Hi all, just been reading some of your stories and weight losses. Thought I would tell you my story!!

Joined a gym 5 years ago and now weight more that I did then!! How you ask? Well I am a yo yo exerciser and used to be a yo yo dieter. Given up the diets now and trying to eat healthy, can manage this during the day but cave in at night!! I am also a vegerarian and people often say how do manage to put on weight. Well I eat lots or bad foods, usually crisp, snacky things and chocolate!!. Most of my diet consists of carbohydrates so not sure if that is the reason.

Could any body give me some tips on how to not eat this rubbish at night and stay motivated at the gym?

Sending my love n thoughts to you and your family bigmummaF!

    Evening ladies n gents :D

Im sat here with a satisfied tummy..... duck n pancakes were -scrumdiddlyumptious if i say so myself :rotfl: -managed 4 before admitting defeat....(although they aren't those dinky ones) had it sat at the new table (which helps me feel full quicker) :D it was lovely..had a drop of red wine... about 2 mouthfulls (no coments on that being a bottle frogga :p )... can't drink much as it makes me sooooooo hot, and it goes straight to my legs:rotfl:
We have only used about 1/3 of the duck so the rest has gone in 2 lots in the freezer, and have 10 pancakes left out of 20..so they have gone in as well :rotfl: -hubby now has 2 more meals of that when he fancies it again:p
the pancakes are soooooo simple - i will post the recipe if anyone wants it.... no saying that you can only use them with duck is there ;) -loads of low fat alternatives could go in there :D

Got the membrane down in the garden, some carrots under way in a tub, have some peas peeking through :j

Had 2 nice surprises today first of all we had an e-mail with the 2nd quote for our roof...as you know -the 1st said we needed a whole new roof at £3500  .. the 2nd one was for £75 :rotfl: -to replace the damaged tiles, sort out the flashings, clean of any moss etc ...any guesses which we are going with? :rotfl: -at least it gives us time to save up the money to have a whole new roof on in time for winter -so we don't have to pay interest on it:T

the 2nd was hubby stopped off to get me some flowers on the way back from golf.. the NAFFI was closed -so he stuck €2 in the fruit machine and won €170 :j -and gave half to me :D ..sooooo glad the shop was shut :p

So all in all today has been a lovely one :T

Keiss - well done on the loss:T

Chloebelle - glad you like the mag - i think it is brilliant, very un biased rather than one company promoting its own diet.... and not all about food either, lots on peoples relationship to fod, eating etc.... I subscribed for this year and got a free Gym ball with DVD..which i left at mums like a dip stick :o
Isn't it lovely when someone comments on you looking slimmer...

Well done frogga...wouldn't mind a slice of ginger cake ;)

Rosewood.... thats brilliant... just imagine being at target in time for DS's wedding day :j ... and 1lb a week is a good loss, especially if you are still able to have a little of what you fancy and enjoy your life:D
I would rather carry on as i am, and take longer to get to target -than do what i used to do which was to forbid just about everything....yep i lost big chunks at a time... but plonked it all back on again -plus interest :o

Well done Kraftycat :T ..... and isn't it great to actually look forward to what you are going to eat -rather than just shoving it all down your throat because it is there...i enjoy my food so much more now.

Mrsdoyle - you are right -the fat is in the yolk.. but so is all the flavour ;) its a bit like asking for a bag of donuts... but only the holes :rotfl:

:T rockie.... realy pleased for you

Jackie_W -welcome back.... you don't have to leave us if you fall off the wagon... we are all tied on with bits of elastic..we may fall of occasionally but we will "twang" back eventually;)
You can eat what you wat on here..we all have different "weaknesses".... and i don't see why a biccie every day should be a problem...bet there are more cals in my blooming yoghurt.... just swapped to one that has 150cals..the others i was eating loads of were 250:rotfl: but i enjoyed them...luckily the new ones are even nicer :j otherwise i would still be eating the 250cal ones

right i had better go away and leave you all in peace- think i will have a bath and read my slim at home again....

Hello to newlywed, taplady and anyone else i have missed :D
keep up the good work everyone :D

    Evening ladies :hello:
Well, I had my HM soup and a roll for my lunch, made OH's butties and a flask and toddled off to the allotment. When I got there OH had bought me a present (so he said)................a cream doughnut  it was very nice though ;) and I have done LOTS of digging to make up for it!

Tea was veggie sausages, potato/sweet potato bake with a bit of cheese on the top and peas. I'll have my yoghurt later and I'll have a glass of wine and my snakajacks while I watch Casualty.

Tomorrow we're having a run out to the mill for bread flour so will have lunch at the garden centre - I usually have soup 'cos it's really tasty :D then home to do some work in our yard, the moss needs cleaning off and I need to dig a very large plant out of the flowerbed (exercise??)

Frogga - well done on resisting the cake :T
Rosewood - well done :T I'll be really happy if I can lose a pound a week

Mrs M - lucky you!!! Will you pass some luck over here I could do with a bit myself!

LJW - I'm a veggie and nibble at night so you're not alone. If I find a 'cure' I'll let you know! :rotfl:

Everyone else - Enjoy your evening :A

HI everyone, hope you don' mind if I join in. DS is getting married in September, and I don't want to be the fat mother of the groom :o

Joined SW last week, and was doing really well, got on my scales and thought I had lost about 3 lbs, then had a green day and had one of those packets of pasta with a herb sauce that you add water to. Then was really naughty and had 2 large glasses of wine, and think I have put it all back on

I really need some motivation before I go to get weighed on Tuesday, so will go back and read the whole thread :D
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D

    L. Leftovers of last night's pasta, coffee;

    D. Peppered steak...(half price in Tescos, won't repeat at any price!) steamed broccoli, grilled onion, 8 oven chips, salad with tsp hummous, sm slice bread.

    Snacks: about 10 dates (!)

  • Oh dear have been a bit bad this evening. Sister cooked stir fry for me but added far too much pasta, not enough veg and added prawns! Its not an unhealthy meal but I have now packed away a huge portion of carb-rich pasta.

Promised myself a glass of wine this evening but have naughtily added a ripple bar to it  . Its 176kcal, not the end of the world but naughty.

However, will stick by my promise not to beat myself up, I eat very little choc anyway but just fancied some tonight. I'll go on an extra long walk tomorrow, promise!

I am the same! I am fine during the day, but come evening after i've had my tea I really want junk food! I find for me the best thing is to just not buy it. By that I mean multi-packs etc. If I bought one packet of crisps then that would not be so bad as I would only have one to eat but if I bought a multi-pack I would eat the lot. So try (if possible, I don't know if you have a family or anything) not buying junk food or if you want to then just buy one small bar of choccie etc.
