Morning all,
Frogga - I know so much where you're coming from. I have this feeling that I can do everything else in my life - so why can't I do this?
I have gone back to read the Intro to "More with Less" (might not work for an atheist frog:D ) but there is one sentence that has really grabbed me:
"We no longer see food as good, providing nutrients and needed fuel. It is either a splurge or a scourge."
OK it was 2 sentences, but the author is writing about obesity in the US today and I just think those 2 sentences sum my whole attitude up. I have to work on seeing food as good and not my enemy.
Had porridge for brekkie which I need to do more, as I like it and we have a long history of heart disease in our family so the oats are good. And it's cheap, just to prove it's also OS.
Going to try the corned beef crispbakes for lunch as I have left over mashed spuds. I'm out for dinner at my Cookery Club - which is a Spanish theme this year - and following all the rules here - I am going to enjoy it, enjoy the fact someone else has cooked, take smaller portions and then not beat myself up about it.
Have a good day.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Morning all! Have had an ok weekend, still struggling with getting my eating under some sort of control
. It does get a bit disheartening but have realised that what I need is a good kick up the bum. Had a job interview last friday and the run up to it made me all anxious and nervous.Consequently I ate like there was no tomorrw. You would think being anxious would make my tummy not want food but NO..Oh dear!
Right today
B- Fruit Salad and Yoghurt
L- HM soup
D- Tuna pasta bake and salad
Snacks- Fruit and Nuts
I hope everybody has a good week.Well done to alfiesmum,Irishmummyof2 and all other succesfull pound droppers.0 -
Just weighed, stayed the same.
However I'm off to stay with my friend who makes excellent curries.
Didn't I say?
She's in Trichy in Southern India, so two weeks of curries and plenty of warmth.
Must hurry trying to pack as I set off tonight.

Hya folks
Hope everyone had a good weekend.
It looks like there are are a lot of you out there feeling down about this weight-loss lark at the moment, count me as one too.
I'm not sure whether it's the weather (that has been pretty good the past few days), or the slump after the beginning of the year with us all making decisions that THIS year will be the year we do IT...whatever it is...loose weight, save money, be healthy (all three in my case). So now we have to knuckle down and persevere...it isn't easy, and will almost certainly take longer then we want or hoped, but WE CAN DO IT! :j
We don't have to do everything at once (but it IS a female trait to keep on trying to do this!), just a little bit at a time. Change just one thing (or two) at a time..no matter how small, and then keep adding to it. I think why we (well me at least) fall so quickly, is that we are trying to change our bodies as quickly as possible, whereas the state we have reached happened over time and crept up on us...so the way to win is to do this in reverse... I know it is hard, but our bodies will be better for it. I know it has been said before, but we all need a bit of reminding every so often.
OOPS...I must get off my soapbox not before I fall off!
Not sure what brought this on...perhaps being unable to do very much this weekend due to bad back, has got me thinking. My chiropractor told me on Friday: "Try thinking about yourself instead of the rest of the world. How can you help others if you don't help yourself?"
So I didn't get into the garden or go on the computer (much!), but I did rest, sleep, read, plan the weeks meals, the years seed planting and watch more TV that I have done for ages! Saying that, I did some baking yesterday: 4 dozen buns, 3 fruit loaves (fat free), three loaves of bread (BM) and a tray of flapjacks. Many of these are safely tucked away in the freezer for later this week when my teenage boys have finished all the rest!
Food today:
B: Porridge, raisins, water & soya milk+ OJ
S: ?
L: Sandwich - beef left overs from yesterday's roast with HM bread. Fruit
S: ?
T: HM Spag bol + wholewheat spaghetti + veg
S: SF jelly with grapes in
Apologies for the long ramblings.
Now I have to stop, been sitting down at computer for too long...not good for back!

Morning all,
Enjoy your holiday M.E.
Frogga...sorry you are a bit down pet...you can do it but try to take it easy rather than a stone a week.....hugs
Congratulations to all losers and chin up to all gainers (is that a valid word??)
I have eaten to-day:
2 small orange type things
1 pear
small serving sugar free muesli with extra raisins, dried apricot and brazil nuts, glass water.
Probably no lunch as dinner is early so won't want anything until then
Dinner is roast lamb...OH saw half leg for what he thought was €2.49 and only realised that it was €12.49 when he was was paying for it...being a man he took it anyway...no re-imbursement from me as January budget is all gone and I told him on Saturday and yesterday not to buy anything! Will have spuds, turnips, carrots, maybe greens with oyster sauce
Have a good day all

