Morning everyone, hope you're all well. Weighed in this morning, another 1lb loss. Total loss since 1st Jan is now 12lb, which I'm quite pleased about. Loosing it steadily, they tell me, means it has a better chance of staying off in the long run. But I feel like I'm exercising loads, eating sensibly, and 1lb is a teeny amount.
Dad bought me a state of the art all singing all dancing Kenwood processor for Christmas, all the gadgets and everything! Scared silly of it I am :rotfl: . But all these posts about soup has made me want to get it out of the box and have a play around today. Does anybody have any particular recipes that they would recommend for food processor cooking? Or any websites perhaps? Got my busy head on now...!!
love

Morning all,
Just had cornflakes, banana and orange juice with my elder (3) grand-daughter who is the child from hell as far as eating is concerned....32 years ago her mother was just the same.
Boo...I have never yet peeled a pepper for soup, nor do I normally use butter or cream......easiest is stock ( good cube if you are stuck) carrot onion garlic some soup mix ( pearl barley, mixed lentils etc) any other veg nearing its death throes, cook, blitz and adjust seasoning and bob's your uncle...a vat takes very little longer to make than a litre, so ideal for batch cooking and freezing and cost is very little. The only veg I don't use in soup is turnip(swede) as I find the flavour takes over. I don't bother peeling veg that I am using for soup, just scrub well.
Make your own yogurt, you don't need a machine, just a vacuum flask and I think that if you want to feed yourself on £15 you will have to forget anything but the cheapest (seasonal) fruit and veg and include dried pulses too. Smoothies at £2 per week sound like a bargain but you need to work out if you can get the same amount of vitamins and fibre more cheaply.
Good luck

Hi all,
Thank you so much for the reassuring comments. I think i reached the lowest point i could last weekend so the only way is up!:j
Even after i posted the message to you last night, i still kept eating. I literally could not stop myself! Anyway like others, a line has been drawn under the weekend and now its time to move on.
Weighed myself this morning, before i did anything and i was 17 stone 4 - a loss of 3 pounds. Could have been a lot, lot more but too late now!
Weetabix for breakfast this morning, an egg salad sandwich for lunch with an orange mullerlight and some grapes. Dinner is going to be a baked potato with grated cheese and beans for tea.
Husband is away so will have to sleep all by myself in our bed for the first time everso i have plans to eat popcorn and watch a film. Will try not to eat whole bag.
Exercise wise i'm about to clean/tidy house and then have a play date this afternoon to the park (despite it being blimming freezing!)
Tomorrow evening is a catch up with the girls, but have suggested just drinks so i don't scarf down tons of pasta in creamy sauce/garlic bread/chocolate brownie/ice cream/ waffles. (although reading that back, i'm very confused as to why i said that - the food looks delicious!) Anyway, i will be on the diet coke, so should be fine.
Hope everyone is having a good day, speak later xxBack and ready to save some money!0 -

meanmarie - I choose smoothie mainly because im fussy about fruit and really grapes are the only thing I eat not in a smoothie and I also find it filling. I know the £15 a week is adventurous, forgot to point out that excludes meat as I buy a bulk order that lasts me about 3-4 months.
mikey-thanks for the recipe-how many potatoes would you say you use? If im feeling up for it I might make that on friday and freeze.0 -

thanks mhe but how do you add flavour to it, sugar etc (imagine its quite sour like this)
Is there a special kind of yoghurt you need to use as the starter?
How long will the hm yoghurt keep once its made?
Sorry for the questions, if you can help it would be appreciated.
Might have to get some grapes at aldi, I have one nearby but never really used it. Would it be cheaper for fruit, nuts etc for baking too?0
