop we'd been told about. We have been asked by the apartment owner to find a combination microwave oven to replace the conventional microwave. It has been really difficult to find anything but think we sourced one finally just as all the shops shut for the afternoon siesta.
I succumbed to a cappucino cream dessert last night but was good otherwise. I ended up cooking Tagliatelle Carbonara for the main course. Today's food as follows.
B: Muesli etc with skimmed milk. Pineapple juice.
Lunch: Freshly baked baguette (one third for me, two thirds for OH) filled with mashed up egg. Yoghurt.
Tea: No idea yet.

Hi all,
Just checking in with todays goals :

L Lettuce, cucumber, carrot, little of grated cheese, few quorn chicken pieces, grapes, half piece wholemeal bread with scraping of butter. Mini bottle diet lemonade.
S Chopped cucumber and carrot with a few grapes. Lots of water.
D Pretty much the same as lunch, with a few extra quorn pieces and a can of pepsi max instead. Low sugar jelly. Apple and satsuma.
S 2 ryvitas with dairylea light. (and possibly a creme egg!)
Im on my last few days at work this wee, thank god! I work till 4-11 so my eating is slightly erratic. Come 11pm thursday night, im free! 7 days off to make proper meals from the tons of food in my freezer
I kind of messed up a little yesterday as had super healthy meals and snacks, then when i got in there was a HUGE pancake waiting for me and it seemed rude not to eat it with lemon juice and sugar, and then somehow i ingested a piece of buttery toast and 2 chocolate biscuits  Must try harder!
Frogga, i can understand how you are feeling. As well as trying to shift the weight for myself, i want to do it for my boy. I want to be able to take him to school without worrying that someone will make a comment about my size. You really are the only person who can change your life.
I live by 2 sayings
'If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got'
and
'This too shall pass'.
They have got me through many a tough situation!
You have the support of everyone here, just bellow if you're feeling the strain. Someone is always on here! xxBack and ready to save some money!0 -
Frogga - consider yourself well and truly kicked up the backside
Back on the wagon today please
I'm struggling this afternoon.
Lunch didn't fill me so I ate the yoghurt I brought and I've just had a packet of Go Ahead biscuits with a cuppa but I'm starving.........I've got some fruit with me which I'll eat before my class so hopefully won't be tempted to go to the shop....Think I need to kick MYSELF up the proverbial.......:rotfl:

Hi folks
I'm staying with my friend in Trichy, Southern India for 10 days. She cooks vegetarian without dairy products so I have been enjoying healthy food, mostly rice and curried vegetables.
It is hot here and only their winter time!! I've been swimming in the Bay of Bengal, absolutely wonderful.
The curries that are made at home do not have much fat in them. It is only the UK manufacturers who put loads of fat in because it is cheap.
Well, I can tell you home-made curry is cheap..... and delicious.
We had a genuine Indian take-away today. We had climbed to the top of the Rock Fort in Trichy and it was a splendid sight. Hot and tiring but good exercise.
We bought the take away and brought it home. The biriani was wrapped in banana leaf and newspaper and tied up with string. The curry was in a small polythene bag, with the neck tied up with cotton thread, then wrapped in newspaper.
After we had finished the meal (using only our right hand to eat) the banana leaf and scrapings were put outside the front door so the goats could eat it.0 -
Hi
I am a fellow OSer and wondered if I could get some inspiration/motivation from you guys. Im the heaviest ive been since I was in uni which was about 6 years ago. Im not 100% sure why to be honest but think its due to the lack of motivation and the treats I have at weekends. I dont have to lose much really but my self esteem is very low.
The situation is I now work 9 hours a day and so im eating a bit more than previously. Here is what I currently have during the day at work, its always the same though and I believe the sandwich could do with some drastic improvement!
250ml smoothie
Low fat yoghurt with tbsp granola
Hm oat biscuit (only one)
Handful white grapes
One round cheese and chutney on granary bread. I use medium cheddar.
I tried having tuna but figured the mayo could be worse for me, also tried pasta but I only like white pasta cold and it made me really sleepy. I cant have choclate at work as it has the same effect. I need something really easy to make though. Any suggestions?
For tea I have my pet meals - ratatoiulle with 2 slices bacon, grate of cheese and 1/2 pitta, spag bol with beef mince and wholemeal pasta, soup with a small roll, or white pasta and roasted veg. I have various other things I rustle up but im finding my enthusiasm for cooking is definately waning now I work such a long day and im so hungry by the time I get home. Help!
Ideas for cook ahead meals would be good. I love things like casseroles but im not a huge meat eater. I would eat more fish but I generally eat organically and find this incredibly expensive and im trying to save a bit of money right now :-(0 -
M.E. - Quick, go out and buy a notebook and get your friend to write down all these lovely recipes.
Even one would be smashing. I collect recipes like others collect antiques.
Likklegib- Well done to you. 4lb whole lbs gone. :T :T
Frogga - been sitting here ages trying to think of something other than 'hugs'. But basically what else can I say. I weigh a couple of stone more than you even after losing a bit of weight so far.
I know what it feels like to have eves like that one, lots of them over the years... to sit crying thinking 'if only I could have pills instead of food'... or worse, 'they'd be better off without me and my unhappiness.'
All I know is that I keep trying, badly most of the time, but I never give up. A switch seems to have flipped recently and its not just about dropping some weight, I'm suddenly getting loads of confidence WHILE STILL NEARLY 21 STONE. I thought I could only feel like this at 10st!
Years of hearing my mum say 'when this and after that I'll......' just made me think that if at 75 you still put your life on hold whats the flammin' point. I won't do it. I can't put my life on hold anymore and I think the only reason I did for so many years is because I was too proud, too worried what people thought.
Mrs Doyle - those two sayings are ones that I too love... closely followed by the ones the kids used to say from The Lion King.. "It don't matter, tis in the past."
Oh and when it comes to worrying about what kids think about our weight, we could be surprised. I asked DS1 if it embarrassed him. (he's painfully blunt). He looked surprised and told me no, he didn't really think about it...... however he then took the opportunity to tell me a list as long as your arm of the things that did bother him.. including my singing when his mates were round. Can't think why that would embarrass him.
Am cheating for tea and have bought my tortillas.Tired from walking and intending a hot bath and a long eve x-stitching.
Congrats to all those doing their best (in whatever form that may be) and wishing us all success.
