Well I am up. Just having a cup of tea. DS wants me to drive him to school. So we had better get a move on if I want to be back for the physio.
Will catch up later.
Physio at 8.30
Opticians 12.10
Attack sitting room after lunch.
Inbetween keep the washing moving. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I got DS to school, and back in time to jump on the bus to go to Physio. Arrived with about 2 mins to spare. Then after physio back on the bus and home. Hung out washing, moved on the next lot, (had to bring in yesterdays washing before I could hang out todays.) After I had sorted that all out, had my 11sys cuppa had to go to the opticians. Called into work after the opticians and caught assistant sitting on her laurels!!. Am I surprised, Nope. then she was going to go off for her lunch.. So 2 hours later I suppose not a lot would have been done. Only called into work as its next to opticians.
Need bi focal glasses now, so I feel really old. Doesnt help with the birthday coming up either. !!
Twins have gone into town, so the food shopping will have to wait as I cant do it on my own. Hence why Mr T used to deliver. Cant get it to now as had to use mums account, as Mr T dont accept Coop account as its electron.! So no more delivery for me for a while.
Now that I have sat down, to do the menu plan, got watching the tv, cookery challenge. Meal for £1.50 today. (but thats for one portion me thinks, we do better than that here on MSE) Well sometimes we do.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Right at last procrastination over, heres my menu plan for the next few days.-
Today is beef in red wine, with potatoes and cabbage.
Meatballs and pasta
Chicken and potato casserole
Moussaka and chips with salad
Sausages mash and peas
pizza chips and salad
Roast Chicken
Potato layer with possibly sliced ham/gammon
Minced beef and onion Pie, potatoes and mixed veg
Chlli and rice
Jacket potato baked beans, and salad
Now I have to think of the breakfasts and the lunches. So I can compile the shopping list. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Shopping list done. Next 3 loads of washing on the line. Twins and DS back.
DS cutting the lawn. I have just been watering the plants, my poor tomato plants have wilted!!. I dont think I will ever be a great gardener. Just hope I can save them.
Asked a twin to do the potatoes to go with the Casserole I put in the slow cooker. Need to add to it as I didnt have much veg or meat really. Forgot also got Visitor to feed. currently her BF is here, so want to delay it a bit.
May have to go to Tesco before dinner, but hate that as its not good to go when hungry.
Cup of tea, and egg heads on the TV while I think about whats best to do.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Did the potatoes myself in the end, as I am so hungry I couldnt wait anylonger. So must remember to delegate to her a horrible task next time. All she had to do was cut a few in bits and put water on them!! They were newish potatoes so they can be done in the skin.
Dont know where the day has gone. Bits n pieces got done, but nothing major like I had wanted to do, certainly not in the time scale.
The sun is out the back of the house, I jsut wish it was a haven and not the recycle tip!
Think I ought to have a look on Mr T and see the prices before I go shopping, so I have an idea if I have enough money. Normally I do my order on line, click away, then edit it out if its over budget. Cant do that if I am going up and down the isles. Havent got my calculator too hand to add up like I used to do 20 odd years ago!!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo
I have been subscribed to your thread right from the start and have posted the occassional helpful? comment about Housing Benefit.
I am slightly concerned about the guest you have staying - namely in that as she is living with you she needs to be declared to Housing Benefit, depending on her age and her income they may make a deduction for her.
The reason I think you will get caught out is because you mentioned a while ago that she had gone to the local council for help with housing and you had/were going to write a letter to confirm she couldn't stay with you. It is normal practice within authorities for the homeless section to notify the benefits section of people who may be lodging with friends/relatives.
The other problem is that as the landlord knows that she is staying there is nothing to stop him reporting you. I would hate for you to be overpaid and cause you more financial headache.
Just remember that if your guest is under 25 and on Income Support or JSA then they don't make a decuction but if she is under 25 and not working but not claiming benefits then they will deduct £7.40 per week.
Hope this has not caused too much grief but thought it best you were aware.

Its a bit complecated. House visitor doesnt really stop over anymore. She hangs around during the day, and apart from one night (the night of the burglary) she hasnt slept here since the landlord queiry several weeks ago now). she is staying with her new BF in Barton. She just hangs around here, and eats with us. Having said that she was only here for about 30 minutes yesterday.
She is not claiming any benefits as far as I know, she is under 25 and is unemployed now. She tried to do some work but thats not come to anything. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well today is my birthday. 47... God I feel a lot older with everything thats happening. I was woken by DS telephoning me (from his bedroom) to say he didnt feel well. No happy birthday mum there then!!. I said tough, he has 2 days left of school and he must go.
Then BF had sent a happybirthday text.
I opened the cards that had been arriving for me, from my sister and parents in France, and my brother and one of the twins. Twin 2 has surfaced early, and has given me a lovely little heart shaped locket with Mum on. (I will now have to decide on whether I wear that or the gold fairy she brought me a few years ago, which is my normal only adornment that I don;t tend to remove). So I have a choice of silver and gold necklaces now.
Twin1 is still in bed.
Talk of the devil and house visitor has just walked through the door and said Morning, and gone for the bathroom.
This evening BF and I are going to visit my eldest in Towcester and hopefully we are going somewhre nice for a meal.
The sun is shining, and now I will just potter about today. May have another cup of tea and then a bubble bath, before sorting out my clothes for tonight.
Yesterday twin2 came to Tesco with me, and I was horrified that our shopping still came to £100.34 after the healthy start vouchers were used. So I am well over on the budget. Mind you I did end up paying for the baby nappies, food etc so I think I will be re iterating to the girls that I cannot include all of the baby stuff in the grocery shopping, without increasing the money they give me.
But today I am going to just relax, enjoy and make the most of a bit of a me day. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
