Hi All,
Well we've had a wonderfully sunny day today - sorry to all those suffering with the cold. I spent several hours lying in the sun with a book. It was shopping day this morning and I resisted buying any treats at all for this week. We've not had our normal walk but are going to friends for dinner so will walk up the hill and back to them (about 15 minutes each way).
Breakfast: Muesli etc but no juice today as it had fermented in its packet!
Lunch: Garlic and herb bread with cherry tomatoes and Camembert.
Dinner: At friends so not sure but I think some sort of a roast which will be nice as we can't cook them not having an oven.
Have a good evening everyone,

Hi All
Homemade Museli for brecky (always have oats in & added any left over dried fruit & nuts from the cooking draw)
Took a walk up to the kids nans (1/2 hour walk, pushed pushchair for 1/2 the journey). was very good there & declined the cheese on toast they offered for lunch, asking for toast with a small amount of butter on instead.
Then walked kids to my sisters so I could go to the cinema (nother 1/2 hour walk)
At the cinema I had 3/4 pack revels (amazed I actually saved some, normally dont) & a large diet pepsi - next time I'll take a snack with me, not only cheaper but definately healthier. Hopefully all the walking will have worked this off, also walked home after getting the kids so thats another 1/2 an hour walk.
Feeling a tad ill so might leave tea for now & have something light a little later.
Fingers crossed that you get the job AliBow
Hugs to you & yours beemuzed
Snow here as well rockie4 this morning, but the sun melted it allwould have loved it to have stayed. Not too cold here, sun shining & barely a breeze.
See you all tomorrow.

Very late to-night folks...actually knitted through my PC time...DD2's poor baby due on 5th has only got two and a bit jackets to her/his name, not enough in this weather, hence the panic
Didn't weigh myself this morning as I feel fatter than usual so decided to just leave it until next Friday...OH was kind enough to say to me this evening that he thinks that I have put on a lot of weight lately...really helps but I do ( when I calm down!!) accept that he rarely goes over 10 stone and is usually about 9 he doesn't understand me ( well its a change from a man's wife not understanding him isn't it?)
Had large bowl of porridge with apricots and raisins, honey and milk, coffee for breakfast and two helpings of stew for lunch and dinner...then a slice of Oxford lunch cake, two clementines and a pear.
Frogga...chin up, you'll work it out.
Congratulations to all the losers and welcome to all the newbies

Morning all!! Not much chance of me sleeping here. Neighbours are having a house warming party and doing very loud, very bad karaoke. Wouldn't mind so much if they could sing! Oh well makes a change from their usual late night DIY I guess.
I've been totally useless foodwise today. TOTM and I'm getting a cold so I just thought stuff it. Mum brought chocolate digestives and I've scoffed about half the packet. Agh, neighbours have just started on guns n roses now...of the temptation to get out my guitar and out loud them! Sorry tangent. As well as the choccie biscuits I had sausages, bacon, mushrooms and eggy bread for tea. On the plus side I did have a healthy wrap for lunch. Lightly fried peppers, red onion, garlic and mushrooms and had them with feta cheese in a tortilla. Very yummy.
Frogga - Thats a right pain about your mortgage.
And MrsM about your roof. I've got the london portrait company saying I owe them £80 at the minute so having to hunt down bank statements from 2004 at the minute to prove I don't. Going to take it to citizens advice cos I found the original contract and its not even filled out properly so not even sure its valid!
Yup, I have tried the wearthers chewy ones, yummy, perfer the originals tho.
Do you think the piklets would work with dry yeast or would it need to be fresh to get the frothyness?
Beemuzed - Sorry to hear about your mum.
Cheerfulness - Not sure were you live but if you're (or anyone else whos interested) are near st albans they have a big health food stall on the market on wednesdays (not sure about saturdays) that does herbs and spices pretty cheap. I've seen smoked paprika on there at £2 for a biggish pot before.
Saversam - I've got the cook yourself thin book. Its great. Love the chocolate truffles recipe.
Rosewood - Thought of you yesterday when I was reading the asda magazine. They were saying how everyone goes on about green tea being great for anti oxidants and coffee being bad for you but in reality you only absorb 25% of the anti oxidants in green tea compared to 75% from coffee! Thought it might make you feel more postive about your daily coffees
Ok, I've rambled on for enough tonight. Neighbours are still wailing their way through the 90's (we're up to pulp - common people now  ) Going to go to bed and try to read. Maybe if I switch on everything electric in the house I can trip to power for the street....
Edit: Ooh my 100th post. Yup, its sad that I noticed that I know!I'm through accepting limits'Cuz someone says they're soSome things I cannot changeBut till I try, I'll never know!0 -
sorry for your loss bemused - its a hard thing to go through but you'll make it. Total debt £21,000 :eek:Weight loss to date - 2 st, 2lb:j0

