Yep she's back. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Third and final post.. honest.
I would do exactly the same, should I be capable of losing that much. I know myself... some treats are a must and NOTHING banned.
Friday nights is now cheese and biccies night, (cheddar with chocolate cherries and bowland cheese on krakerwheat. Yum!) I just don't go berserk and I'm happy with that.
Weekend - pork pie salad. Love it and just have smallish slice of really good quality one.
Its worked so far and as the saying goes... don't fix whats not broken.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £110.19/ £250

Right well I am back. I lurk, and I have good intentions but I never get started... I think "well I better finish off what's in the goodie cupboard before I start my diet".
Anyway two things have happened this week. First of all at work I was sat at another secretary's desk doing up her post book and one of the partners came in to use the colour printer and saw me at Shona's desk and said "Blimey Shona you've gained weight".. (she's skinny as a rail) some other secretaries overheard which was just AWFUL and I broke down, later, on my own, didn't let him see....
And then this morning my DS who is just three said "Mummy you're fat". He's just learning about big and small and tall and stuff so maybe I shouldn't have let it bother me (he calls a double decker bus a fat bus, for example) but he's not wrong.
I am SOOOO depressed about being this size (20/22) got a holiday booked for me and DS and my wonderful Mum in September and I feel like cancelling.
Anyway. Better do something about it. I hate porridge but I think I heard that you can just soak the oats overnight and not cook it is that right? If I do that I could add extra water and fruit and drink it like a smoothie... the texture of porridge makes me vomit but it's a good rib-sticker might stop me snacking...
help, ladies, I can't go on like this. I even contemplated going down the medication route, just buying it on the internet. I don't really want to though, what if there is a medical reason I shouldn't and I don't know about it?? I could be one pill away from a heart attack for all I know. I've got zero willpower until I start to see results, that is the problem, if I could get over the first fortnight.... How the hell am I going to do this??0 -
Morning one and all
hello Sallyrsm..... and welcome on board :T
don't panic... and NO cancelling that holiday.... September is 7 months away...plenty of time to get to grips with this weight loss malarky:D ... and you have a great target to aim for...that jolly with your little one and your mum should help encourage you along;)
Don't be going down the drastic route of tablets..as you say heaven knows what side efects they could have  ..and thats before you think of the cost
I think that the thing most of us on here agree on -is that we aren't "dieting"...ooooh the "D" word just makes me shudder:p ...
I have just decided to think that no foods are banned -if i want them i have them..and because of that...most of the time i don't want choc, crisps, and the likes.. but im still eating HM bread, pastry etc
cooking from scratch where possible helps too (although i have always done that-im just eating sensible portions at last)...
im sure you will get loads of hints n tips on here..we are a fairly mad bunch though -so you have been warned....
Morning everyone else too...
Hubby has gone golfing so i have whipped through our bedroom and bathroom, changed the bedding and sorted out the mess that he creates in a morning :rotfl:- Had porridge with sultanas and nuts for brekkie,
- lunch -if i have some (still stuffed from brekkie) will be krisprolls and cream cheese
- and dinner is roast chicken, hm stuffing (using some HM sausage meat:drool: ) steamed potatoes, carrots, broccoli and peas yumyum
think im going to settle down on the sofa and get some x stitch done... well i have done my jobs for today-well -just want to re-jig the freezers later as im sure if i do i will find a bit more space -just incase i spot anymore healthy "whoopsies" you understand
-its mainly meat and stuff i have made in there... including 4 free range chickens down to about €2.50 each :T ..i have one roasting for dinner..we could live on chicken so i WILL find more space if they have any tomorrow :rotfl:
right ladies n gents im off to park my bum
have a great day-and keep up the good work
Sorry.... meant to say... sorry for your loss beemuzed.... my dad suffered strokes -even before i was born, so i know what an awful illness it can be! Glad your mum is no longer suffering, but so sorry for you and all your family. Keep your chin up, and remember the good times and your mum before she took poorly...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
I can eat one more potato than a pig, that is my problem!! I AM starting to cook more from scratch... yesterday in Asda I had all my fruit and veg in the front of the trolley and there were only about four things that were "processed" - choc mousses for DS, some bread rolls, loaf of wholemeal.... My Mum is on Slimming world and has lost two stone but it's the reliance on Pasta N Sauces etc that bug me... the amount of sodium in them....
I know what I SHOULD be doing, it's the doing of it I have trouble with.
I've got a chicken (free range) in my big Le Creuset pot atm, with carrots and celery all round the outside, and I'll try to eat more veg than potatoes.... see how long I can make this chicken last for me and young'un. I am determined he won't be fat like me when he grows up. Boobs and balls just don't go!! My "overhang" has to go, bought an exercise ball off QVC and some books to go with it, daren't even venture near a gym right now, plus there is the childcare issue I see little enough of him as it is!!
