Evening everybody :hello:
As Shez said, yesterday we had a very nice glass of wine (or five) together
Lovely to see her again - and she did pass on your hug, PenPen
:A
Sorry to see so many people are not well. I still have a really sore throat but am otherwise fine. Went to a Pilates class at the gym this evening - couldn't have done that a few days ago on account of not being able to breathe properly
Blairweech - sorry, I haven't been keeping up very well with the daily thread lately, but did you get yourself checked out for the muscle spasms or whatever it was you were having?
Scuzz - FIND A NEW JOB and Hester - FIND A NEW LODGER. Subtlety is not my strong point, I'm afraid
I am thinking about doing a 12-week course of beginners' ballet lessons this spring at an adult education college in Central London. I fancy doing it to improve my grace and co-ordination which have always been pretty poor. I think it's "meant to be" because it's on twelve consecutive Thursdays, and when I checked my diary I found that I actually had those twelve evenings free - no pre-booked tickets for anything, no concerts to sing in - it's absolutely unheard of. The course costs £99 for twelve 90-minute group sessions, so I think I am just going to raid my savings for once - it will do me good
Hope all the DLA applications are sorted soon
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Hi
I'm trying Rzl, I'm trying.
Loumac It's a well known fact at our school that the kids behaviour is much worse when it's windy.

Ohhhh Rzl - Ballet - can you try and get me a bit of grace and poise too - good on you - glad you had a nice time with Shez (although I think she's a very bad influence - all this homebaking lark she does)
We really should sort out a South East meet!
Mrs Mix - Good luck with your blue badge stuff - if it gives you the extra income to be a little more flexible then it's all worth it.
Hester - I think you deserve a medal for that lodger - but good on you for keeping going until now.
DD1 has just come back from panto rehersals for the village yearly show - she's worked up from chorus to speaking parts over the last few years - she's got a lot of lines this year and tonight understudied for Aladin - where does she get the courage to stand on stage from???? Certinally isn't me!
Just introduced DH to the delights of Roboform, he's now merrily "comping" away on the main pc.
Hugs to all the poorlies and Churchie - I'll have a medicinal glass for you - I'm so kind."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
My, My, load of little chatterboxes today haven't we. Took me ages just to read through.
Well I for one will miss HH's lodger. She sounds a real character.Even though she's been a pain in the neck for HH, I can see she's way out of her depth in her situation.
Snowy I demand a picture as proof.Get better soon & to everyone else feeling icky. Twink Of course I don't.
Haribo I've never heard of that saying.
Cat Just heard on the news in Melbourne it's 30 degrees and it's only 7.30am. :eek:I'll tell you later what it reaches. The Aust Open is going to be a scorcher. I"m so glad I live up here in Sunny Qld. which is rainy today again.
MrsMix Hope you feel better tomorrow.
Bgn Rzl Do you have to wear a tutu?Sounds great, and enjoy.

Odds...take the medication, no virtue in suffering unnecessarily!
Scuzz...get a new job...nothings worth that hassle...any word on apartment, might help to be out of mother's way??
BRzl....ballet sounds like a great idea, enjoy
Tathcatt...maybe you should continue to have a word every time the enthusiasm slackens....good result now anyway
Hester....that b***dy lodger needs deporting or whatever they do to unwelcome visitors...somebody else said that she is eating and burning the money she gives you so get rid...peace at any price....could you send her to Aussie, she seemed quite keen???

Well the hot pot was gorgeous! We had it with mashed parsnips.
Recipe:
1 large onion, sliced
1 punnet mushrooms, sliced
4 sausages
1/2 small cabbage, shredded + blanched
thyme
oregano
salt + pepper
chicken stock
1 tbsp flour
4 tbsp water
potatoes, sliced
Saute off the onion + mushrooms slowly in a little oil salt + pepper until lightly browned, add in sausage, broken into pieces. Brown meat off a little. Mix the flour wiht the water.
Mix together wiht the cabbage, spices, flour mix, and spoon into a baking dish, pour in just enough stock to cover; top with the sliced potatoes and bake, covered for 35 minutes, then uncover + continue to bake for 15 or uitl the potatoes are cooked and soft. Serves 4.0 -
Haven't read the thread yet. Upset to hear about the three cases of bird flu at Abbotsbury - my atavar is a pic taken there a couple of years ago.Resolution:

Thanks for your encouragement everybody! Guess what - I went right ahead and enrolled on the ballet course. I'm one of those people who is constantly saying "wouldn't it be good to try x/y/z" and then can't be *rsed to get on and do it. So pleased I bit the bullet :j :j
(Aussie - no tutu as far as I know:eek:)
