Evening all. Have been a bit naughty over the weekend but nowhere near as bad as I could have been. Went for dried pineapple (the whitworths juicy kind - don't like the others) and a bag of snack a jacks popcorn both shared with mum on saturday rather than scoffing a bar of chocolate to myself. Went to the cinema today with a friend then to the pub for tea. Had a small bowl of chilli with a few chips. Friend is also trying to shift the pounds so instead of getting pud we went into sainsburys and go some chocolate (much cheaper as well, so MS). I've had two squares if mine and don't want anymore so hopefully it'll last me a few days
I've now got a horrible headache tho (probably ate something on my allergy list) and our idiot new neighbours apparently see no problem with hammering and drilling at this time of night
Frogga - You may have eaten four hot x buns but I bet you got one of your five a day from them(Apparently fruit in puddings etc does count. Its just not quite as healthy for obvious reasons!)
Newlywed - The ammount of times I did that with my shopping whilst at uni. Even ended up chasing things down the road one time after one of the bags split :rotfl:
MrsM - I could quite happily live off pasta bakes. Love them! I do a really nice sauce with tomato passata, garlic, peppers, onions, tabasco and either cashew or pine nuts. Yummy.
Right, off to bed for me now. Hopefully the neighbours will stop with the DIY before I have to march round in my jamies and fluffy slippers and confiscate their tools :rotfl:I'm through accepting limits'Cuz someone says they're soSome things I cannot changeBut till I try, I'll never know!0 -
Morning Peeps,
All smiles this morning ~ thanks for the possitive vibes, yes, all is not lost , oooooooooooooo
I'll try again today, and I'll avoid the shops I think. If I dont buy it , I cant eat it!
At least I am Trying

Morning ladies:hello:
Just been for my swim:j and am sat here in work with oats, soya milk and berries
Survived last night, 1 small glass of wine (I left my 'bucket' in the cupboard) I had half a wafer thin slice of dry bread when the craving struck and it did the trick, I nibbled it very slowly instead of :EasterBun
Bit fed up this morning as I was sure I would get paid today but it's not in the bankso I'll have to wait until tomorrow so.....
Lunch - pasta salad and fruit
Tea will be something with eggs as that's all we've got in
I'm going to menu plan today, a very frugal menu plan as OH is seriously in the bad books at the moment  so he's on value beans on value toast but I might have something slightly more tasty
Right, off to have a quick cuppa before the boss arrives!
See you later folks :A0 -
Glad to see you're back on the case again today Frogga.
Don't want to play with your mind here but..... just had a trip to the cadbury's site and found out that CCE's contain 171 cals each. I was shocked, other bars are far higher - even a crunchie is 150 and that's all air. (love them mind).
I'm thinking that if you really wanted one then get someone to buy you one once a week and sit back and enjoy. ONE mind. They only allow 5 each for everyone in the UK per year (says so on the site.)
Hot cross buns are around 160 cals each on average before buttering. Burhhhh..... enough of the calories malarkey. Just know that if I resist what I really want then sooner or later I'll eat my way through the house before finally running out and getting what I really fancy. But then...my head was messed up with food a long time ago.
Strangely, crisps is my trigger, not CCE's or buns, and when I bought a single packet last week I only got halfway through before thinking they were too sharp (S&V) and shoved them in the cupboard until someone else had them. Not fancied any since. Now that has NEVER happened before. In the past I've barely registered the flavours I'm so busy whapping it down my throat. And even if I did, I'd grin and bear it.
Okay enough warbling...
Weetabix for breakfast
Having a friend for lunch so cooked a fresh loaf last night and we'll have egg salad sandwiches. I might have mine in HM seedy bread from the freezer.
The lads are having the last of the CB cakes from the freezer with beans and wedges. Not enough for me..:o Think I'll have a tuna salad with some olives and peanuts thrown on top and some more seedy bread.
Well done to Rosewood, :T and all the others keeping going. Away to surf now.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Morning Folks.....
Don't you just know it---went out all enthused about spending on decent bargains yesterday, &....nowt...nada...zilch! Oh well, the cash stays in my purse & it'll keep for another day:D
Thought I was being good too, by ordering a chicken & bacon jacket spud but when it came it had even more mayo than I reckon me usual tuna would have had:eek:
Could you post the recipe for the fat free fruit loaf please Keiss? Methinks the offspring might enjoy that, & if they plaster it with butter it won't matter as much will it;)
Wanted to ask how many calories did you consume for lunch yesterday Cheerfulness "Having a friend for lunch" Would that have been with fava beans & a nice chianti:rotfl:Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Morning all,
Rockie4 - I love the choc guzzling smilie - it's fantastic
Frogga - Given there are normally 6 HC buns in a pack - well done -you didn't eat them all. They're on bogof at Sainsburys ATM - I will resist temptation. The trouble is the kids adore them - even ds2 who's normally picky about dried fruit.
Mrs M - had the CB crispbakes for lunch yesterday - yum!
Well, did quite well at the Spanish theme dinner last night - I ended up driving 2 friends there so that was the wine taken care of. And the hostess had put all the cream for the soup and the dessert separately because she had remembered about my dairy intolerance - so that saved loads of cals as well.:D
Breakfast: HM bread with egg and onion
Lunch: Could be a prawn open sandwich at Ikea - meeting a friend there - otherewise CB crispbakes at home
Dinner: Chipolatas with gravy, j potatoes and veggies.
Am going to sort out my knitting this afternoon for any stray moments when my fingers could start wandering towards the kitchen - will find my cross stitch as well in case my brain decides it's tired of knitting - oh the excuses I can find.
Have a good day.
Forgot to say: did an hour's gardening yesterday, including mowing the lawn - so am counting that as my exercise for yesterday.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

BigMummaF, hopefully Keiss will post her fruit loaf recipe soon, in the meanwhile here's one I originally posted on the old OS weight loss thread, hope it is useful to you
This is the original recipe :
450g ( 1lb ) mixed dried fruit
125g ( 4oz ) Soft brown sugar
275ml ( 1/2 pint ) strong tea
3 tsp baking powder
250g (9oz) wholemeal flour
1 egg
Soak fruit overnight in the tea. Mix in the beaten egg, then the flour mixed wih the baking powder. Mix well. Divide into floured tins [kitty note : I use one 2lb loaf tin which is just right ! ] and bake at 180C/350F/gas mark 4 for 2-3 hours.
Now, my variations : I have cut the sugar right down to two level tablespoons and this has had no negative impact on the flavour whatsoever ! One brave day I'm going to try to cut it out altogether, as tbh I reckon the dried fruit is probably sweet enough on its own.
I use slightly less flour - a round 1/2lb, or even a bit less on occasions when I've been running out... again, no negative impact, just makes nice and moist, albeit less bread-ish. I have never made this with white flour - would advise always wholemeal, I don't think it would be quite as nice with white flour.
Also, I found by cooking the loaf at the above temperatures for the time stated, it overcooked. So I start it off at that for the first half hour then turn it down for the rest of the cooking time. I don't think I've ever cooked it for 3 whole hours either ! A couple of times its started getting a bit too " done " on top before the rest is cooked, do the usual and bung a bit of foil on if this happens.
So, nice and simple and not sweet and claggy like rich fruit cake etc !
Edit : Ok thats it. I've had enough now. Sorry folks but I am pee'd off to the back teeth with my posts getting removed for no good reason when similar posts are allowed to stay not only on this thread but others like it. It pains me to do this but I'm going to give up posting here now. Good luck everyone." Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.. "~ November 8th 2008. Now totally DEBT FREE !~0 -