I'll start doing more cleaning too MrsM you are an inspiration!! Scrubbing your carpets - nice one! Bet you never get charged on a marchout, do you??
I am so looking forward to my holiday we are going to a place I used to go in Italy when I was 15/16 and I know that youngun will LOVE it.. just can't go if I am the fattest momma on the beach!!
Right well one day at a time... no snacks today. Can't promise tomorrow....0 -
morning all!
Sallyrsm - hi and welcome:hello: I'm sure you'll get a lot of help and support from the wonderful people here! I follow SW and you wont see me eating the dreaded Pasta n Sauce:eek: and I cant abide Mullerlite!:D I just cook my own stuff from scratch - you know exactly whats in it then!;)
Frogga you seem to be doing wonderfully!:T just dont deprive yourself of everything as we all know that it doesn't work in the long run!
MRSM - enjoy your cross stitch!
Food plans today are
B - 2 x HM bread as toast with marmalade(only a scraping as I've just run out)
feeling hungry mid morning so had a low fat wholemeal rice cake and a banana
L - HM lentil soup with a seeded bread roll
D - roasted veggies or I might try and make a lentil cottage pie.
snacks - still got a mango to eat, yoghurt thats past its sell by date to use up and last bit of SW weetabix cake.
I hope you all have a good day
TTFN xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi All,
Well dinner with friends was delicious last night. She'd done melon for starters, roast chicken with loads of vegetables, roast potatoes and stuffing. I did quite well as only had one roast potato. Dessert was strawberries and I'm afraid I succumbed to sugar and cream with them - both helpings!! I then lapsed slightly and had several crackers with butter and cheese and 4 chocolates. However, I did stick to water most of the evening, with a small glass of orange juice to start. I don't drink (don't like the taste) so that wasn't a problem. We also walked there and back so got some exercise too.
Today we are going out for Sunday lunch too, postponed from last week so I shall have to try and be careful not to succumb to too many treats there too.
Breakfast: Museli etc, with skimmed milk. Pineapple juice.
Lunch: Restaurant so don't know yet.
Tea: Something very light if we've eaten out earlier, maybe fruit and a yoghurt.
It's Bank Holiday here in Spain for the next 3 days - Carnival Monday, Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. They certainly know how to celebrate. It's sunny and warm again today but there is rain forecast tomorrow. I shall spend the day at the computer trying to earn a bit of money if it does rain - that's the theory anyway.
Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Hya Folks
Well done to all the losers :T
Beemuzed - thinking of you:grouphug:
I forgot to weigh on Friday (still recovering from Thursday, see later), but weighed in on Saturday...and lost 1 pound! :j Thats 4 pounds lost on the Valentines Day Challenge, I could still do it, no, I WILL do it, only 3 to go!
I am really pleased,as I have hardly done any exercise due to very painful back, and had a few binge days. So now I think, how much more would I have lost if I had eaten less and exercised more? Lets see how I get on this next week!
On Thursday, it was a strange day, we lost our power @ 7:30 am and it didn't come back on until 8:30 pm! I know there are still folk up north who are still without power, it is no fun, especially if you are all electric. Luckily we have gas rings on our cooker, as well as a wood burning stove, so we were able to cook and keep warm. My heart goes out to folk with no means of cooking or keeping warm. The flickering of power before it went off did things to our computer, so we only came back "on-line" yesterday.
I had a baking day yesterday...4 dozen buns (2 cinnamon raisin, and 2 chocolate), flapjacks and two loaves of bread. I made dough for the pizza in the bm, but not convinced, prefer my own.
This morning, put another loaf on, have the chicken in the sc and a third clothes wash on the go, not too bad!
Food today:
B: porridge, raisins, soya milk and water
S: HM flapjack (only an icckle bit!)
L: HM soup + hm bread
S: Fruit
T: Chicken (in SC), potatoes & veg, Sugar-free jelly
Have a good day folks

Hi all
I have flicked thru posts and congrats to the loosers. also my thoughts are with you bemuzzed, It was a year ago now that I lost my dad to throat cancer after watching him suffering it seemed a release for him. We all miss him though, he was only 49 too.
I haven't been on much lately, as everything seems to be going pear shaped (inc me!!!) Assignments looming, behind on coursework, finances up the wall, so all this stress has had me eating everything in sight!!!!
Last week however, I managed to claw back a bit of control and started execising again and cutting back, I managed to lose 4lb so I am very pleased with myself. I have also set myself a mini challenge to cycle 100km a week, so this is keeping me getting on the bike...although I only did 50km last week as I pulled a leg muscle...
Good Luck All
