    Evening everyone.

    Happy Birthday Saversarn.

Well I took fruit etc to work with good intentions today. But my food never got out my bag. I did have a apple later this afternoon though. The clients I work with have severe learning disabilitys and challenging behaviours. I was on holiday last week and lots has happened to one particular client. So much so its nearly one to one. Its been stressful and physically heavy. So food wise I did have toast midmorning an apple mid afternoon. But I did cook a cornbeef hotpot for them and had some of that. Oh and Ive had two choccie biscuits. Back on track tomorrow girls.

Im going to whizz through the messages then chill for a while.

    Evening everyone :D

Are posts disappearing again then? haven't noticed  ..

I don't like cream eggs :T ..they are so sickly sweet bleughhhhh

Alibow....thats the programme i meant :rotfl: ...... i have pulled up the website before and the recipes are on there ;) ..will have to have another look at what else is on there tomorrow:D -Im refraining from buying cookerybooks at the moment -they are taking over the house :o and im being super frugal at the moment :A Combined with this thread i have only spent just under €50 this month on groceries and am not planning on spending any more until the Feb grocery challenge starts :D

Glad to see you back where you should be frogga :T -you will beat this -you know you will ;) .
Fruit is great 1st thing in a morning but you will need "something" after ... I tell you what is good..a squeeze of fresh lemon juice in a small glass of warm water first thing you get up(you soon get used to the taste), it wakes up the tastebuds and gets your system going...helps with "loo" matters too ;) . But you need some brekkie mrs...

Think i will start posting a few more recipes over the next few days... think we could all do with some extra ideas to keep thing fresh....

Im having a bash at making pittas later this week -just for a change from HM bread.... and flour wraps too -we used to love those.

Another quick one from me.... am off to sort out some new meal ideas for February...

    Have a good evening everyone:D

    Greetings one and all,

Not the best of days on the wieght loss front - two of the kids at work had a huge fight (I work with teenagers and young adults with Autism, Aspergers, Learning Disabilities etc) and caused lots of damage to themselves, the building and the staff so, after the police, parents and paramedics were sorted out, I took everyone to the pub after work for a 'de-brief'.

As most of us had missed lunch in the chaos, we ordered food and I somehow seemed to have by-passed the salads and had a fantastic fish- finger bap with lime mayo and chunky wedges. BAD BAD BAD

On the good side, as I was driving, I only had 1 pint.

Frogga - I think you've blown your cover. Thanks for your brave post - it appears that you're only human after all! If it comes to those of us who stuff ourselves because we feel crap and unworthy, lets form an orderly queue - I'm right behind you and my guess is, by the end of tomorow, we'll have enough to start a conga.......................

  • Morning all,

Some of you have been having a really stressy week, haven't you? Got a feeling that Orph and Boddy must have needed the extra cals after using all that energy, not even counting the emotional side.

chocolate orange muffins?? - YUM stacie. you lucky girl. :D

I've never known what you do with pitta bread. Had one once and it tasted like cardboard. Why are they so popular? Had mine just from the packet but was I supposed to have heated it up?

Stuck to my menu pretty much yesterday. Changed from boiled egg to an egg salad sandwich at lunchtime and felt all the better for it.

    Today:
    Readybrek
    HM bean soup
HM Botham burger in HM seedy bap with salad

    Snacks still clementines and oranges.

About to try my 'healthy option' fruit tea bread recipe today, as I love malt loaves and tea bread. Found this recipe lurking in my folder from yonks ago and completely overlooked it.

    Fruit tea bread
    170g/6oz dried fruit
300ml/10floz strong tea (I use earl grey)
    20g/3/4 oz sugar

Mix above and leave to stand for minimum of 20 mins. (I leave overnight)

The add to the wet mixture:

Zest and juice of 1 orange
    1 egg
    300g/101/2 oz WML flour
    1tsp baking powder
    1tsp ground cinnamon

Pour into a 2lb loaf tin and bake on Gas3/160oC/325oF for 35 mins.

    Serves 12
    cals 130 per slice
    Fat 1g per slice

I find tea breads really filling and freeze and thaw as I fancy. ;) Lads like it in their pack ups too for breaktime.

    Morning everyone.

Well weigh in today and Ive lost another 1lb. Not a lot but Im going in the right direction.

Im defo saving money by eating fresh rather than processed stuff. I saw an article in the paper by a life coach who doesnt !!!!! foot around re being overweight he calls a spade a spade. But his eating advice is basically what has been said on here. I sometimes use a visualization approach to chocolate. I look at it and imagine it covered in something that makes me feel sick. It could be anything you want but enough to put you off having it. I wont say what mine is but it does work.

    Have a good day everyone.

Not really to be honest  He's talking and being polite but there's something bugging him and he won't say what. He won't come anywhere near me and I have to ask for a hug and did at least get an extremely reluctant one. Dunno what's going on but last night when I tried to get him to talk he put his hands over his ears and turned his back to me  It's like he expects me to know what's going on inside his head without him saying a single word about it! - They say women are difficult but honestly!!!!

So didn't sleep well last night and this morning breakfast was porridge and half a pack of biscuits :o

No-one else seems to be at work yet either so it's just me and I'm wondering why I'm here.

Lunch is ham rolls (don't really want them but only have 57p in my purse till payday which could clear Fri, Sat, Mon or Tues - no idea as yet).

Tea is smoke pork sausage, veg and gravy. (I know it's high fat but I do choose the reduced fat one).

    ....ooops sorry frogga ;)

  • Morning all & guten morgen to MrsM

Well, a week is up and today is the day of truth, I practically skipped out of bed this morning and pounced on my bathroom scales, I tend to get a bit obsessive about them when I'm trying to lose weight, getting on at least once a day then starving or binging depending on what they say, this time round I haven't done that as I'm trying to make a lasting change for the sake of my & my OHs health rather than just another desperate attempt to lose weight. That said, the scales were very nice to me this morning, telling me I've lost.................

    5lbs!!!!

Happy days :) I think this conclusively proves chocolate orange muffins & parsley dumplings are good for you. In all seriousness, I'm not really trusting it and I think next week/next month will give a better representation of whether this HE is paying off, although to be honest, this past week has highlighted to me what sort of things I was eating without thinking about it, I've turned down 2 takeaways on my nightshifts (£10 saved), turned down loads of biscuits, taken HM soup to work rather than buying either hot food (generally with chips/wedges) or a filled baguette (another £6 saved) so quite pleased with the way things have gone lb & £ wise. Only 4lb to go before I'm into the next stone

Anyway, today I have had some porridge with raisins, honey & cinnamon. Lunch will probably be either carrot & corriander or leek & 'tato soup. Dinner will be a chicken, mushroom & sweetcorn pie I made yesterday  Snacks will be bananas, clementines, raisins/apricots, a yoghurt, a oatmeal & raisin cookie, and maybe (read: definately) a choc orange muffin with a cup of real coffee later.

Hope everyone has a good day,

    Stacie
