  • Hi everyone. :)

ames - I had that problem with crisps, too. I'd eat really well and then the madness would descend in the eves and I'd whallop down pack after pack from the pack ups stash. In the end I realised that I was eating most of the crisps and the kids weren't as bothered.
Now we don't keep crisps in the house, we just buy individual when we want them and no crisps in pack ups anymore. I was shocked that they didn't miss them. Thats saved me a penny or two.

Well done to Rockie, Kraftykat, Keiss and any others that have lost since I last read up. :T :T Oh and Chloe for getting the lovely comment from mum about your hips. ;)

I was parading in front of the mirror, checking myself over both front and behind when DS1 asked what I was doing. I told him I was trying to see where the weight had gone from. His reply? 'You'll need to lose loads more before you'll see a difference.' Then he looked like  when I threw him a stroppy look.
DS2 gave me a big bear hug. He's a wee bit on the chubby side and understands, bless him. DS1 has never had an excess lb on his body and no idea. At least his supporting me with his wallet.

Saver - once I've seen off this extra 3/4 lb to merit my new tops reward, I was thinking about having my hair done as my next reward. I have med length hair in a choppy cut and it could do with a trim soon. Won't be too expensive from my mobby girl but still something that gets left when the budgets tight, so I think I could have that as my next reward. :D

Charlies_mum - hiya and welcome to the thread. :)

Must get my skates on because we've got friends round at 10 and I need to get a bath and hair wash.

    Food today:

    Readybrek
Mushrooms & dry fried egg on toast
Pork steak, roasties, steamed brussels, carrots and HM apple sauce.

Snacks - Peach flan with ice cream (other half from last week)
Mandarins (yuk really sharp) and apples.

See you all later and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Frogga- you may not have licked your fingers but you had us all licking our lips. :p

Have a good day everyone, will write a longer post tomorrow when certan people are back at work  but have a whole week of Tadpoles at home to look forward to as its half term :j :j :j :j and that means I'm off work too :T :T :T :T

  • Morning all,
The plan today is to be an :A. I'm flighting it as I was woken by DD2 cooking a fry up, there is something about the smell of bacon, however she has a BMI of 17.5 and I don't so Rachael enjoy your fry up and I'll take a cup of tea back to bed for a quick read until the evidence has gone.
I think I'll have a fruity breakfast today, as I'm cooking gammon in coca cola later (it's a Nigella recipe that has me intrigued) using slow cooker and already have had split yellow peas soaking all night to make pea & ham soup with some of the residue and planning to use rest of leftovers for gammon and pineapple stirfry in the week (oo I've come over all MrsM- was hoping to pick up some good habits on here:D)
It is a great day here too so after breakfast I'm planning to walk 45 mins to town grab a paper spend half an hour in costa coffee and walk back. Hopefully invigorated and full of good intentions.
    Have a great Sunday y'all:T

Cheerfulness a hair do is a great reward, I love having my head massaged and then a good cut- if only they would rough dry it as I hate looking like a poodle :-)

    Hey All..

I think the gremlins are definately at work in this g'damned house! Can't find one mobile, or the lead to recharge the other:o

W/I was a total waste of time----5 attempts=5 wildly different results.......like 4STONE different:D :D:D I could take the lower of course, but that would make me Kate Moss's shadow :rotfl: :rotfl:

So if you don't mind, I'll withdraw from the official challenges, & just go back to wearing smaller sized clothes till I decide what to do about new scales.

Thanks for all your support....It means more than you wil ever know. BMFx

BigMummaF.....if gauging your weight by your clothing works for you -then stick with it... you aren't on your own with that..quite a few folks on here work that way:D

Saversarn.. hope you enjoyed your walk... summer is on its way :T makes it so much easier to get yourself out n about doesn't it :D

Taplady.. my sis reckoned she would have to lose a limb to get to her goal weight... instead she ended up in hospital having that 16lb mass attatched to one of her ovaries removed, along with everything else and i think 4litres of fluid  .... although she was very impressed with the instant weight loss :rotfl: mind now bless her, the chemo is making her soooo hungry

Hasn't he just.. little terror. And I distinctly remember telling my boys that there were 3 things you NEVER asked a woman... her age, her weight and whether her jewellery was real. Bahhh they forget so fast.

