Good morning everyone,
Am sat a work but boss is in a meeting so don't feel so guilty being on here. Am going to investigate my previous Amazon orders to see if I can get a refund - a la Martin's programme last night - he wore me out with all that energy! :money:
Hilstep - fingers crossed things go well with your mum, hopefully you should see an improvement soon.:j
Fizzel - sorry to hear of your problems, I wear 'green PJs' (we aren't all bad) so might be able to advise?? or even get contact phone nos for you through the system. I assume you have all the welfare bods helping you? If you get evicted the Council have a duty to house you, I had a friend in a similar situation and the welfare bods wrote a letter saying she was being made homeless on the date and they found here somewhere because of it. I assume you have gone down this route? PM if you need any help.
Hester, can' reply to your blog but hugs to you and your minder, you have both been through the mill, you deserve better than the lodger you have and I will keep my fingers crossed that the next one is a model citizen!
Hugs to those feeling poorly or with LOs ill.
Dinner tonight will be something quick from the freezer as I am picking up my new to me car tonight.
Take care and have a good Thursday.0 -
Morning all.
Started off the day well by cutting my thumb on the veg knife..........
Much blood (isnt there always with fingers etc.) and it still throbs but least now I'm not dripping everywhere..............lol
Was going to venture out to farmers market but its grey and blustery and very cold (despite weathermen saying it might be bit warmer) so I'm staying indoors. Got some birthday cards to make so might do that later.
One foster boy gone to school, the other who should be at work isn't........he overslept ! OH said he wouldn't do a full week............wish I'd bet money on it now............lol
Thanks tattycath for the soap nuts link. I came across them on a website last year but didn't order any as didn't know what they'd be like. Now I'll give them a go.:T
Hope you all have a good day whatever you do:jMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

hello everyone
Met up with Bargainrzl last nite and yes we did have the "odd" glass
although ive got a slight headache this morning (lightweight)
(thats cos i'm not "trained in the art of drinking" like she is!;) ):rotfl:
seriously though, it was a good evening,
Its funny how we all seem to be talking about the same things on the same days on here isnt it? today seems like the DLA (Blue badges) - which is what my DH is doing..filling out his Mum's form for her! and they are coming to install a shower for her on Monday at last!
Didn't see Martins prog yet, but have taped it.
Thinking about phoning my brother in Australia to see if he is actually coming over this summer so I can book a hall for a surprise party for my Mum's 75th B.Day - but I think it might be too late over there now.
Apart from that nowt much else happening today at Chez Shez.
(Hugs) to all those not feeling well with colds/flu/v&d xx
snowy - lovely to see you posting! keep warm x0 -
Hi Guys!
Not read all the thread, so hope everyone is ok.
I have been to hospital this morning and my INR results came back at 5.2. Should be between 2-3, so blood is running very thin which is not good. Had to wait to see the consultant and it turns out that when I saw them 2 weeks ago, they wrote down the wrong amount of Warfarin for me to take and thats why its so high:mad: ...really not happy about it as I have been having severe headaches, nosebleeds and have been bruising badly.
Came back and the cleaner had been, so house lovely and clean. WM has been on and put in the TD:o DW needs emptying and thats it really.
Have DD at home as she's not too good.
Not doing much today as not feeling too good. Shepherds Pie for dinner and just about to have a lovely large Tuna Sarnie:D....craving it ATM
Anyway, hugs to all.

morning again,
Have had a quick tidy, hoover and mop of house, cleaned freezer out, emptied DW, and got 2 washes blowing on the line.
Went to the farm shop (we had run out of veg and pots) and got pots, sprout tops, brocoli and corgettes. Then went to butchers and got 5lb of mince, 6 pork chops, a tray of minted lamb chops, liver and bacon for me and OH and sausages for DD who won't eat liver, spent £30 in the butchers   , but there is enough meat for 15 meals, works out much cheaper than sainsbugs.
So we have a lovely tea of minted chops, mash, sprout tops, brocoli and corgettes YUM, can't wait.
Throat still a bit sore, so am going to have a HOT bath and a lemsip and spend the arvo doing NOTHING, might watch a bit of 'carp' tv, might come on here a bit.
Hugs to your mum hillstep, hope everything goes ok for you all xx
Tired Mum, I Hope the rescue dog likes youlet us know xx
will pop back later xx0 -
Hello everyone
I'm on my 3rd day sick from wo*k after all - was thinking of going in today, however I didn't get to sleep until around 5.00am when the birds were singing, then I slept through the alarm. So here I am though in retrospect it's not a good idea for me to go in and be coughing and spluttering over people's groceries. However I expect I'll get a warning when I go back as you are supposed to phone in every single day that you are off and I didn't. They love to give out warnings, it really cheers the managers and supervisors up when they get an opportunity to put someone in their place. Can you tell I'm going off my job? Time to move on I think!
Tired Mum, fingers crossed that the dog comes to you for the rest of his days. Poor thing, he has been through so much.
I wonder, is today the day that I finally get to grips with some paperwork in my little office? Yes, the same piles of paperwork that made AussieLass go speechless with the sheer scale of the mountains of it....
Joannasmum...woohoo, enjoy your morning! Err guess it's rather over by now, but you know what I mean.
Bye

Morning again.
REDRUBY - I do hope you feel better soon. If you've got the dreaded bug that I had at Christmas try and take it easy - I know it's easier said than done.
AUSSIE - I hope your hair turns out alright - I'm feeling slightly nervous now! I'd be more nervous if you lived in the UK but, as you're thousands of miles away, I won't hear the scream! Seriously, though, I have never had any problems with it and have always been happy with the results. My DH loves the colour - he's colour blind, though!
SOLA - I hope you feel better soon.
TATTYCATH - thanks for the soapnuts link - I shall order some and give them a go.
HILSTEP - good luck to your Mum.
ODDSNSODS - hope your legs stop bugging you.
POOKY - what a brilliant result re your credit card! Good old Martin! He is slowly but surely saving us all a fortune and getting money back for us. Since I joined here I've had over £2000 refunded by the bank for my DH's accounts, £40 back from the building society we had our last mortgage with for over-charged exit fees, and tons of advice on making savings, a fair few freebies and - well, it goes on and on! Still yet to win a competition but I don't do them often enough - that will be changing soon! Oh, by the way - is there a link to that sewing pattern or could you post the name of the thread, please? My aprons - I like the full-size ones with the bib (I'm very messy in the kitchen!) are 28.5 inches (72cms) and they come to just above my knees. I'm 5'4" tall if that's any help. I have one half-size one which is 19.5 (49cms) inches long.
WMF - I try and dress as soon as DH has left but I keep my slippers on! I can't face doing housework in heels at that hour of the day! I do my makeup when there is daylight coming in at the windows. I don't like putting it on in electric light.
DANNI - you've just reminded me that I haven't done my spending diary today - only have to put down £1.85 (milk and newspaper) so a low spend day for me.
DLB - My DH always insists on baked beans with shepherd's pie but I have always done them separately. I shall try putting them in with the mince next time. Another saucepan saved! Thanks for the tip.
Well, I've made some bread and a bakewell tart that turned out very well so we'll be having that for pudding.
It's still blowing a gale here and it was all through the night as well. Hope everything is OK in Scotland for you, TWINK and KYLE.
Well, off to do some work so see you all later.
