I looked at Pixmania when I bought my first digital compact camera years ago.
They are usually at the top of the price comparison websites.

The fact that they sold 'grey' imports and didn't provide English manuals put me off.

I've bought my last 2 cameras from UK Digital, they offer a 2 year warranty (or did when I bought), I found them pretty competitive on price and they've been fine with delivery.

that website does not work. do you mean
http://www.ukdigitalcameras.co.uk/ ?

please read my post.

I did not deal with Pixmania.
I said the fact they sold grey imports and didn't supply English manuals put me off.

I bought from another company, so I haven't been very, very lucky - I just did my research before committing my money and decided not to touch Pixmania with a bargepole.

My apologies.

Let me get this right...

You came onto a thread saying !!!!mania are cr4p, and posted to say I DIDN'T order with them and it was OK with the other company thast I did order with.

Just checking I've got it right [this time]....couldn't you just have posted 'I agree'??.

Yes, do please get it right.

If you could actually manage to read other posts in this thread, you might have noticed THIS one;

okay i read the first page, and was alarmed that this place was still selling in UK. It is even advertised as a seller for some major camera brands in the UK!
Thanks for the tip...will avoid...now it just make it harder where to buy my camera from at decent price!
which is why I mentioned why I didn't deal with Pixmania and mentioned a company that I HAD dealt with twice.

I even highlighted the point I was replying to in bold - and you managed to miss it.

So, do you have it right THIS time?
I hope so because your inability to keep up is getting tedious.

You're just trying to score cheap points because you lacked the ability to read and understand my post.
• i worked for over 4 years in one of the most soul destroying customer service jobs you can imagine, dealing with angry people and generally having to resolve their (often unrealistic) complaints.

Yet pixmania is the ONLY company i've ever genuinely felt like swearing at their employees on the phone.

won't go into mass detail, but basically bought an electrical item from them via Amazon, it was faulty (well known production fault - these things happen), but Pixmania had me running around for literally MONTHS trying to get a refund. And I'm generally known as someone amongst friends and family that knows how to deal with consumer issues, how to get results without getting angry (being rude generally doesn't solve much), etc.

What's more, i posted up a (VERY polite) version of events to the feedback page (something like "Product faulty, delays with refund, but eventually resolved") and they had the sheer fvcking cheek to reply back on the public bit with outright LIES. They utterly made up something absolutely stupid like "customer failed to provide details of purchase within a timely manner", or something - I was absolutely livid when I read it.

But having had to phone, fax and email them so many times to resolve a VERY straightforward consumer issue I decided to let it be than to try and get Amazon involved again. Without fail, every single one of their employees was surly, unhelpful and overall "not my problem" types.

(I'd found that the only time they paid attention was reporting them to Amazon, frankly -they didn't give a crap about their legal obligations or customer service levels (snort - as if they'd heard of it) before that).

However, it does make me seethe every time I see more people getting duped by Pixmania, I would rather pay five times the price for an electrical item than ever give them a penny of my cash again.

Awful, awful, awful company to deal with, and I'd be ashamed to say I worked there if any customer ever had to put up with the crap I had to during my own experience of them.

In fact, just stumbling across this thread today has made me all !!!!ed off again, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't report them to trading standards with the screenshot evidence/documentation I'd had to store in a folder at the time.:mad::mad:

You are indeed wrong on this point. They advertise and sell in the UK and therefore have to comply with UK consumer protection regulations..

No doubt those UK Regulations are implementing EU directives that are in force across Europe, including in France.

I have never used them but due to their ridiculously low prices on the likes of TV'S then surely anyone would smell a rat and realise they will be imported goods?

I found them on numerous price comparison sites a while ago when I was after an LCD TV but a call to the manufacturer confirming numerous horror stories quickly made me look elsewhere!

Dont always go for the cheapest!
