Don't forget Martins new programme channel 5 at 7.30pm.
Can't get channel 5 on our tele
Feel free to rang tattykath.............your OH sounds a bit like mine, though mine is getting stuck into cleaning the kitchen.......though plans to do walls this afternoon seemed to go adrift somewhere............lol
He doesn't yet know that when he's done them I've got stuff I want him to hang up on the walls instead of the bits we've got now...........lol
And yes, we've a thousand and one 'unfinished' jobs about the house that will be done 'tomorrow' and we all know when that comes don't we.........lol
Still, he does the shopping and is quite frugal, hoovers for me since I suffered with my back last year and is such a patient soul when I drag out all my christmas pressie bargains to show him...............lol
He's not perfect but then who is...............we never really row, both work on the principle that we cant be bothered..............takes up too much energy..........lol:rotfl:Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Hi Guys!
WM has been on twice today and have made a lovely Lamb stew for dinner in SC. Will add dumplings in abit and get OH to peel some spuds. DW has been unloaded and our bedroom completely cleared of junk:D May sort some clothes out later as there is a charity collection tomorrow and sure I can spare some clothes that I wouldnt sell on Ebay. Also have some new shoes that would be too heavy to post and DD dosnt like them anymore
Have a friend popping in for dinner with us as we dont get much time together now. He has a new job and has moved more into London, so grabbed the opportunity when he called earlier. Its only stew, but its his favourite. Will also make a crumble I think as I have some fridge fruit left and needs using.
Managed to get to Waitrose yesterday after hospital visit as we havent done shopping since we got back from being away and managed to get £60 of food for £28:j :j ...normally they only allow up to 50% off but I smiled and was cheeky;) Have got another £20 to use but didnt take them all with me, also they are luncheon vouchers and think I might save some for Starbucks, Costa or Iceland etc ...not too sure.
Our Gas & Electric has increased from £86 to £91 per month, so not happy about that! I really wanted to do the 4k annual challenge, but its just not possible for us ATM.
Anyway, hope everyone is OK. Hugs to all.

Afternoon peeps:D
Just popped in, not got a lot to say really, been to mr t's and done a shop but ended up spending more than I intended:rolleyes: typical when your skint:rolleyes:
It seems to cost a fair bot more when I start a 'healthier' eating plan, perhaps it shouldnt so any advice appreciated:D
Dinner tonight will be what was left over from last night which was savory mince and I will have that with purple sprouting broccoli.
I am struggling with something sweet to have other than fruit or youghurts which isnt fattening,
The temprature seems to have dropped here I might have to flick the heating on in a while, just fe dthe dogs now I can hear them pushing their bowls around the kitchen like a couple of hooligans;)
Off for a mooch, have a good evening everyone0 -
FRIZZEL - sending you (((hugs))) and good luck wishes - hope you can sort something out for you and the boys soon.
CATOWEN - thanks for the update - I do hope everything turns out well for you.
TATTYCATH - my DH is just the same. I have, more than once, resorted to calling him for his dinner and putting the electric drill on his plate instead of food. It has worked but not every time! If they just got on with it, we wouldn't have to keep on about it - and they accuse us of nagging! I do hope you make up properly soon.
Well, sausage casserole in the oven smells delicious - I'm doing scalloped potatoes with it. I'm really hungry and it's ready to eat now but DH is not home yet and I'll have to wait for him to get home, have his two cups of tea and change out of his workclothes before we eat.
I think it has got colder over the last couple of hours - the heating is on now so I'll survive, I'm sure. DH will say 'it's like the tropics in here!' but it's warm and toasty and, if he wants dinner, the heating is staying on!
Well, I've done a lot of paperwork clearing, printed some photos on my new printer/scanner/fax/copier thing - which turned out much better than on the basic printer. I've got them both linked up to the PC, though, because they use different size ink cartridges (even though they're the same make) and I have loads of new cartridges for the old printer which I don't want to waste. Black and white documents I print on the old one and anything with colours (like a knitting pattern I copied for my Mum) I do on the new one. I just have to remember to set it for the correct one before I click 'print' but it has become a habit now.
Well, not long now until Martin's programme - I've set it to record but will try and watch it 'live' as it were.
See you later - must go!

Evening all
I'm going to W.I. soon, but I'm determined to hog my PC until I go out, despite all the heavy breathing & dramatic sighs I'm getting from the lodger, she'll just have to wait.
I'm tired & it's raining out & in some ways, I'd rather just go to bed, but I will make the effort as I'm sure I'll enjoy it once I get there.
I had a chat with the lodger about how long she was intending to stay, it seems the school are only giving her 3 months contract at a time. They are considering keeping her till July 2009 but on temporary contract. This will make it very difficult for her to rent anywhere! Still that is not my problem, I told her that she can't stay with me for much longer & I have suggested she speak to the school to sort something out, I don't expect she will though.
The phone has been ringing almost constantly since I got home, but I have ignored it, they can ring back later, she's home now.
Have a good evening
Hugs Hester

If it was me Hester I would tell her she has 1 month to make alternative arrangements as you have someone else moving in, make sure you get the rent from her IN ADVANCE.........she is a cheeky mare at the best of time and very thick skinned, how dare she call you on your mobile after you have gone to bed because she wants to borrow your hairdrier...........I am afraid I would have lost patience with her long ago, piching your chocolate from the fridge as well...................and eating 6 - 8 chicken breasts at one go, sorry just not on...............I would have locks on everything.
Believe me I have had some shocking lodgers, but none as bad as that............one left me with a huge phone bill, but I got the money from his parents after sending an itemised bill showing him ringing his girl friend when I was out. He also left me with out paying his last weeks rent, so after that I only accepted 1 months rent in advance...once had!!!!
I know you need to have lodgers to make up your finances but she really is taking you for a ride that you cannot afford. When she leaves make sure she only takes what she came with, I had another lodger who left with a set of new bath towels in his bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

I've missed all her shenanagins, but I agree, tell her she has 1 month to find somewhere else, and stick to it, get the money NOW, or she goes NOW. Some people never grow up until they get thumped on the head by life.0 -
Hi All
Well what a day here! The weather totally foul and the Forth Bridge closed - causing chaos I believe. I hate strong wind.
Kitchen man still not been in touch since before Christmas and I think I have missed the sales. I spoke nicely to his wife today at work and hopefully got message across! Tried to peel Contour wallpaper off kitchen last night and gave up! I thought it would come off in strips and just leave the underneath stuff to steam off. No!!!!!!!!!! I think I will ask decorator to come in in two stages, the before and the after.
E-mailed head of IT today - totally ridiculous that we are still without internet since before Christmas. The Council insist we do on-line ordering through Pecos with subsequent receipts and invoice reconcilliation - we have a mountain gathering! He is out of the office until Friday and IT Helpdesk totally ignoring us! Managed some limited sites today for about an hour but not good at all.
SIL due to hear news about job and relocation. Frightened to phone in case they have to move away. Expecting a friend to arrive soon to stay the night so my New Year Resolution of curtailing the drink might fail!
My friend's daughter was due back from Aussielass Land with her partner today but a lot of disruption at the airport. We will 'do' Xmas with her over next few days once over jet lag! Is it good or bad that Kenny Ritchie made it back here? I would like to think good.
Sorry not properly in touch just now.
