Hi everyone - hope you are all having a good day!
homealone you are not alone, I (along with probably everyone else) know where you are coming from. For me I have to keep trying, I refuse to give up. When things are particularly difficult, I consider the alternative which is to carry on eating rubbish, getting so fat that my health breaks down, eventually being unable to leave my room and then finally being carried out to the morgue by a load of firemen with their heavy lifting gear! I know this is extreme but I fear this is where my overeating will leave me. After contemplating that little scenario I don't feel so 'deprived'.
Like many others here I have difficulty doing this just for myself ( issues of self worth etc) but I do feel able to keep going for my husband and especially my children.
Anyway, my eating hasn't been too bad over the last few days. I have been using plenty of fresh veg in my cooking and although I am not a great lover of fruit, I have just made the most gorgeous smoothie from some frozen berries, a banana and some orange juice. It tasted really fresh and lovely.
Two of my little dumplings are home from school today with the dreaded bug so I have deliberately not eaten too much just in case I catch it too!
It was like the scene from the Exorcist yesterday when it came to bedtime, projectile doesn't even begin to describe it     They seem a little brighter today but all they are getting is a bit of toast later on.
Well. I'm off for now, the sun is shining (at last) so I can take my dog out before I get the smallest dumpling from school.0 -
Afternoon ladies and gent. Doing well so far today (apart from the two quality street I had after lunch, but they were coconut so fruit right? :rotfl: ) Porridge with lots of sultanas and a little bit of maple syrup for brekkie and a cheese and pickle sandwich for lunch (on HM bread) As the sun is shining I'm gonna go for a quick walk in a minute. Think I'll pop along to the post box then walk round the block on my way back rather than straight back along the road. It'll only take me 10/15 minutes but half of it'll be uphill and every little counts. The book my mum ordered me for christmas finally came this morning so will probably sit and read that when I get in. Not sure what we're having for dinner. Mum brought some liver yesterday so maybe liver and bacon (one of my favourites
).
Don't know if anyone else has seen this in the news http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/01/24/nobese124.xml Made me think I should stay fat for a while longer. That really would be MS :rotfl:
MrsM - The boots scales tell you your height as well (probably the same machines). Apparently I'm an inch taller than I thought. I did have my shoes on tho so maybe not
Ok, off for my walk now before the sun goes in.I'm through accepting limits'Cuz someone says they're soSome things I cannot changeBut till I try, I'll never know!0 -
Hi Everyone!
Thought I'd check in with you all (just put the cottage cheese down first!). Had good and bad days this week as always opened a tin of celebrations at home on friday night and it was all gone by Sunday night!! I'm sure the kids and hubby ate most of them honest!!
Thursday night is my weigh in so I'm being mega good today, but then I'm always a bit wicked at the weekends!
Will let you know how it goes, wishing you all well and well done to all the losers out there!!0 -
Hi All,
Well done all those sticking to their portion control and just keep trying those who are struggling.
Just had a lovely walk along the beach. We went further than normal and came out by the little bar in the Village Square so stopped for a Coke before tackling the hill back home. Walked for about an hour and ten minutes and sat for 20 minutes. I managed to get my feet and ankles wet crossing a stream where it joined the sea as I sank in up to my ankles. I must be too heavy for the size of my feet as OH didn't get wet at all!!
Had another good day food wise.
Breakfast: Muesli etc. with raisins and skimmed milk. Pineapple juice.
Lunch: 2 slices of wholemeal toast with smearing of butter and lots of raspberry jam. Banana. 2 glasses of water.
Snacks: Another banana, orange, Coke. Milky coffees made with skimmed milk.
Dinner: Chicken stir fried with loads of vegetables and some rice. Yoghurt with lemon juice and tsp of sugar. More water.
Keep up the good work everyone.

@pigpen - well even with getting one meal and stock off the one chicken, surely there would be enough " picked " scraps of chicken to make a substantial soup rather than just stock ? what is it that your family hate about the veggie burgers ? you could cook them and maybe disguise them by cutting them in pieces and cooking them a little bit more in a tomato-ey pasta sauce ?
With the cauli, if you can't stretch the cheese to making a cheese sauce ( using mustard in the bechamel helps with flavouring if you don't have much cheese ) you could make a kind of Woolton Pie - there are a few variations on this, either gently cooking the veggies inc. the cauli and some of your frozen ones in a little bit of stock with some herbs and a bit of marmite if you like it, thickening it up a bit at the end and topping with pastry or mashed potato ( maybe serve with baked beans and/or jacket/roast spuds ? ) or you could use the same veggies with a cheese sauce as suggested and topped as before or covered with fresh breadcrumbs to make a veggie bake.
The chicken fillets, courgettes, onions, peppers, carrots and yellow toms say " stir fry " to me. Lamb lump , LOL ! Slow braise in oven or slow cooker with onions and root veggie ? chicken pieces - do an oven baked hm version of KFC with potato wedges ?
dunno how helpful that has been but at least I tried" Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.. "~ November 8th 2008. Now totally DEBT FREE !~0
