Air and fuel filter were still cheaper at unipart.
I meant to get the hydraulic jack at LIDL for £12.71 but think I may have missed it by now... Halfords sell a bottle jack for £10.39 or the hydraulic jack for £23.99. I'll probably go with the bottle jack unless hydraulic has a significant advantage, what do you think, m'fellow tradie?0 -
DOT4 Brake fluid (500ml) for £1.92

i use a trolley jack personally, i suppose it all depnds on what you want to use it for, if its just to lift the car the bottle jack will be fine.
i havent used my card for a while. youve got me in the mood to use it, i may treat myself to some new tools over the weekend....work permit granted!0 -
Unless it's quite low then the bottle jack doesn't fit. Found that out the hard way!0

those small home user trolley jacks are close to being dangerous , ive got one in the garage as a spare and ive had the car topple off it twice while trying th raise the car , imo theyre not wide to raise a decent sized car
depends on your budget i guess...better than nothing , but take care when using it0 -
I'd have thought trolley jacks would be more sturdy than a bottle or scissor jack? It'll only be to do minor maintenance (not crawling under the car or anything just yet). Lidl still have them in stock so I'll pick one up on Monday.
What do you use to raise the car now, if not a trolley jack?0 -
i use a bigger garage style trolley jack like this

theyre a bit more expensive , but dont tipple over when trying to raise the car , they also go alot higher
maybe im spoilt , but i hate those budget ones like these
