Woke up early and made myself a big bowl of porridge for brekkie so I do not get tempted by bacon butties.

Need to buy some more ryvita as we are running low.

Lunch will be belly of pork (ugh!!!) as DH really wants this and will make burger or something for anyone who cannot face this.

Will try to squeeze roast potatoes in my pathetic excuse for a oven and do mushy peas, broccoli and cauli as well.

Have just suggested (absentmindedly) to DH that if we sell the house without a functoning built in double oven we coud get sued!!!! Maybe it would be cheaper to buy an oven now cheaply rather than pay for someone else's choice later???;)

Let's see if this becomes his idea later, in which case I may let him talk me into it!

DD goes back to uni tonight so I want to spoil her a bit - if she will let me!

Dunno wot I'm doinwrongconfused-smiley-17419.gif.....p'raps I need to drink more water & flodd the blubber out:o

Caught that Jamie Oliver programme last night, with the autopsy & stuff.......sad-smiley-350.gifI don't want that to be me.....

I'm blaming you lot for starting the 14.02 challenge:p cuz I stayed away from the scales before then. Thing is.....I know I'm losing the inches---[one of]my spare tyre is decidedly less inflated of late:D

  • Don't worry BF - if you know that you're getting slimmer than it has to mean that you're toning the 'blubber' and we all know that muscle weighs more than flab. ;)

Quickie as I'm off out to some friends for the afternoon.... I've scoffed down two slices of buttered bara brith. Hmmmm still too sweet for me. I've noticed in the past that when I've eaten less I get a 'heightened taste awareness' and the flavours etc seem more intense. Having to knock a bit of sugar off my weetabix this morning.

Yorkies filled with l/O chicken casserole from freezer and steamed veg
Just had a couple of boiled eggs and seedy bread.

Too fill really now so off to try and burn off some energy.

    See you all later.

    Afternoon everyone.

Thriftmonster I used to go to SW and decided a while ago to just save the money I was spending which mounts up. Fee each week plus magazine and raffle tickets if they do one. I just keep thinking of the lovely new bathroom I wil have.

Keiss21 Hope your back is feeling better.

BigMummaF Dont worry too much that you have stayed the same. It does sound like you are losing inches. I think water does help a lot.

Not a good weekend for me food wise. Was night shift Friday and scoffed at work. Yesterday I put a curry in the slow cooker for when I got up. Later had 2 bars of chocolate. The worst thing is Im doing all this while reading a book called Get off your !!!! and lose weight. Ive nearly finished it and it has helped. But I get a lot of inspiration from this board. I actually walked into a shop today looked at the chocolate and imagined it covered in the worse thing I could think of. It made me nauseous and I walked back out. A first for me. So today I:A had.

b Two small slices of toast with spread and marmalade.

L Sunday lunch with turnip and carrotts.

Evening May finish the curry from yesterday.

Hope this little tale will make you all smile. Was telling someone about my fall and I said I had slipped on some wet water. I couldnt believe I had said it lol.:D

Hugs to everyone cos its nice to get one.

Yeah, boddy, the wet water is the dangerous one I find!

Dinner is ham, cabbage and spuds....pudding fruit for whoever wants

Supper...maybe an onion sandwich....love them and the (raw) onion is so good for you

Frogga...where are you...not broken down in the new car I hope

    Have a good day all

  • MrsM - Exciting social life, my ar*e ! I've been at work that's where I've been :D

BigMumma - don't worry about not losing the pounds right this moment - inch loss is just as important :) it'll happen !

cheerfulness - yeah I find that " less I eat less I want " taste thing with sugar - except when whatever triggers me sends me off the deep end eatingwise and then have to start all over again, sigh.

clockwatcher - welcome ! :D droping a dress size is fine - I managed to do that before Christmas and don't currently weigh myself, although that might be changing soonish.

boddy - don't beat yourself up about scoffing on night shift - the latter can be b*ggers to do foodwise. I no longer have to do them but I do remember they definitely do odd things to your food thinking and I would go in armed with enough grub to withstand a siege and polish most of it off before the shift ended, for no good reason !

marie - yeah raw onion is supposed to be good for the skin ! I used to enjoy it when we could get mild spanish onions here but haven't seen them for years, the normal ones are a bit strong for me. Wish some enterprising soul would start growing Vidalia onions in the UK, they are really delicious - so tasty and sweet you can eat them like apples !

Nowt much in the way of exercise but pretty decent foodwise today so far :

Breakfast 2x small wholemeal toast with lurpak lighter and honey.
Lunch : shared effort at work again - prawns, avacado, watercress, 2 types of tomato, sweetcorn, greek yoghurt as dressing and couscous with dried apricots, chickpeas and spring onions in ! yummy !
Had a cuppa and slice of toast with jam when I got in. Bit of a bready day as supper will corned beef sandwiches again with apple, beetroot, celery and tomatoes, but balanced out by all the fruit, veg etc.

Have a good evening, all :)

    Hi All,

Not a lot to report today. Had our walk on the beach this afternoon. It was very windy with lots of waves crashing onto the sand but I managed to keep my feet dry.

I have been fairly good again all day foodwise.

Breakfast: Muesli etc. Pineapple juice. Banana.

Lunch: Crackers with cheese and cherry tomatioes. Small icecream lolly (like a very mini Magnum).

Dinner: Pork chops, potato and onion, mushrooms, peas. Yoghurt.

    Snacks: Orange

Weigh day for me tomorrow so fingers crossed.

  • Welcome Alibambino. :)

Sounds like you have a very sensible plan there. Lots of us on this thread have been eating with the family but just knocking the portion size down.
Personally I think that is why I'm finding it easy to stick to because I don't have to feel I'm eating 'rabbit food' while cooking the family 'proper' meals.

Have to say, think that we are meeting somewhere in the middle at meals time because my DH and sons have lots more steamed veg now and are nearly not moaning now. ;)

Going away is going to be a good landmark for you to work towards. :D
