Hiya, yep, thrilled to bits, still got loads to go before I'm a healthy weight but its such a boost because I *really* havent missed out this week, been stuffing my face almost constantly but with better things than I was before. Anyway, the choc orange muffins were basically the recipe below from Sainsburys with some substitutions (we had 3 oranges to use, made into zest, juice & pulp)
75g margarine
375g self-raising flour, sieved
1 teaspoon baking powder
75g caster sugar (I used 50g sugar & 25g pulp - I tried it before putting it in and its really sweet)
100g chocolate chips (plus a bit of cocoa powder in ours)
2 medium size eggs, beaten
300ml milk (I used 175ml - skimmed - Milk & 100ml orange juice, the rest came from the pulp)
grated zest of 2 oranges (3 in our case)
They are delicious! I will be having one later (as one of my 5 a day!!)
(Gas mark 5 for 25-30mins, makes 12 big muffins or 18 smaller ones)0 -
Weighed in for first time this morning - lost 1 lb - a bit disappointed but I am a bit PMT. The only prob with having done WL before is your body doesn't respond very quickly and you haven't got big changes to make.
Still 1lb in 6 days is a start and I know I've been eating better - will weigh in regularly on a Wed am so that it fits in with the Lose weight 18 thread on i wanna boardI'd rather be watching CSI!0 -
Morning everyone
cheerfulness - your tea bread sounds lovely - thanks for that. I do the same with muffins, I make them and freeze them, and just take them out one at a time. I've got a great recipe for blueberry muffins which I'll post at the weekend, and I make them in fairy cake cases rather than muffin ones, so they're smaller.
I agree with you to a certain extent about pitta bread being like cardboard on their own, but I do like them stuffed with things. If you've got leftover roast lamb, for instance, you can stuff a pitta with lettuce/cherry toms/cuc etc etc and the lamb, and then mix some mint sauce with yogurt and drizzle over the top and it's delish. I also like salads in them with a bit of leftover chicken with a dollop of pesto. You definitely need moist fillings to take the dryness away. HOWEVER, I also like them toasted, cut into strips, and dipped in houmous (or baked camembert  ) and are a good crisp substitute.
iamstacie - well done - that's a fantastic loss :T
likklegibbon - don't be despondent about losing weight - it's in the right direction - well done :T
Well, yesterday wasn't so hot really.
B: oat crunchy/sk milk
L: red lentil/carrot soup with unbuttered slice brown breadveg. pasta sauce & spg - ate hardly any due to earlier binge
Snacks: satsuma, apple, Big Eat ready salted crisps, Prawn cocktail crisps - normal size, bite of chocolate, 1/2 slice brown toast with marg and lime marmalade, 8 x choc orange slices
Drinks: water x 3, herbal tea x 1, decaf tea/sk milk x 3, decaf tea/semi milk x 2, cranberry/raspberry juice
Exercise: 20 min walks x 4, 10 min walks x 2, climbed/descended 14 flights stairs, walked not stood on escalators
Triumphs: kept movings on escalators, climbed flights of stairs instead of lift, ate yummy soup for lunch and despite a binge, managed to make a meal for supper instead of buying a takeaway :T
On trying to analyse my binge, I think it was comfort eating due to a spat with my boss  Still trying to move on - today is another day.
Have a good one everyone
rumbly x0 -
Well I haven't posted in ages, but this doesn't mean I haven't been watching the portion sizes and moving more.
I don't do scales - they're never big enough and I refuse to go on the ones is Boots, so don't expect me to give weights.
I do however have news ..... since September my bust/back measurement has gone from a 48" back to a 44" and my waist has gone from 56" to 51":j :j :jFat and proud lol0 -
Afternoon everyone
just a quick one from me again-im getting the knack of this
Congratulations on the weigh and the inches shed everyone :j
Bit late today..trying to catch up with some chores before parking my bum
So i have vaccumed through and then carved the gammon up into portions and frozen it - and turned the little bits left into 6 x 5" quiches.... hubby has just demolished one when he poped in for lunch..lots of appretiative noises were heard whilst he chomped
I used the bit of leftover pastry with a bit of ham some of the onions and a grating of cheeses and turned it into a mini pasty... and I enjoyed every last crumb mmmmmmm
..... I missed brekkie and that was my lunch -so just dinner to sort out now....It was going to be quiche and salad-but since hubby has just had one i think i might do prawn salad instead
Newlywed..... can't believe he actually put his hands over his ears  ... i would have been so tempted to slap his legs and tell him to stop acting like a toddler..not that it would have helped much i imagine! Hope things are sorted soon..
Frogga -hope you have caught up with yourself by now.. i hate rushing -i never seem to catch up with myself-hence my obsession with being early for everything
hope everyone is having a good day, keep up the good work folks..off i go again-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

I was very very tempted to kick him out of the bed actually, specially when he started snoring shortly after  But that would just have made him worse and he'd probably have stopped talking to me completely then - which really seriously gets me angry! (my dad used to do it all the time - just glare and not talk to you coz you'd done something, but not tell you what you'd done and just glare at you if you asked, like you were supposed to know )
IT'S SO FRUSTRATING - all it accomplishes is to make me really angry - why do people do it?working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
not got myself weighed yet as only started the challenge last week. was 10 st 5lb at the start.
just troffed my way through a bag of steak and onion crisps... tut tut.
