Sorry frogga - forgot you like the 1st post - pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzze forgive me, I'm new and penitent
I'm glad I don't like Cadbury's Creme Eggs cause OH reckons they're like pringles and designed to make you eat more.
Have you tried imagining they are something that you absolutely hate when you eat them? Or the old elastic band pinging on the wrist aversion therapy?I'd rather be watching CSI!0 -
I do forgive you Gibbon as us animals have got to stick together
I will try and think of them as something yucky, good idea :T What could that be? A real egg maybe?
I had the elastic band on the wrist once ~ it was SO embarrassing. People either kept asking me why I had an elastic band on my wrist, or they knew why and thought I was a fruit cake! Ooo fruit cake , yum! Oh god I REALLY have a problem here!Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

HI frogga. Good to see you
Firstly, know what you mean about trying to be good enough. I get really depressed if OH gets annoyed about stuff and in my head it goes all out of proportion and I go a bit - mental I suppose. At least I've finally realised it's MY HEAD that's the problem
As for fruit for breakfast - goes through you so fast do you honestly expect it to keep hunger at bay??? Only thing I've found that works is porridge (made with water) - add fruit to it, raisins, cinnamon, touch of syrup - yum (or cocoa powder and sugar on a bad day). My sister was different (she would be ) found she had to have protein for breakfast or else she'd be starving an hour later.
As to the cream egg thing - I don't eat them any more as I get addicted. And the lovely yellow middle - full of colourings that give me eczema - so they really don't do me any good. Haven't had one for a couple of years and although I'd eat one if I was given it, have managed not to buy any for ages either
So you've worked out your triggers, you're half way thereworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Ooh just thought, instead of chocolate, biscuits and cakes, my treat is tootie fruities or malt loaf. Satisfies the need for something sweet, I don't feel like I'm deprived as I love them, but they are still low fat. For some reason, they don't seem to trigger me off to eat everything in sight either.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

Afternoon all. Not been too bad so far this week foodwise. Haven't had a lot of exercise tho. Will definetley be getting some tomorrow tho as its jobcentre day so I'll have to walk to and from the bus stop and have a potter round town whilst I'm there. Planning on popping into boots and braving the talking super scales :rotfl: I got a phone call today asking me to come along to a recruitment day/interview at my local theatre so thats put me in a good mood.
MrsM - Do you mean 'Cook youself thin'? If so I have the book that goes with the show and its got some brilliant recipes in. If you've got someone in the UK who could post it to you I saw it cheap in The Works a couple of weeks ago.
Frogga - One of my best mates is like that with creme eggs. I love them but I can't manage more than one at a time, too sickly (plus they make my teeth hurt!). Cadburys mini eggs however... :EasterBun
Saversam - Happy Birthday
Rightyho I'm off to make some more bread (sis was quite miffed that I hadn't made it in time for her lunch today  ) and get the sausages out the freezer for sausage caserolle tonight. To start with i was waiting for that "blip" moment to happen -it was a case of WHEN not IF it would happen, but it hasn't
I think that the stage that I'm at. I'm only on my 4th week but usually before now the novelty has worn off, the big first week weightloss has dwindled to the lb and I'm feeling deprived. NOT this time.
The reason I got thinking about this was because someone said that they couldn't sustain their weightloss before because it total absorbed them, making their life one track. That's been me before....... mine was only 80 length a day, tho MrsM, clearly didn't have your stamina.
Maybe this time it's because I've got bigger fish to fry than just losing weight. It's only one thing I'm sorting out... digging ourselves out of our financial situation is the most exciting.
Oh and my new obsession with x-stitch.My new 'cafe by the sea' kit arrived today and I'm !!!!-a-hoot. :j
Frogga - you can't afford cceggs, you said so a few posts back. Bad girl.
Actually can understand about the 'perfectionist' bit. (and the cc eggs if I'm honest. ) Read this book once that was on about accepting that its ok to be just 'good enough.' Took a while but now I really believe it.
It used to spoil everything, even hobbies cos I was thinking nothing I did was right... now I don't worry.
Bahhh I'm babbling. Twas a good book, tho. Probably Susan Jeffers. My doc recommended it.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Yes, what did happen to the rest of your post MrsM, hope the gremlins didnt get ya ! :P
Happy birthday saversarn, hope you have a lovely day
Frogga, it does sound like you need more than just fruit in the morning - can't remember if you like nut butters or whether that falls into the yukky camp ? maybe some fruit and some kind of nut butter on bread/crackers/crispbread/oatcakes in the morning. I hope the vegan chocolate helps keep off the CCE cravings. I don’t deny myself things but the problem comes for me when I say I’m going to be moderate with the foods that I know I should be eating very infrequently and then I just give in to weakwilledness and scoff. And then I feel like a hypocrite for going on about trying to eat healthily to other people when Ive just downed double doses of crisps, chocolate, cheese sandwiches etc.
Today has been ok. Didn't eat till about 12.30 as got up late and then prevaricated about going in to town. Probably about 30 mins brisk walking.
Lunch - bought ham and cheese sandwich. Ended up not eating half of it, didnt enjoy it. Three big sticks of celery, handful of watercress, two big tomatoes. Packet of Walkers Lights. Half a Waitrose chocolate muffin - not actual restraint, I just couldn't finish it, it was too dry !!
Dinner : hm potato and watercress soup ( small chopped onion, small chopped potato, some sliced cloves of garlic and a little bit of rosemary and sage from the garden simmered in swiss marigold bouillon stock and then blitzed with half a bag of watercress at the end ) with the other half bag of watercress as a salad with grated carrot, grated raw turnip, tomatoes, and cooked beetroot and a dash of salad cream. Was very tasty ! and have enough soup for another bowful for me for tomorrow.
Will have supper later - probably ryvita, apples, bit of cheese and some milk
PS yes, it looks like some posts are disappearing including mine asking what's going on - quelle surprise." Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.. "~ November 8th 2008. Now totally DEBT FREE !~0 -
Evening all
Had a bit of a naughty day, I had some oranges that were no good for eating anymore so my OH, with ab-so-lutely no prompting from me (yeh, right!) turned them into chocolate orange muffins. I've had just one so far, but there's ten left (providing the boghound in my avatar doesnt get them first). They're delicious. And one of my 5-a-day right? Just had some beef stew with a dumpling for dinner too, no added fat in the stew though, and the sprinkling of chilli powder I wanted to put in which came out of the tub a bit too quick and became half a tub means I'm currently sweating it all away anyway  Did loads of cooking today, couple of batches of soup (good), a pie (bad), muffins (bad) and some carbonara sauce (bad).
Frogga - sorry you've been having a bad few days (weeks?), and I'm glad I can't stand CCE although I haven't seen any lindt lindor eggs yet this year otherwise I'm sure I'd be singing a similar tune. Just keep trying, each day is a new day an' all that. What do you do for breakfast?
Stacie