Afternoon all
Well i did 2 1/2 hrs of walking this morning... covered 2 supermarkets (usually do them on seperate days)...you should have seen me overtaking all those slower than me -and YES there are some out there....so thats my exercise done for today...which may explain my
:j :T mood at the moment :rotfl:..so im not feeling down
I spent the night on the sofa as my lovely hubby was snoring like a giant wart hog last night -i tried the spare room, but could still hear him  .. so it was me, the blanky and the sofa -mind its comfier than bed as its a huge recliner and i slept like a top...until hubby got up for work:eek: Did have visions of sleeping in the basement at one point if hubby kept it up..but i managed to get far enough away not to hear him :T
Well done on the losses this morning :T
Nice to have you back frogga... hope you and mr frog had a great weekend
Hello and welcome Alibambino... glad you decided to join us-its a lot less painful on here than the LIPO TRIM route... as one who has been there, done that, and suffered the constipation for it :rotfl:
Hope you get lots of help n hints on here....
Thrift Monster
That sentence reminds me of something my mum always says...we are supposed to "Eat to Live and NOT live to eat" .... something i am finally getting to grips with .
Alfiesmum.. my digital scales are the same :rotfl: -i have one specific bathroom tile they HAVE to stand on.. I do have the WW digital kitchen scales which i love -even though i no longer "point" stuff -it takes out the variations you can get with normal ones..
I have had a yoghurt mid morning , and am about to grab a few krisproll thingies with cream cheese for lunch and dinner is pasta bake....
Got the shopping i need for this week €9.16 :rotfl: so thats the Feb grocery challenge off to a great start :T
well folks i will leave you in peace for nowhave a great afternoon everyone..and keep at it ...we are getting there:D
Hello to everyone i have missed...especially the "regulars" i accused of having a social life-when they were out grafting-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
how's this for enforced portion control:mad: :rotfl: . decided to make us soft poached eggs on toast, i usually do them in a pan in boiling water but have recently bought a special egg poaching pan so decided to give it a go. no instructions on how long to cook etc but i thought they were going hard and put 2 on the toast - nope they were raw underneath /inside. so in the bin they go. i cooked hubbys for longer and they were ok and then decided to try again. this time they were perfect - sat down at pc desk to eat but the plate wasn't balanced properly and end up with me & carpet covered in soft poached egg & toast
- managed to save one, so i think someone was trying to tell me i should only be having one:rotfl:

Hi everyone,
Well done to everyone who's lost and stick with it to everyone who hasn't.
Haven't been online for a few days as I've been really busy.
Yesterday DH & me took DD in buggy for a 3 mile walk and as usual we forgot the pedometer, so we went back later in the car and worked out the distance.
Had my planned treats on saturday night of a few drinks, 3 After Eights & a packet of crisps as well as pizza, oven chips and curry sauce for tea....thoroughly enjoyed it all. I'm quite proud that I stopped at 1 packet of crisps as usually after a few drinks I turn into Pac Man.
Today so far....
Breakfast: Bowl branflakes with semi-skimmed milk. (Need to buy bigger bowl as I bought Tesco scottish oats for porridge and they seem to need to cook for longer than my normal porridge, but they can't cook for long enough without boiling over in the microwave).
Lunch: About to have poached egg on toast.
Dinner: Will be leftover ham cooked in coke, spicy wedges & salad (Yum!).
I'll also have have a few snacks also, some water & loads of tea.
Took DD in the buggy for a walk & remembered to take my pedometer, worked out at just over a mile.
Good luck everyone :j0 -
Hi everyone! Congratulations whether you've lost or not, you're all still here and sometimes that's good enough. Don't worry, keep at it, teeny little steps get you there eventually
Another 2lbs this week - very very pleased as last night had a complete binge! Sat in bed at 2am eating my way through a 6 pack of crisps . Anytime I get upset I binge eat and was so fed up this morning with myself. Anyway that takes me to 9lbs in 3 weeks and I am very happy with that. Goal for next week is another 2 because that then takes me below 11 stone for first time in months. Feeling really revved and syched about it (Apart from last night) and so have got to keep going.
Bit the bullet and paid £1000 last night for the family holiday in July and there is no way I am going if I'm still wobbling all over t'shop.
B - skipped because was in a meeting
L - homemade soup and a slice of dry toast
D - roast dinner mkII (from yesterdays leftovers)
S - fruit

Hi Guys,
Well so far, so good ! :j Not binged yet ...........................:D
This healthy eating malarky is easy! Dont know what all the fuss is about!
Popped into Sainsbugs to get some healthy stuff on the way home from work and was STUNNED at how little it cost. Would usually have bought "goodies" too and spent about £25 , but bought loads of veg, salad and fruit and it came to £15! :j Clever Frog
Am now going to make a big batch of chilli and freeze individual portions. I think my healthy eating choices fall apart when I am hungry and want something NOW and cant wait to cook it. Preparation is the key methinks
Am hopping off now, have decieded I wont have some choccy at the mo, I can if I want to, but I dont fancy it at the moment, maybe later, maybe not, God this is EASY ! Tee Hee :rotfl:Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D
