Made sausage sandwiches for breakfast and managed to restrict myself to eating two low carb sausages so very pleased.

Have not eaten bread biscuits or cakes for nearly three weeks and the flab is changing shape if not disappearing!

DH is trying to chivvy everybody into doing stuff that is not really necessary or urgent but am trying not to get stressed and dive into bread bin or biscuit tin.

Afternoon everyone, and hello and welcome to the newbies

Well done on the weight losses everyone :T

Cheerfulness.... i think the award for 1st to the valentines target is yours _party_

Just made flour tortillas filled with chicken salad for lunch yumyum ....here is the recipe for the tortilla (different to the one i posted that i was going to use)-they are stunning, and filling ;) -have used 4 up and the other 4 are going to be frozen for later in the week...hubby has requested them at least once a week :T
Thought this might come in usefull on here as a change to "bread" and there are so many things you can do with them...they are plain but im going to see what flavourings they suggest...

    CHEWY SOFT FLOUR TORTILLA
    2 CUPS PLAIN FLOUR
    1 ½ TSP BAKING POWDER
    1TSP SALT
    2TSP VEG OIL
    ¾ CUP WARM MILK

Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl
    Whisk milk, oil and salt
Pour into flour -stirring to mix
Once mixed -turned out onto a lightly floured worktop and knead for 2 mins
Cover and leave for 15 mins -it won’t rise but needs to relax
Cut into 8 balls (approx 50g each)
Cover and leave to relax for 10 mins
Roll each one out into a round -approx 8”
Heat a heavy frying pan (preferably cast iron)
Drop in one tortilla and turn after about 2 mins -the surface should bubble
Place inside a dry tea towel to keep warm whilst you cook the rest

Sorry i didn't get back about the cornedbeef cakes yesterday - I was just making the recipe up as i went along :p ..and they are still in the fridge as huby fancied a gyros...his treat as he had just got paid..i managed about 1/3 and was stuffed ...and the feeling lasted all evening  .. so next time we are going to get one between us :rotfl:
The cornedbeef cakes are being done tonight with the HM oven chips made with egg white -so i will report back if they are worth it or not....

Rockie :T -Thats it...put yourself first..your health and happiness is what matters :D and anyway -we like to see you on here with us :p

Saversarn.... enjoy your break and make the most of it... you will soon make up for it once you are back home. Hope you are having a great time

Where are all the usual suspects?
Frogga... taplady (work probably), kitty, newlywed? woohooo to you all and anyone else i miss :D

right im getting off to sort out my veg seeds... all 40 odd packs of them :o and then im going to x stitch :D

keep up the good work everyone..and have a great day :D

Got some watercress and rocket salad at Tesco's marked down to 9p. Made it into a watercress soup which we are having with bread from the Christmas Breadmaker... rather tasty. Busy week replacing locks, credit cards etc from our burglary. Others in the street had cars taken as well as stuff from the house. Ours was house, car keys and handbag with camera and credit cards. Not nice. First time been a victim of crime in half a century.

thought i should mention that anyone who falls into the category of obese should be able to get extra help from their doctor if they want it. there are 2 tablets, xenical which removes 30% of the fat from your diet (with unpleasant side effects if you cheat and eat too much fat) and reductil which is supposed to curb your appetite (not recommended for anyone on anti depressants).

  • M.E. - hugs. :grouphug: Hope you feel a bit better about it soon. It's a horrible thing to have happened.
I was pleased when I won my juicer, but the juices would be so expensive for me to make. And I always want to eat all my fruit. It is a really good one tho but I was after the 1st prize of a years supply of groceries.

MrsMc - Big smile on DS1 face now I have your tortilla recipe. Think I'll have a cook up today. My CB cakes were falling apart everywhere. Maybe I should have let the potato mix go cold before the quick fry.

Irishmummy - bet you're pleased with that weight loss. ;) There have been some great tips and recipes on here that I've found really helpful. All the best for you weigh in tomorrow. :)

Got the rest of the day to ourselves so I'm off to bake, x stitch and watch some more Dinnerladies. :D

    hello again everyone

it was weigh day for me yesterday but the super duper scales in Boots say that I have put on 2lbs!!!

(It is the "wrong time of the month" though so am hoping this would account for it-however I also seem to have grown .3 of an inch taller as well????)

Hopefully next week will be better!

Well done to all the losers and hugs to all who are having a bad week!

    Hi All,

It's treat day for us as we do the shopping on a Saturday. Came in at 43 euros this week. Not as bad as last week's 51 euros but quite a bit more than we were spending on the same items this time last year.

We treated ourselves to a box of tiny icecream lollies this week - 6 each will last us all week at one per day. OH also had various other treats but we made sure that they were ones that won't tempt me!

    Breakfast: the usual muesli etc.

Lunch: Pitta bread with a 100% beef burger and onions. Mini icecream lolly. Water.

Tea: not sure yet but probably boiled egg and toast and a piece of fruit. Water

It's cool and cloudy today and OH is suffering from the after effects of a migraine so I don't think we'll be going out for a walk today. It feels like the sort of afternoon for curling up on the settee with a book.

Well done to all the losers.

    Rose

Snacks: banana, apple, milky coffees made with skimmed milk.

  • Hi, everyone

I'm coming to join you (again:o ) as I'm sick of paying £5.50 a week to WW for it not to work - and I think that what you're all doing is so much more realistic.

    So far today:
    Breakfast: 5 Ryvita
Snack 1 hot cross bun (no butter or spread)
Lunch: 2 big crispbreads with coleslaw, a little cheese and 3 tiny slices salami

Dinner : Madhur Jaffrey lamb curry that I made yesterday - so I can pick all the fat off the top, HM naan bread (dh and the dkids will have rice as well - but I don't need both and I'd rather have a little bit of naan)

Aiming just for the first stone to start with - dh has promised me a bead for my bracelet for each stone lost - and I'll get too depressed otherwise.

    Good luck everyone

    Hi Thriftmonster - and welcome!
I've not posted for a few days as I knew last w/e had thrown a spanner in the works, entertaining and all. However, this week I've tried hard - I do wish I enjoyed the porridge, but it definitely fills me up until lunchtime, so am persevering! Have lost a pound since last Friday, so am quite pleased. Hope it's helping reduce my chlorestrol and blood sugars too!
