Two very stressful days. We were burgled when we were asleep (forced front door). Several houses nearby too. They took my handbag with cards, cameras, keys and a little cash and passport. Passport and driving licence were recovered (phew) thrown out of the getaway car. Our car wasn't taken (other houses not so lucky, their's were).
So day spent replacing locks, cancelling cards (no money taken!!!), fingerprinting and providing statements and cups of coffee to very helpful police.
However I have not delved into food as a comfort.....
So to all stressed out people... we don't need food to comfort ourselves..... just the help and confidence from our virtual friends here.
    Thankyou

    Evening all,

M.E. - sounds like a horrendous few days, hope you've sorted everything out now.

Kittyscarlet- Thanks for the list of snacks the other day, you can take some of the credit for my weightloss this week :D

Today, pretty much stuck to plans, but my plan was to be a bit naughty anyway :o

    B - Porridge with raisins & honey & cinnamon
L - HM Carrot & corriander soup with a cheesey pitta bread & 3 naughty puff pastry squares (about 6cmx6cm each)
D - Pie!!! I didn't eat the pastry, left most of my roast pots & one 'n'alf yorkshires, so mainly just had chicken pie filling, roast parsnips.
Snacks - Yoghurt, banana, raisins, choc orange muffin (1 only!) 2 x bread & butter.

Tomorrow, planning on a better day, more porridge, more soup, made some bread today by hand which is nicer than anything my BM's ever produced so probably a fair bit of that, dinner will be something nice and easy like pasta in sauce or something. And a muffin. Can't forget the muffin.

Hope everyone has had a good day,
    Stacie

    Evening ladies n gents

    M.E -

what an awful thing to happen -glad everyone is OK...and well done on not comfort eating, although im sure no-one would have blamed you if you had....

    Cheerfulness...

don't think you are the only one ;) ..when i first tried bagels i couldn't understand what everyone was raving about them for -it was like chewing a bath sponge..until i realised...okok -was told that you are supposed to toast them :p
I made pittas for the 1st time today :T -i did it by hand but it is a BM recipe.....
    • 3/4 cup tepid water (about 180ml)
    • 1tbsp sunflower oil
    • 1tsp salt
    • 3 cups bread flour (about 400g)
    • 1tsp yeast (i used 7g fresh)
    1. set on "dough" setting
    2. tip out and knead for 2 mins
    3. divide into 10
    4. shape into balls and place on a greased baking tray
    5. cover with oiled film and leave to rise for about 20 mins
    6. using a floured rolling pin roll each into an oval shape approx - 1/4" thick
    7. return to baking trays and leave to rise for a further 15 mins
    8. pre-heat oven to highest setting
    9. when dough has risen bake for 5 mins (if they need longer reduce temp to 190c/375f/gas5
    10. transfer to cooling rack and cover with clean tea towel to cool a little before using...
They were lovely -im not normaly much of a fan of pittas but these will be done again ;) hubby went crazy about them.. but next time i think i will try baking at a lower temp...and use a drop more liquid..

My next mission is to try flat bread/wraps yumyumyum, followed by piklets and crumpets :p

I think a lot of people try and sabbotage weight loss efforts -even if it isn't deliberate... Your mum just might be so used to the relationship you both have that she sees your losing weight as "changing" your relationship... but well done on resisting and bless OH for being annoyed on your behalf :T . My mums used to be "well if you aren't having (say a piece of cake) - i won't bother either" -so now when she pulls that one - she gets to go without too ;)

Kittyscarlett.. I won't mention pastries again -well not until you have room for some :rotfl:

Newlywed -hope OH is in a bit better mood tonight... Men don't get that doing the "quiet moody" thing doesn't work with us ladies..we want to know what is wrong and why don't we ;)

Frogga - i think Rodney is a lovely name -my ex racing greyhound was called rupert :p ...a name he had before i had him mind ;) . Glad pooch is Ok too... poor little mite...

Well -not much done by the way of exercise today..bad bad bad... so i WILL go for a wander tomorrow... even if its just "there and back again to see how far it is"...weigh day friday..must get this backside shifting

well i will get off again...
Keep up the good work everyone...valentines is nearly upon us  ..
    have a great night everyone:D

Another busy evening!!! God my life is just one long merry go round! :rotfl:

Really bad luck M.E , thats horrid! Well done on not turning to the food though :j

Rodney is non the worse for his adventure yesterday. His brother is called Del boy :o , named by the Tadpoles you understand!

