Right am back on track today. So far I have scoffed....
B - Porridge with teaspoon sugar
L - HM Roll with tuna & sweetcorn (extra low fat mayo) & carrot sticks
T - Roast chicken, peas, sprouts, carrots, yorkies and potatoes (on small plate;) )
Snacks none yet but may have apple if I get desperate later. I have also done my half hour exercise (did a salsacise dvd). Still hoping to loose the 7lbs by valentines day but without drastic measures just smaller portions and less of the Hm cakes and biccies:o0 -

Hooray!
I'm having one of those increasingly dreaded "birthdays" next week, which always kicks me into action. Last year, I had a crisis and set myself a mission to get a new job, new house and new car. Mission achieved! So this year, it's all about getting my body into shape.
I got a blender for Christmas, so I've been making myself soups and smoothies to help with the weight-loss. Personally, I find it easier to eat the same thing every day (if I get bored of the food, great - it shouldn't be a leisure activity anyway!).
So my new dinner is a blend of:
- Raw baby spinach
- 1 avocado
- Half a cucumber
- Can of kidney beans
- 2/3 cloves of garlic
I whizz it all up, refrigerate it and warm it up for my supper every evening (1 batch as above lasts 3 days).
I've also been making fruit smoothies, of which I drink over a litre per day:
- Banana
- Strawberry
- Juiced apple
Lunchtime is just green salad with baby carrots and fresh tomatoes and a squirt of balsamic vinegar.
I've been doing this for nearly a week and loving itI've also been doing more walking and muscle-toning exercises, and starting tomorrow I'll be walking / running the 5 miles to and from work.
Unfortunately, I can't do much about "7lbs by Valentine's Day", because I don't own a pair of bathroom scales and don't really believe in weighing myselfBut my personal mission is to be Size 10 by October (I'm currently 14), because I'm going to see the Mighty Boosh then and I want to look smokin' in case I meet Noel Fielding :rotfl:

Does that go a mushy browny green colour???
As for the 5 miles - is that 5 there and 5 back? - if so, you're braver than me!!! It's 5½ miles to work and I know if i walked it then I wouldn't be in a fit state to last the day! I used to walk 2½ miles to work and same home for my old job - that wasn't too bad.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
well this week going up and down. managed on monday night to stop the midnight run around the house for as many snacks as i can find and tuesday managed to only have one can of cole all day rest was squash. am hoping to gradually cut out all the bad stuff as i am convinced thats the problem but if on my weigh in on 23rd feb have not dropped fair bit of weight i will then need to look closer at my diet. spend lot of my time laying on my bed in agony with back pain but have now put my old step next to bed so force myself to do 2 or 3 steps up and down each time i get up to go loo etc. doc very pleased with plan. have also statred to have a little walk around shops pushing wheelchair when i can rather than just sitting in it for whole journey. so i am trying and you know what they say god loves a tryer lol0

I love reading what you guys eat everyday, giving me lots of ideas.
I'm having a last few days of naughtiness before diet starts monday. Having been getting clued up as well because as previously said I have never cooked in my life.
Went online this morning to find out how to poach an egg. Went to kitchen and carefully prepared water, vinegar, plate, slice of toast and then opened fridge - to discover we have no eggs :rotfl:
Maybe try that one another day....:o
Have one question for you all but might post it as a thread as posts can get lost amongst here. What carbohydrate intake do you aim for? Lots of dieting mags I've been reading recommend cutting down on bulky carbs like pasta and potatoes, replacing them with veg where possible e.g. shredded carrots in place of spaghetti, sheets of spinach in place of lasagne. I certainly don't want to go down the Atkins route - tried in once and felt so ill. And any diet that restircts fruit in place of cheese and cream has to be dodgy.
So what do you people recommend - lots of carbs or try and go for the veg and proteins instead where possible? Total debt £21,000 :eek:Weight loss to date - 2 st, 2lb:j0 -
I don't cut down anything.. I INCREASE fruit and veg (before this lot had me strung) and try to have breakfast (before this lot had me strung) .. and I try to decrease snacking and sweets and crisps...
Add a spoonful of exercise and a lot of nagging I may actually one day get there!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
chloebelle - I have cut down on carbs just for evening meal as apparently you don't burn them up as easily as you do during the day
Mainly did this because OH wanted to cut down on pasta, bread, rice, potatoes in the evening. So I have carbs in the day (porridge for breakfast etc) but then evening meal is mainly meat and veg (no pots), sometimes pulses or beans - still have lentils and things in the evening. Occasionally I'll do me a risotto and him summat else
When I've cut down on carbs during the day I've felt really ill but just cutting it down in the evening I haven't noticed it so much and did lose extra weight when we started doing that.
Of course if I cut down on the malt loaf and sweets during the day, I'd probably lose a bit more :rolleyes:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
