Just recieved an item from Pixmania today... Turns out I have ordered the wrong thing.. Now I'm gonna have to return it to them, not looking good going by the posts in this thread.

I recieved the item today, 16/06/11. I read on their website that they give full refunds if the item is sent back within 7 days. Well today is Thursday and the earliest I can send it back will be Friday/Saturday bear in mind this item will have to be sent to France, is there any chance its even gonna reach them in time?

I read on their T&C that if its not there by 7 days they refund you money which can only be spent on their website?? What a CON.

Hopefully it arrives in time but right now i'm absolutely raging.
  • The first time I ordered from them, I was told the parcel had been delivered, but there was no sign of it. Eventually several days later I found it rather soggy, hidden in a flower bed in the back garden, despite a large postbox at the front. Needless to say every attempt to contact Pixmania was hopeless.

The second time, and of course my last, I used them, the courier said I wasn't at home (when I was) and that he had left a card (which he hadn't). Without a card number you cannot access the courier's automated system. So I asked Pixmania, and they agreed to give the necessary instructions. The ladies on the phone were charming, but wholly ineffectual. Only standardized messages can be sent out that may or may not bear any relation to the actual problem. They now say that they are launching an "investigation" with the hopeless bppost to find the parcel which "is lost in transit". It isn't of course lost, it is sitting in the courier's warehouse, as tracking plainly shews, but there is no means of contacting them, other than through Pixmania, who are incompetent....

won't go into mass detail, but basically bought an electrical item from them via Amazon, it was faulty (well known production fault - these things happen), but Pixmania had me running around for literally MONTHS trying to get a refund.

What happened to Amazon's A-Z guarantee?

I found Pixmania some years ago when I was looking for a cheap supplier for something. They were the cheapest so I googled the name.

What I found convinced me that there was no way any sane person should ever use them.

I have not seen anything since that has caused me to change that view.

I too bought a surround sound system from this less than honest company. The website claimed that everything on the site would be in stock unless stated otherwise, but as soon as I ordered it, they said it was not in stock so would be a few weeks. I work offshore so thought it would be ok to wait til I got back from work. After contacting them 2 weeks later, with no joy, I asked for a refund - which they kindly told me I would receive in a few days.
The long and short of it, I never got my refund,so contacted Paypal who I payed through. They said I had no protection as they only make sure that both parties make the transaction without finding out each others bank details. I told them that, essentially they were helping a fraudulent company. I told both companies I would proceed with legal action.
Shortly later I was refunded the full amount by Paypal, who presumably took back their money from pixmania.
Every company that I ever buy from online is now googled to see if they are above board. I would never deal with this company again.
  • My Mum bought a Archos 101 on 31/1/12 and all was fine until this week when it no longer connects to the internet via WiFi. It finds various networks that i have tried but won't connect. So I contacted Pixmania on her behalf and was sent what seemed like a stanard reply telling me that as it was no longer within their 15 day return policy that i should get in touch with the manufacturer to fix it. Surely my contract is with Pixmania....if I'd bought a Coldplay cd which was faulty, I wouldn't have to contact Chris Martin.
