Whilst these significant savings are to be welcomed by "those-in-the-trade", they just show how Joe Public has to pay through the nose for everything.:embarasse0

have a look back...ive posted how anyone can get the card
but i still avoid avoid halfords when i can as their special trade prices are still around what a good motorist shop will charge0 -
TBH I've found the opposite. I've had my card for well over 3 years now. Simply asked for it. there are targets for them to meet.
On consumables generally halfords are cheaper than most motor factors. Brake pads, discs, filters, belts.
Their Professional tool range is very hard wearing and the exchange works quite well enough for someone with a hobby.
Their main benefit is the opening times and easy locations.
Andrew Page etc have their uses too for specific parts. Where do Halfords buy those in from eh?
Tho sometimes the trade card beats the prices from those guys!
By far the best deal I've had is wiper blades which went from 12quid down to about 1.50
Battey charger this weekend, 27 down to 21.
It does show the public at over paying but then they are happy not to explore the discount options I guess they deserve it.0 -
I wonder if there's any discount on made up number plates...
Edit: should have read all thread, no discount...0 -
Joe public can get a trade card without much difficulty if they make the effort
Not long till I get my copper grease now :drool:0 -
I went into Halfords over the weekend and apparently all they need is a 'header' from a local motor factors. He said my last invoice would be fine, shame I didn't have it with me at the time (cleared out glove box that morning )
Not long till I get my copper grease now
its always the same, something can lie there for ages then you throw it away and as soon as you do you need it. sods law.
no need for the drooling over copper grease though crabbers, even jeannie doesnt like the stuff that much!...work permit granted!0 -
i am very dissapointed, i Am in the trade and have the trade card, why are non traders applying for the card using deception ? why should you have a trade card thus doing the work yourselves and taking the bread out of my mouth? its my bread and butter that you are taking it away. i would have no objections if you are in the trade but if you not you have no right to it. i often use halfords and many other trade supplies to source parts as it is my living, how would you feel if i tried to find out where you or employees source there stuff and tried to obtain a card trade via deception thus leading to a situation where you could possibly be made out of work because the work has dried up, yes i know its only a small drop in the ocean but now you fraudsters are broadcasting openly so i loose even more work. i think i will inform halfords head office what is being said here with a view to make it even more harder to get a card in the 1st instance. Good day :mad:0

I'm not in the trade myself, but I have a trade card and I do my own maintenance, why should I pay the silly rates for labour that garages charge when I can do the work myself and know it's done well.
I think you'll find the majority on this thread have obtained the card by the rules allowed by Halfords.0
