Hello to everyone, not got time to do more than skim thread so support to those who need it, lemsips and cups of tea for the poorly ones and general good wishes all around
Just had to pop in to say - me and t'other half have set a date for our civil partnership! Friday (moneysaving! lol) 30th october 2009 - which also happens to be my 40th birthday and her 37th birthday too :T. Can you tell I am a bit excited and very, very happy? I'm planning to raise all the money to pay for it through Ebay, Quidco, clicks, surveys etc and am going to blog my way though it - quite looking forward to having a target to keep me focused.
On a more MSE note I am picking up a load of new beer and wine home brewing equipment on Saturday from a lovely lady on Freecycle so looking forward to getting stuck into that. Do you think I will have mastered wine making enough in 20 months to be able to serve home made wine to my wedding guests in true MSE style LOL?
Have a lovely day everyone xxComps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

Afternoon everybody...............((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) if you need one.
Collected my friend from her daughters, she has been cat sitting, and we went to Aldi, she enjoyed herself, doesn't get to do 'a big shop' unless someone takes her in a car. I didn't spend much, just wanted some antiseptic hand wash.
Parcel has been collected and is now on its way, what a change from the other company I used to use, twice on the trot they failed to pick up and DHL were cheaper too.
This afternoon I need to have a clean up, is 2 weeks since I last had the duster in my hand, had just been hoovering up, there are a lot of threads on the bedroom carpet from my sewing, mind you it will be just as bad tomorrow when I have done some more sewing.
We have a class starting in the complex tomorrow, armchair exercise......have talked quite a few of the residents into coming, should be a bit of a laugh if nothing else.
Hester........I hope you get someone new soon, that lodger of yours is seriously taking the p***
Had been going to reply to someone else, cannot remember who sorry. I watched Martin last night. Great he gave out the warning about not changing energy suppliers just yet...............another friend emailed me about staywrm last night, I told her to say away from them, to wait until things had settled a little and I would then do a search for her.
Right off for a cuppa, don't want any lunch had a chocolate and vanilla brioche when I got back from Aldi.....................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Odd n sods............haven't reads back far enough to know what you've done but take care.I tripped over beginning of december........thought I'd broken my ankle..........came up like a golf ball but x-ray showed no break but I'd torn a ligament..............still aches a bit but tons better than it was.
I'd been given co-codamol for a previous back injury and they sent me to another planet...........so refused anything like that and stuck to anadin extra, cold cloth on my foot, rest and eventually a tubigrip when the swelling went down.
Hope your foot gets better soonMary

Morning everyone, hope you don't mind a newbie
I've been off work ill for the past 3 months so no work for me today, getting a bit sick of it really, officially classed as IBS and anxiety but I've been doing some research and am going to mention ME to the doc next time I see her as I'm sure it's not normal to be as tired as I am all the time, it's not even sleepy tired it's a deep couldn't move if I wanted to tired.
Anyway Asda shopping has just been deivered and put away, they sent me pears which went out of date yesterday and frozen milk, both still edible but that's not the point so have emailed them to see if they will refund.
Have got a wash on and have cleaned the bathroom and kitchen with my new stardrops, how sad that I'm so excited by cleaning
Lunch was an avocado and salad sandwich and was delicious, tea is salmon, chips, spinach and whatever other veg I can be bothered to make.
Got homework to do for my shrink appointment next week but Mr Sparkle is off so I suspect I'll end up snuggling up on sofa to watch dvds with him all afternoon instead.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -

Hello kipper
Both mine and OH's family live miles away from us..........we have some good friends luckily but really I've only two that lve near enough to have a good moan at if I'm feeling fed up. One of them is disabled so it means me going to see her and she's enough problems really.
I'm stuck at home most days and look foward to forums like this. Didn't find the site till just before christmas and there's so much on it I'm still finding my way round.
I know there's a Depression Support Thread on one of the forums in this section.......think it comes under the Money, families etc. part.
I've found such inspiration from the folk on here to do things, like having a clear out which does wonders (though I'm a bit slow on that at the minute)
and the Christmas threads have really given me something else to think about..........stops the January blues a bit anyway.
Good luck to you:jMary

Totally agree with you hun. I moved 30 miles away from home to be with OH. and although it was the best move i ever made i do get lonely.
I tend to ring my Mum when i feel the need to brag about a great meal ive made or a good tip ive found. i only have a couple of friends and dont work (on the sick at the mo~ bad back:mad: ) so most of the time rely on OH for support....and this board
long live the old style board !!!0 -
Hello Kippers!
I am not working at the moment, don't have kids and my health problems preclude a lot of walking about (did have a bicycle but it was stolen before Christmas - this was the third in a year, all were locked, and I haven't got around to replacing it yet). I don't really want to see a lot of people as it is rather exhausting but I love looking at MSE and especially the OS thread. Even if I don't join in I love the open discussions, and the way that it is ok to have all sorts of opinions and thoughts. It means that I have something more to talk about when the OH gets home from work than what is on the radio, nd it helps to keep my mind active, as well as giving help with making the most of my budget. It has made a real difference to my life in lots of different ways.0 -
Hi Kippers,
I know what you mean, most of my friends work during the day, but thankfully I have a lovely 'old style' sister who lives far away but we manage to have a natter about old style stuff on the phone most days.
As mary has mentioned there is a Depression Support Thread which I think helps a lot of people on MSE.
The very best place to get help and support here on Old Style is the daily thread, where I have been lucky enough to make some really good friends. I'll add your thread to it and I'm sure you'll get lots of friendly replies.
