Frogga - YAY!!!! :T I'm up for the February challenge........well, my mind set is, I've given myself a good talking to, I CAN DO THIS :j I've only got to lose 15lbs to get to be the weight I really want to be.......all I have to do now is get my mouth to agree to it  Last night I had a curry after the Bigshop with pilau rice and a naan!!! This morning I got up early and went for my swim but thought I'd forgotten my brekkie so had a toast from the cafe then found my oats and raisins so I ate that as well and I've just had a packet of mini cheddars :EasterBun There you go, confession is good for the soul!!

Right, I have to WI in the morning, last week I was 11-8 so we'll see what tomorrow brings. I intend to be good for the rest of the day - honest  I've not even been very OS this week:eek: but that HAS to change, I've done my meal plans for the next week and done the shop. It gets worse at home as OH has been paid off from his last job BUT they sent a cheque which will take 10 days to clear so we're managing on my wages AGAIN, I've joined the shopping challenge so my purse is on a diet as well!!

I'll spend tomorrow cooking/freezing, tonight will be veggie sausage with lentils (asda mag recipe) I think.

    See you later ladies :A

    Morning All....

It such a shame that some people feel there's no point to posting here anymore, although understandablesad-smiley-369.gif I wish you well, & hope that our paths cross very soon...feel all Humphrey Bogart & Ingrid Bergman---"Just whistle....y'know how to whistle don't ya?":p I'm open to pm if you fancy.....offer's therewinking-smiley-9356.gif

I like the idea of BOLD &/or changing colour---makes sense to hi-light the recipes, especially for der-bats like me:D

Went to Mr T where they have a restaurant still run by the store, & they do mini-me options on some hot meals. I had a half portion of tuna pasta bake with a half spoon of peas for £1:99...not particularly tasty but filled the hole:o

Good Luck with the weigh-ins folks.

  • Hello everyone - I'm in for the February challenge but I will have to take it a day at a time as I haven't been at all good lately. But today I have started over again and I am DETERMINED to get my weight off by Christmas (or the best part of it anyway). Did any of you see that girl on GMTV who is 32 stone and wants NHS funded obesity surgery? I felt really sorry for her as I know how hard it is to lose weight and I have shed loads (11 stone) to lose myself, but I don't know how weight loss surgery is the answer. I went to see a consultant about getting a gastric band fitted privately some time ago and he said that if you binge with a band in then you can die:eek: because you only have such a little stomach that it can literally burst - same with a gastric bypass. I think that the only way to do it is to eat regular food in regular amounts but it is sooooo difficult.

    Today I am having:

Breakfast - Protein shake with banana
Lunch - salad with cottage cheese, two tangerines
Dinner - salad with hot stir fry of fillet of beef strips, mushrooms and onions with a little bit of Hellmanns extra light mayo mixed with natural yoghurt, dijon mustard and a tiny bit of honey as a dressing.
Snacks - I have made a big bowl of Apfelmohrensalat - that is grated carrots and apples mixed together and stored in a lock and lock. It is really nice and tastes quite satisfying. Sometimes I throw and handful of raisins in and some sunflower seeds, but I am trying to be extra good today.

I have to do a big shop over the weekend and I am determined not to buy any fattening stuff - I go round the supermarket throwing cakes and other carp into the trolley with gay abandon, telling myself that it is for the kids and I won't eat any:rolleyes: - yeah right.

    Morning all :)

Confession post today, yesterday I stuck to plan but stuck lots of extras in too :o Had my soup and roll for lunch, but had it with melted cheese on top. Then I had a seedy roll when my bread came out of the oven, then when I was making my pasta bake I had an overwhelming craving for garlic mushrooms so I made some and put them on some toasted brick bread (my bread didnt rise properly :( ) and had that as a 'starter'. Then I had a gorgeous sundried tomato and herb tear and share bread, which takes loads of olive oil to make it taste like shop bought, add to that the lack of portion control when serving the pasta bake (topped with melted cheese ) and all in all, yesterday could have been better.

Today so far has been porridge with honey and raisins, lunch will be soup with a HM seedy roll, dinner will be leftover pasta bake and another roll. Snacks to be from - yoghurt, raw carrots, celery, HM houmous, snack-a-jacks, plums, banana. Treat - Glass of wine tonight.

Frogga - Like the sound of the Feb challenge, though not sure I can go a whole month without a single naughty treat  I'm not *that* desperate to lose weight! Tomorrow I will be having a breakfast roll (bacon/sausage/mushroom/tomato on the biggest softest bap you've ever seen) because I love them and I promised myself one this week as a treat for not having one last week too. I'll take my porridge with me too though in case I come over all virtuous like. I will be trying my best though to lose another half stone this coming month - thats my own personal challenge.

  • Just got back from my parents with 2 boxes of chocolates from my dad.
Ones some sorta continentals and the other is liquars (sp?)

I think I'm beginning to realise where my chocolate addicition stems. Anyway, will have some when I fancy them but will get OH to place them somewhere safe just as a precaution. ;) I'm 5'4" and too heavy to risk climbing on chairs so the top of the wardrobe should be safe. :p

RC - A friend of mine that I haven't seen in ages has had a gastric band fitted. This must be about 5 months back. She's certainly lost masses of weight but her mind is nowhere near sorted out. I've never heard so many 'not alloweds' in a 5 mins convo.
I'm definitely not going to go that way now.

Just got time for some HM soup before I go to the bank and then go shopping for ingredients for HM sausages and cheese & ham pasties. :j :j Been dying to try those recipes out since MrsM posted them.

My weigh in tomorrow. Shall see what all that seedy bread has done.

Well done to everyone who's lost weight and once again keep at it to everyone who's stayed the same/gained, it's not easy!!!

Had my weigh-in today....I've lost 2.75lbs, that's 8lbs in total taking me from 15st 12lbs down to 15st 4lbs. DH has lost 3.5lbs this week making his total 9lbs lost.

I'm chuffed as it's coming up to my TOTM so I didn't expect to lose anything.

Frogga I'd like to join the February challenge too.

    Food today....

BREAKFAST: Porridge with semi-skimmed milk, cinnamon & raisins. Orange juice & large tea.

LUNCH: 2 slices toast with low fat spread & low fat cheese (DD has just finished her lunch, but then decided she'd share mine too, that's what I call Portion Control).

DINNER: Gammon, boiled potatoes, mashed turnip, carrots & gravy.

Will also have snacks & plenty to drink.

Couldn't get out walking today either because of the weather. Vacuumed whole house, moved furniture in living room, stripped bed, vacuumed & flipped mattress & changed sheets. Hopefully just as much exercise & a clean house to boot. :j

Well done to everyone who has lost.

Went for my lunch walk - lovely and sunny, cold and breezy out.

Went to Mr T for some bits (more half price finish dw tabs, and a new bra coz of losing all this weight )

Snacks have been a pack of tooty frooties and an empire apple -lovely and crispy. Lunch was erm :o half a baguette :o with erm :o brie and erm :o bacon :o. But half was enough and not so long ago I'd have eaten the whole thing and crisps and a cake too :o.

Also bought some nice chocs for the inlaws as they are kid sitting while we go to the 70's party (no blue nun - thought it was meant to be babycham!! ;) - but have bought a very gross bright green top from ebay which demonstrates exactly why most of the 70's fashion isn't in fashion now!! :p)
