Afternoon All
It's peaceful here tonight, apart from the phone ringing, but I no longer bother to answer it. The lodgers working late and won't be in till 9 ish I think, woohoo.
Hubby still not feeling like eating properly, so it's scrambled eggs for us.
I watched It pays to watch & I recorded it, so I can watch it again later.
I've finally had some sucess on freecycle & had 6 items collected, so the pile of clutter is going down. No doubt it will be bigger after the weekend as I'm doing more decluttering.
Hugs Hester

Well, late afternoon everyone. Hope you have all had a good day, not been able to read the thread yet, will catch up on it later. Been out gallivanting all day today. Decided to drop kids off at school and then spend the day wandering around the shops and spent a lovely time in lakeland and the steamer cook shop. Only purchased a new slightly larger than i've got baking tray as there is now a competition in this house on who gets the biggest birthday cake and its daddy's birthday next in May so obviously his will have to be the biggest yet!
When it was DS2's birthday his was three layers out of 9" rectangle tins - we were eating it after dinner with chocolate custard for THREE DAYS:eek: not to mention the amount that went into lunch boxes, and my portions are not measly either. Looking forward to a nice hot bath tonight and getting on with some sewing. Now off to start at the beginning of the thread to see what you have all been up to today. Hope you've been more productive than i have:rotfl:Proud to have dealt with my debts. Nerd number 288:j Debt free date Dec 07 :EasterBun

Thanks for the apron measurements - will make a note of those. The bag thread is http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=670839.
Have not actually made one of these bags, but it did occur to me that if you made a 'handle hole, by sewing a channel across the top of the handle you could use dowelling for the handles which would make the bags a lot stronger. I will have a go at the bag tomorrow and see what I can do with it and then photograph it so you can see if it works. Otherwise will post new instructions.
I love bags and have made a lot in my time from simple ones to back packs and embroidered evening bags. I have a very good pattern which uses up small oblongs of fabric, you can either make a smallish or larger bag for taking to the beach etc. I made a small one for my US friend and she used it to take a book and her lunch to work. A larger one was used by another friend as a knitting bag. I usually line my bags is quite easy to do, as long as you remember to leave a seam open to turn the bag through.
When I first started quilting I made several bags to take rulers cutting boards etc to workshops or lessons. I even made one for OH to use when he went painting!!!!!!!!!!!!
OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHWWWWWWWWWWWW Church mouse, when I was doing my Kym act in Hampshire Peter Jones in Sloane Sq was a favourite haunt, I loved that shop, especially if I was spending someone elses cash, the best day I had was buying all the stuff for a new guest room, sheets, duvets and covers, pillows, and towels etc.....boy did I enjoy that............... and I went back with some change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have a new shopping centre coming on line and the biggest store is?????????????????? YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John Lewis
I cannot wait, it should b e open just before Christmas this year.................bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Hello everyone - can I come back and play? I haven't posted for ages. First I was struggling with depression and felt too miserable, then I was busy but happy at university and then had another bout of depression over Christmas. Now I'm feeling much more on top of things and ready to go OS again - last term I was in survival mode, getting used to studying again on top of dealing with what looks like a long-term problem with my mental health. The university have been fantastic in offering support and I've met some lovely people on my course (MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Time to get down to meal planning and sorting out the house a bit - part of my plan to beat the depression is to get moved to a smaller house, with a smaller mortgage and near to my family and friends - I want to get it up for sale within a fortnight. Next week I'm cat sitting for my stinking rich friend in her country mansion so that will be lovely - can't meal plan as I don't yet know what delicious things will be left in her fridge! I think they spend about £150 a week on food for two people so there should be something yummy left behind...

Pam, I think you are incredibly brave to be dealing so well with this. :A
It puts all the little grumbles into perspective.
Scuzz...Please don't take this the wrong way but are you sure your boss is ok with you spending alot of time on the internet while at work.? Maybe that is contributing to the problem.Hope things get better for you soon.
PP...Sorry to hear the mix up with your meds. My gran took warfarin and she had to have her blood checked weekly by the district nurse. This was mandatory and I'm appalled they have messed this up. Didn't you complain when the nurse didn't turn up?Hope you feel better soon.
Well I'm home and have nearly caught up. Trying to find plain white cotton curtains for my bedroom 90" wide and 60" to 90" long. Can't find them anywhere.
Off to do the fishcakes now.

mrs mix, s*d the work, it'll all still be there tomorrow. Glad the painkillers have helped a bit:D As Haribo says, I think we all admire you so much. You must be feeling down about your situation, but you seem to take it on the chin and don't moan. :A I really think you should have a grumble from time to time you know, or else I can't come on and tell you all how I burned my finger on the breadmaker:rotfl: ( Please don't fret too much, i think I'll live:o ) Seriously though, I hope you get your forms filled in OK and that you are at least given some financial help to make your mobility problems a little easier. (((((((((big hugs))))))))You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