Morning all. :hello:
Snows all gone and the birds are twittering like mad for me to put out more fat balls. I've a robin that looks like a cricket ball just by the window. Still poor thing must be freezing.
Alibow - used to visit St Albans market some Saturdays with parents as a kiddie but moved far away now. Typical... would have loved that stall now.
Beemuzed - :grouphug: so sorry.
Rockie - could forgive a hubby almost anything if he's cook like yours.
MrsMc - Had split peas soaking while the gammon was cooking ready for soup making today. Will be a major part of my lunch plans this month as it is my fav soup of all.
The idea of using the tuna tins as crumpet rings is brilliant. How OS can you get?! :T DH and I had only just been looking up the price of them on Amazon when I read your post. Shall save my money now.
Jamie Oliver cooked some this week after dipping them in egg and then serving with bacon. That could make quite a nice lunch recipe. I'm trying for more variety this month so I don't get bored. If I added salad I might almost stretch this to a main meal.
Would love the sausage recipe you made the other day and let us know if you do the muffins and bagels. Fancy both of those... love cheese muffins toasted  and DS2 used to adore cinnamon and raisin bagels. I just find new recipes a bit daunting till someone tests them first. I guess I'm worried I'll waste money on inedibles.
Food today:
Weetabix
Pea & ham soup
Pork pie salad.
Snacks will be fruit and peach flan with evap (didn't have yesterday)
As still not feeling A1 I'm going to have the day x-stitching and crafting. I love scrapbooking and an idea came to me the other day to make a journal of this weightloss journey, complete with photos to show me the changes.
I think it was inspired by DS1 looking at a page I'd done of me at 15 with one of him at same age. (Entitled 'where did all the years go?') I was around 10stone.
We realised that he'd never seen me below 17.5 stone. In fact only remembers me at around 20 st. Same for DS2. They've only known me this size.I'm not having that. Want them to see me fit and healthy.
Sooooo..... each stone OH will take another piccy and I'll have the fun of doing another page, complete with comments on things that I'm finding have changed. ie, don't have to look for seating without arms, can fit in theatre seats, (not yet)... don't have food hangover in the mornings...etc.
Some of you will have no idea what the former means, others might have a clue. Being fat can be so inconvenient and embarrassing.
And don't get me started on plane seats where your hip calls the hostess every two mins...
Opps long post... sorry BG's. Got carried away.Just this thread is helping me so much. :j

Just a quickie ~ thinking of you bemuzzed xxxxxxxxxxx
Alobow ~ I was born in St Albans
That's crap news about your roof MrsM ~ these things are sent to try us arent they?
Marie ~ my BOSS told me I'd put on weight, in frount of everyone at a staff meeting she said " I can see it on your legs and face"That really helped !
Still being good, Mr Frog was moaning thet he didn't have any goodies yesterday so I bought a very small packet of sweets each for him and the tadpoles but choose things I didn't like just in case I was tempted!
Have a good day people , Hope all the posters and the readers are OK
Hi Cheerfullness you snuck in while I was typing ~ you reminded me about a story about a very straightlaced Librarian that I used to work with . She too used to feed the birds in her garden and hung those fat balls from her trees. When she ran out she walked into town with me oneday to Martin&Newbys, the local hardware store, to buy some more. We were in a hurry as we had to get back to work so she called to the shop assistant who was bending down behind the counter "excuse me, have you got Fat Balls?" I couldn't breathe for laughing.Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

My mums like that Frogga - as innocent as the day but the stuff that leaves her mouth unwittingly! She's a total embarrassment some days.
Well this is a new Frogga to me.... you really are going to make this a 'fabulous feb' by the looks of things. Good for you. :T
Bitty confused about this 'being good' thing tho from other posts. You mean no treats whatsoever? My version of good is the 80/20 thingy... eat healthily for 80% of the time and enjoy what you fancy 20%.. as opposed to the other way round.
If I don't do it that Way then I think I'd eat out Morrison's easter section on 1st March. So if I mention eating flans and things  its not that I've failed, just going a bit maverick.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £110.19/ £250

Cant speek for the others but my "being good" means no binging. If I can master that I'd be OK. From past experience if I ban everything, I then go on a massive binge afterwards. I once lost 9 st in 8 months by banning everything, then one saturday I went mad ~ and put on 2 1/2 st in the following month!:eek:Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D
