well im all ready for the diet from monday then. I have my shopping which includes oatcakes and some smoked mackerel, I bought honey roast as I always love that slight sweetness it gives.

Iva also found a recipe for butter bean pate which sounds good and would be equally healthy. Ill let you know how it goes!

ME - that recipe sounds fab but my indian stuff doesnt really work at home. I dont know why as I think im a quite good cook in many ways but as for these kind of things its a disaster. Maybe I should attempt again?!
  • Hi all!

    Hope you're having a good day! :D

Finally got through my last shift of the week, thank goodness so can relax and not be such a stressed mummy! :o

Am still having porridge with a little sugar, and some sugar free squash for breakfast. I then make 2 meals of salad for lunch and dinner. Yesterday i had half a wholemeal pitta with each salad.

(Salad - lettuce, cucumber, sweet corn, carrot, little grated cheese, red onion and for a treat will sometimes add some quorn 'chicken pieces' fried in a little olive oil or chop up a boiled egg - removing the yolk yuck!)

Im having a snack box with chopped cucumber, carrot and grapes in the afternoon, and a low sugar jelly with dinner.

Have been able to resist the lure of chocolate and crisps so far, and have had a SW bar (have a few in the cupboards) if im feeling the need for something sweet.

This has seemed to work quite well for me for the last few days, and now i am off work for a week i have plans to make HM pizzas for tea tonight, poss with some HM wedges. Might even defrost a slice of the hazelnut and chocolate braid i made last week :p Friday night madness!

Am still doing okay on the grocery challenge (okay so i've spent most of the money but we have lots in the cupboards!) so am not too concerned about meals!

Have to confess that i nipped on the scales and saw a loss so feeling even more motivated - might even get my rebecca wheatley dvd out later!
Back and ready to save some money! :D

Hey Gang....look away now if you're of a delicate dispostion, as some of yooze may find this next bit relates to TMI:p

Been having a good enough week thus far, then chowed down on some strawberry bonbons:mad: Result? Let's just say I wish I had a weigh-in about an hour ago:o but I've blown the GC on bog roll:D

Someone asked a few [STRIKE]thousand[/STRIKE] pages ago about why we choose where & when to weigh, & I've been meaning to answer ever since but keep forgetting....I don't think in a joined up way at the best of times...not that any of yooze will have noticed:whistle:
I do around 9:30 on a Sunday morning cuz it's the least hectic time of the week. And in the kitchen, three rows up from the lounge door with the 0 on the scales going thru the join of the tiles, cuz that's the only flooring without carpet.

The offspring rebelled against all the healthy eating I've been force-feeding them this week, & decamped to the chippy last night...I was really restrained & only had about half dozen chips.:T Not sure what's happening for dinner tonight, cuz some of us are hospital visiting & it depends on who's driving & when others finish work.

    Good Luck for the W/I...

    Afternoon ladies n gents :D

Sooooooo how is everyone diddling on this fine day???:D ......
It's lovely here right now.. think winter is well on its way out :shhh: ...went off for my walk this morning and killed 1hr 40mins...and no sign of rain..just a lovely clear bright day :T

Picked up some thai paste and some co!!!! milk...a tiny wee tin ... 165ml -which is so much better than those great big tins -so we deffinitely will be having thai curry some day soon :D , some strawbs n bananas, king prawns oh and 2 boxes of quorn chicken burgers down to €1 a box .... will come in in an emergency ;)

Grinned all the way there n back today.... as i put on one of the new tops i had ready to fit into in summer -size 20 still -but that very fine jersey fabric -very unforgiving... and i didn't look like a sausage trying to get out of its skin :p-no pulling it down every few steps ...and then to top it all i was looking at clothes in the supermarket and actually had to pass on some i liked as they were to big a size  -can't remember the last time i could do that - i normally have to look for something that will fit and then pick from what they have :o ...heck folks imagine what im going to be like when i can go into ANY shop and get something :rotfl:
    • Brekkie was -2 weetabix
    • lunch - 3 slices HM bread with roast pork from yesterday and english mustard... and i really enjoyed it
    • dinner -is going to be pasta bake yumyumyum
    • oh and i have had an apple and some strawberries :T , and will no doubt have more later or a yogurt
hubby finished work early so i dragged him back to the supermarket -as i wanted some grow bags and i ain't carrying them :rotfl: and i had spoted a table (we got rid of ours as we were going to do a big kitchen diner...then we stayed in the army.. and had no table...and not much room for one.). well today i spotted just the thing -see if this makes sense...
Its a round table and 2 chairs -but the chairs are semi-circles -and when you push them under the table the backs form part of the top so you get a bigger table..very hard to describe -but ideal for the room we have and at the princely sum of €15 i couldn't resist  -so now i get to sit to a table for my meals :T which helps me feel full quicker :T