Well, you'll all laugh when I tell you that this evening we bought another car  I knew Mr Frog wouldn't cope with the cold nights on a motorbike. It is only a small VW Golf so should be economical, cheep to tax and only £60 for the year insurance :D Will be nice to have a little run around of my own again. Mr Frog had decieded to sell the M Bike as he was taking too many risks going fast and it was too dangerous. The money we get should cover the £300 I paid for the Golf and stick £1500 in the bank to pay off the OD. Good news all round.

Oh, and o a weight loss theme, managed to get in and out of the Coop with out buying any CCE's :j I just remembered what Saversarn told me and I did't want one :D Pats on the back for Frogga me thinks please :T

Hope you enjoy your walk tomorrow MrsM, are you going ALL the way there and back? Blimey that IS along way ;)

Have a good evening anyone else who comes on today ;)

  • Yet again thanks MrsMc for the recipe and also the words of wisdom. ;)

In all honesty I've been completely out of sorts since this afternoon and totally at a loss to know why really. Initially I didn't want mum to know I was losing weight cos of the pressure but I go and tell her what I've lost without prompting and feel all disappointed that she didn't give me a 'well done'.

I suppose it's just that if I had a daughter that was morbidly obese (which sadly I am) then I'd be relieved to see her getting better.

Okay self pity over. I'll get a grip. :o

M.E. - That must have been horrible. It's dreadful that they have the nerve to strike in more than one home, but apparently that is common.
We had someone try to break into our house but the neighbours saw and called police. Idiots didn't realise that we were away because we'd had a house fire. House was all but empty but they came back TWO more times and ripped the garden off. Both on same day! They even stole the ladders that we'd used to rescue our kids. The police told us they are fearless these days. I have another name for them.

Right, tomorrow is another day, right girls & orph, so I'm away to end this one and wake up bright and cheerful in the morning.

    Night everyone.

I knew it! That's put a smile on my face. :D I have visions of you calling them when they do that 'turn a deafen' thing when they know its 'lead on' time.

And well done on resisting the CCeggs. ;)

just a quickie before I dive in the bath - just got home from work!

Frogga - am so glad Rodney's ok :j

M.E. - sorry to hear about your burglary!

Foodwise I have been good today if you discount the snacks! I treated myself to a basr of Thorntons white choccie this afternoon and have also had a jammie dodger(only 1) plus this morning after my muesli I had a big slice of HM bread toasted!

No weigh in for me this week as I was at work so need to shift that last pound by next Wednesday!

Off to the bath, see you in the morning!
    Do what you love :happyhear

    HI all,

In and out quickly, skipped the weigh-in at the SW club with the leader I don't like. I have eaten without control for the last week and will certainly done a lot of damage to my weight.

Premenstrual and perimenopausal, what a combination huh?

Hope you are all well, and wanted to say I shall be back once I feel a bit more human.

    Love to all

Hello all. Well I braved the super scales in boots today and not happy. They say I'm more than my scales at home do plus my BMI is 35 (ten over the top range of healthy) and my body fat mass thingy is 10% over the average and even more over the good  I was good tho, I didn't rush and buy chocolate. I did have the last mince pie after lunch tho. Oh well at least they're all gone now! Was feeling really snacky this afternoon so decided to toast some pumpkin seeds with a little bit of curry powder. However in the process of doing this the dried sage jumped out the cupboard at me and went everywhere so as I had to get the hoover out to clean that up I decided I'ld hoover the rest of downstairs as well. Managed to knock a mug over on the coffee table with the hoover lead, smashed a big chip out of it and then got a splinter of mug in my finger whilst picking it up! The things I do for weight loss

Anyhoo, off to bed now. G'night all.
    I'm through accepting limits

    Morning all.

OH still not really himself but hoping he'll get over it soon ;)
He wasn't even too grumpy this morning when I made him a cuppa and didn't realise the milk was off :o (I don't have milk in mine so I wouldn't know)

Sorry to hear about your burglary ME. Horrid to think they were there when you were asleep. Glad no-one was hurt, and the only loss is "stuff". I know that doesn't make it better but hopefully most of the stuff is replaceable with insurance money.

HI frogga - well done on resisting the evil eggs :p It does get easier ;) As for Rodney and Delboy, I know someone who wanted to call their dog Bilbo (as in Baggins) but his wife said she's not shouting that out in the park/street in case it gets misheard :rotfl:

Breakfast was porridge with the last of the stewed fruit.
Lunch is couscous and sun dried toms - no money and not much in.
Tea is pork slices (frozen from a previous roast) with veg.

Snacks are - nowt until I go and get more milk and see how much money I have left ;)

Worked out yesterday that OH's 3 small meals during the day (not including breakfast or evening meals) cost me about £15 a week  no wonder I can't keep the grocery and cleaning budget down to £40 a week and I have to eat leftovers!!

Hope everyone has a good day today.
