The spark plugs were the wrong one. I gave them the registartion number and it came grooved. I realised they were the wrong ones after fitting them. They were for the 1.8 8v not the 2.0 8v. I didn't bother going back. I will buy the correct ones later for another £4.19!

When I was replacing the thermostat, I went back to get some anti-freez. I took a Halfords own 5 liters one to the till. When I handed the trade card to the snotty girl there and she said" There is no trade discount on these nor on screen wash" I said "ok". It went throught for £17.99. I have just read in one of the previous posts by "Team Halfords" at the top of this page that the anti freez and screen wash are included in the Tade Card discount!

As much as I feel like going back to challenge this, I feel it is not worth making a fuss about it, but, a lesson is learnt today ( and two days ago, but that is a diffrent story in Boots) that do not trust what they say at the till no matter how confident they seem about what they tell you.

I am sorry I didn't remember this. Well, what can I do now? Go back with reciept and asking them for a discount? Or Log a complaint about the SA at the till? Next time I will make sure they scan the trade card even for a CD player!lol ( I know no discount on these)

id pop in and ask another member of staff..if they give discount buy that one and get a refund on the other can

Hi Steve and thank you for the great idea! And that is exactly what I did!

We have two stores nearby. I went today to the other one and purchased one with a discount TRADE for £14.39 and then returned that can to the No-Discount-on-Anti-Freez Store with the old reciept for a £17.99 refund! I saved £3.69! which is not as great discount as 5 cans of 1 liter which get you £4.30 discount. ( See above ) Nevermind, I can live with £0.60 more!lol better than nothing which I got in the first place!