Fingers crossed for the job RanitaR :D

BigmummaF -glad its not just me who has an exact spot for the scales :rotfl:
Glad I have the constitution of a donkey-its virtually impossible to upset my stomach -watch me get a dicky tummy now:rolleyes:

Nix143 -make your own pies..stash them in the freezer -then you can have 1 when you get thos "must have pie" moments -at least knowing what is in there...
I love pies....i have a sweet tooth, but unfortunatly -i also have a savoury one :p
I have never had much of a problem with the TOTM, but have noticed that now im eating well -it gets even easier--- i did get a bit mor hungry last weekend but not for "junky stuff"

Mrsdoyle... did i understand that right? -you only eat the egg white? the yolks the best bit :p

Newlywed - if ever i hear the DR utter the words "when people are slim like yourself" i will wet myself laughing.... i usually get the raised eyebrows -followed by the "hmmmm lets check your blood pressure" then sit there grinning whilst they check it twice before realising its perfectly fine thankyou very much :rotfl:

Rockie - you are right it would be rude not to have a piece of cake -especially as you made it ;)

    Boo -
venison sausages are very nice..and sooo low in fat/cholesterol -
"frog in a bog" is one of my faves too ...and i make my own sausages as there can be soooo many cals and sooo much fat in a tiny sausage...
You should be living out here -Pork is the main meat and sooooo cheap, we eat mainly chicken and pork....very rarely lamb (hard to get here) or beef (as i started finding it sat so heavy in my stomach)
You could still make a creamy sauce for the venison...
Still add a splash of red wine, use passata or chopped tomatoes and then to get the creamy bit-throw in a dollop of low fat Philli (or own brand ones) -
We are having pasta bake later and I use passata n cream cheese and its lovely ;)

Taplady - hope all went well at the hospital:D

woohooo frogga -hope all is well

right folks had better get off- have a good evening everyone...and keep at it we are getting there:D

    Why can't i say coconut? c o c o n u t ?????

    Hi All,

Well it was weigh in day today but wasn't holding out much hope as its cool and windy so I was wearing boots and heavier clothes, as well as it being TOTM. Sure enough, the scales said I'd put on a pound and a half. However, this is still 4lbs lighter than when the same thing happened at the same time last month so I actually wasn't too despondent. Hopefully it will mean a better loss next week.

Had our usual treat of a hot chicken leg and a Coke whilst we were out, plust the normal muesli etc for breakfast. Tea will be egg, chips and mushrooms (a Friday treat - OH has burger rather than egg).

Not much walking in Gib today as we missed out the trek to the library. A friend has lent me some books so I don't need my weekly fix of ones from the library this week.

We slept in till 11 this morning and then I still felt tired!! Why is that? We have resolved we must start getting up a bit earlier every day as it is getting ridiculous and then we stay up too late at night. We have OH's daughter, son and grandson arriving on Wednesday so will need to be up earlier anyway - I don't think babies of 8 months know how to lie in do they?

Well done Frogga on the resisting and everyone else too on their successes. You must be feeling great Mrs M with all the walking you do these days. It doesn't just help the weight loss does it, it makes you feel happier inside too getting the regular exercise.

Have a great Friday evening all.

    evening all!

not good news from the hospital - got to have a hysterectomy:eek: due to more abnormal cells. Still as I said on the daily thread at least I'll be able to spend lots of time on here with all my friends!:j

Had beans on toast for lunch then later had a rice cake. For tea we've just had the quorn potato layer thingy but I wasn't very keen on it so it'll be back to lasagne next time!:D
Got a mullerlight layered yoghurt later for pud.

Frogga - well done for resisting munching after your upsetting encounter this morning:T

Am working a long weekend again - 32 hours over 3 days so wont be about too much but I'll try to pop in and see how you're all doing!

    take care x
    Do what you love :happyhear