The last 'love of his life' looked like my yucca tree.... straight up twig and then a bush of spikey hair. You could lift her with one hand...so can't see he'd have learnt the lesson through her.

The sun is beautiful here today too so I had a short walk in the country with our friends but I was done in after half hour so I came back. DH and lads gone back out so I shall have a couple of hours to myself and get dinner ready.

I'm 'fidgety' over food today. You know what I mean? Not really thinking of splurging but its on my mind. Had a couple of carrots but they don't really do it for me, not today anyway.
I definitely have a psycological (sp?) problem with the place that I'm at with my weight at the mo. Was over 22st when started but now I'm in the 20st's I start fretting.
Only 3 times I can remember getting beneath that to the 19's in the last 17 years. Once to 17.5 when I needed an op and then bunged it on almost immediately following it, and twice to just under 20 for a week each time. Then I lose the plot and wham the weight back on. Why? I already felt myself tense up a bit when I went under the 21 st.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I'm determined that this time I will beat it and make it to the 19s and beyond. Arghh but it does do my head in.

Shall x stitch my heart out this week and try not to dwell on it. Its half term and I can afford to relax and enjoy and break with DS2 for a change. Maybe go visit a few friends and get out of the house a bit more. Perhaps that will keep me out of trouble.

Cheerfulness.. I've been hunting roumd the house looking for something, ANYTHING to neck... My biscuit stash is secreted away in a locked chest piled high with junk.. so it is too much like hard work to get it out so there they are staying.. I'm off to the shop for some fruit I think.. at least that keeps me out of trouble (except they are doing 2 tesco celebrations cakes for £4!!! TEMPTATION!!!!!!!!!!)

You'll get below the 20st mark (I feel bit of a fraud being here now.. lol.. I'll get over it!) and you'll stay there because you'll stay here.. or we will come drag you back.. I am amazed by how much some lose in here.. it is awesome.. you are awesome.. you can do this...

  • Hi everyone,

Agree that it is a very beautiful day. Took advantage of it and did a 50min brisk walk :T . Was up till 2am last night filling my new MP3 player (b'day pressie) with music, made such a difference whilst walking.

Today's foos has been / will be:

    B. - 1 x shredded what & semi-skimmed milk

    L. - apple, orange

    D. - Roast: turkey breast, 3 potatoes, 1 yorky pud, roasted parsnips and carrots, broccoli and asparagus (feel hungry just typing it! :rotfl: )

Snacks/Treats - fruit. Bafta's are on tonight which I love so perhaps a glass of wine and a few choccies :o

Weigh day tomorrow  . Hopefully will have good news to report. I know week 1 can often be very good so am prepared for a good result but not to expect it every week.
    Total debt £21,000

  • Hi All,

Grey and windy here again today (you'll be pleased to hear that Frogga!). It feels cold to us but is actually around 17C. We had a very invigorating walk on the beach with enormous waves crashing up onto the sand. We managed to dodge them all today so no wet feet, although we had to run a few times.
As usual, we were out for about 50 minutes. We called in the shop on the way back to get some freshly baked bread but they sold the last baguette just as we walked in, much to our disappointment.

    Food today.
Breakfast: the usual muesli, fruit juice etc.
Lunch: tomato soup (not homemade I'm afraid) and 2 small pieces of bread. Bowl of homemade fruit salad.
Dinner: will be pork chop, potato (maybe mashed) and green beans. Maybe a yoghurt or maybe the rest of the fruit salad.
    Snack: orange

I bought a tape measure yesterday and was horrified to find that my waist is now more than my hips were when I first got married!! I also weigh a stone and a half more than I did when I was 9 months pregnant! I just wish it would drop off as fast as it did when I had my babies. I was under 9stone the day I came out of hospital with DD and wore a size 8 dress for the Christening!
