I'm too scared to go weigh myself as i suddenly look very pregnant and i still have this mad idea that I can somehow get along not gaining any weight. :D

It's been all about the carbs the last couple of weeks though, so wouldn't be suprised if i've put on a stone since I last weighed.

as for you Cheerfullness , well, that wasn't very possitive was it? You must do better ! One possitive thing about you please, and no getting out of it! ;)

Geeee its like being in counseling again. :p She asked me exactly the same question back then and, when she could see me squirming, gave me a week to come up with something. My positive thought? I had quite nice handwriting. :D She wasn't impressed, which I thought a tad ungrateful.

Okay then frogga - I suppose if I like anything about me its my cheeks when I smile. They're quite full so I spent my childhood have adults relatives pinching them.

Any recipes will be gratefully received, MrsMc. Found lots of scrummy calorie ladden ones today, but nothing remotely healthy.
Oh and btw, its the 'waffling' that keeps a lot of us going. I find losing weight a pretty stressful thing to do, brings on anxiety attacks like you would never believe, but I rush here and the humour from you girls is a life saver.

Finally, well done Alfiesmum on the 2lbs weight loss. :T :T

    Hi,

Well I got weighed today in the supermarket in Gibraltar and the scales showed 11st 11!!! I am hoping that is because I was wearing jeans and boots and because its the time of the month as I was only 11st 6 on my scales when we flew out last Wednesday.

Had a bit of exercise walking around today which is better than the last few days. Hopefully, OH's knee will stand up to a proper walk tomorrow.

Breakfast: Museli and fruit and fibre, raisins, skimmed milk and pineapple juice.

Lunch: Chicken leg and a coke.

Tea: Not sure yet but maybe the rest of the chicken in a pitta bread with tomatoes.

    Snack: Banana and an orange

On the good side, I managed to buy two new items of clothing in the sales that I'd admired before Christmas and resisted. Both were half price today which was great. One was a dress to wear over trousers - a jersey wrap type thing. They only had it in a size 10 but it actually fitted so I bought it in the hope that I will be a true size 10 by the end of April. The top I bought was a 14 which is more realistic!

Realized I didn't mention a positive thing about me....I too have found this hard.

I am quite bubbly (most of the time!), and get quite excited about things...(often too excited!) Physically...I have good clear skin and look younger than my 47 years. I feel that if/when I lose the weight, I might start looking my age....not what you want as you are approaching 50!

Oh well, such is life...better to be lighter and healthier than looking younger (remind me I said this when I am 12 stone and look 60!).

Off to cook, making spag bol and meatballs (splitting the meat between the two), DS2 wants meatballs tonight so I'll freeze the spag bol. Also using sausage-meat left over from Christmas in the meatballs, so may have extra to freeze...though not if the boys see them I suspect!

    Have a good night.

OH met me after the boobsquash and we went to IKEA....OH was hungry so went to get a hotdog and brought me 2 cinnamon doughnuts
I've probably walked them off 'cos the round trip was 2 hours walking on top of my usual walking for the day and I've had no tea yet as I'm still full! I'll have a bit of veggie chilli and rice when I'm hungry in a bit

I weighed myself this morning and had gone up to 11st 8lb:eek:   so I'm determined to make the Valentine's challenge.

    See you later ladies:A

Well had a good day today. Was extremely busy at work so was easy to keep to not snacking.

Had oatcakes and pate for lunch instead of a sandwich as i suddenly recalled I had some pate in the fridge which needed using up. Tomorrow I plan to have:

    breakfast: fruit and fibre
    snack: fruit
    lunch: baked potato and cheese
    dinner: enchilladas

Frogga's positive thought: my hands - have nice nails and fingers and I always make sure they are looked after.

Dear Ladies/Girls/Vixens/Women/Amphibians/ etc (always wary of how to approach that bit :embarasse )

I love reading your thread. I just sit quietly in the background and enjoy, learning and looking.

A couple of things sprang to mind this evening and I just wanted to say:

Gingham Ribbon - I understand you have a job to do, and that you give generously of your own time, but I can't see the harm in people posting multiple times if they need to. This thread is such a fantastic tool for people.

I realise that it might look like it deviates from Money Saving Old Style at times, but I really don't think so. This thread takes the place of expensive slimming clubs/programmes, therapy, diet pills, surgery, mad diet products etc etc - that IS saving money. The advice and support folks get here is invaluable. So many people can't afford the things I have mentioned above (diet clubs etc - and who wants to line Rosemary Conley's or any other overpaid celebrity's pocket when the real advice and support is here, free) and like me have found their way here because they found this site due to the need to get out of debt or save money. Some people are isolated/lonely and really need the human contact and support a thread like this gives and if posting stops a binge - post on... (just my opinion, no offence intended :o )

To whom it may concern - the steamed cabbage instead of pasta thing - genious :T . I have to admit to over-steaming the cabbage so it goes a bit floppy and it really can take the place of the pasta under a nice sauce.

I have been a (fairly) good lad :D . Managed to put on just 1 pound over christmas and reckon am doing well since, as jeans getting a bit loose - have had to dig out an old redundant belt!

New Years Revolutions - Porridge _pale_ every day for breakfast (a hard task after 20 years of nothing but black coffee, but two weeks in and surviving)

HM soup everyday for lunch at work (the local cafe are going to go bust) - going for a larger portion and not having the bread roll with it - stops the mid afternoon wheat crash and I control the fat/salt content of the soup.

Now - the bit not going so well is the couple of pints after work  still working on that.........:o

    Cheers - Orph
