I got a Trade Card from them, I showed them my works ID card. I don't actually work on cars anymore, just in the motor industry (Nissan).
The discounts are worth having though it's a shame we can't see how much we're getting off before we buy.0 -

You can also phone and ask for the trade prices - you'll need to have your trade card number to hand.0 -

You can take the item you want to the tills or the parts section and they will scan your card and tell you how much it is before you buy.0 -
Yes, unfortunately because of word being spread around over the internet like it has here, and other clubs getting wind of it, and whining about it, we've lost something that was keeping our club quite stable and helping our genuine enthusiast members.
Sadly, people looking for a quick way to save some money without any real interest in the club, nobody will be receiving the benefits anymore, so it's quite a shame, for the people and for the club.

Surely, if they need the Trade Card they will qualify in other ways...?0

Not atall I'm afraid, not for the majority.
I'm afraid that through a combination of petty complainers and people spreading the word, new members coming to VxON who are enthusiasts (who the card was intended for) cannot benefit anymore.0 -

i thought the name TRADE CARD was a bit of a give away at who they were aiming it at.
now if it were an ENTHUSIASTS CARD then i could see your point.
halfords were openly advertising the trade card,so i find it hard to see how you can blame folk on here or other forums....work permit granted!0 -

Ah, you are complaining that the average joe who maybe buys one or two parts once in a while can't now get them cheaper.
The card is still openly available to the home mechanic, but not to the general public who want cheap wipers0 -
was it a petty complaint ?
why should vauxhall club members have this trade card , when ford , vw ,etc etc arent allowed
if they want the buisness they should offer a card to a wider range of enthusiasts ..or simply ajust thier prices to be inline with any other decent motor factor , maybe its time they had a parts shop at realistic prices and another store for all the chav accesories0 -

Because it was not offered to all Vx clubs just one. This club put a lot of time and effort into developing a relationship with Halfords which ended up with us being given the trade card to our members. Other clubs wanting to jump on a bandwagon we had build started to complain to halfords and now we have lost out.
If it was another club who thought of the idea and approched halford then we followed them if they had said no we would have let it drop and thought good luck to you. Not badgered Halfords into making the decision to withdraw the offer from everyone.
so i hope they are all happy now as they can't even get the card through US!!!!!! :T :T :T0
