I have only just turned my computer on this morning after deciding i should clean before starting to read MSE Well i seen to be more addicted to OS than any other forum. I just find it so friendly and full of so much useful infomation
Right off to catch up with this threadfurrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:
About me. Im Choccy or Chocolate orange depending on where i am.Yes occasionally i am a total looon who spends too long online, but no where near as much £ as her spendy elves do ..:D0 -
Just got in from the garden and made myself a hot choccy
I've been out there for an hour and half. I've weeded, raked, sieved (I haven't got a garden sieve so I had to use my collonder. Is that how you spell it? It doesn't look right to me, lol) and swept. That's just the greenhouse and veg patch - and they're no way near finished. The strawberries are confused - they have fruit  I picked just under 5LB of sprouts :T
I've got 3 compost bins and it's not enough  Mind you, I left 2 big bags of veg peelings etc. next to the bins, ready to go in when there's room and they're rotting away nicely so I might just leave them like that
DLB, I already knew what happened on CSI, I googled it months ago - I couldn't help myself, I HAD to know :rotfl:
Off for a toastie now, then I have to sort the washing.Bulletproof0 -

Oh wow! I just got the most amazing customer service from Lakeland ever!!! I don't think I have ever come across such a great company - I wanted to return 4 items - 2 because they were damaged and 2 because I just didn't like them. They are replacing 1 one of the damaged items, the other is not in stock, so that is being refunded as are the other 2 - and they don't even want me to send the stuff back! Completely no hassles, no problems or anything
Tru - Our garden is full of stones...so were using an old shopping trolley as our garden sieve
DLB - GOOD LUCK with giving up smoking. I will nag you every day! My mum has tried so many times to give up smoking and she just can't do it OHs Dad has just given up after many many failed attempts, and they have put him on 'Champix' tablets (Not Tampax as I first heard!) - it is working well so far, although they do give him bad panic attacks. They will only give you these if you have tried every other method under the sun though. We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Afternoon everyone
hhhmmmm...whay am i on here when i should be doing 'jobs'? OH is off into town so should be away for a couple of hours and i am to be dog walking. But...the lure of this wonderful friendly meeting place is toooo strong!!
Donna - good luck with stopping smoking. My son stopped 2nd Jan and is trying to keep busy to keep mind off it (he should find things to do - he's at uni and bhad an exam yesterday and one next week!!). but I know it's hard.
Sorry to hear some of you are still unwell and also have sick kids. Difficult to keep them amused sometimes. i know I was a real misery guts for the few days when i had that flu cold.
Making a big pot of veg soup today and putting in turkey steaks in it for a while which will add flavour to the soup and then using the turkey in caesar salad. I did a chicken cookery course at college last winter and whatever we made, we poached the chicken pieces first as it makes them more succulent. So...into the soup pot with the turkey.
Went to Tesco in the end yesterday after saying I'd stay out of the shops all day. Did get some more reduced turkey steaks, which are handy with OH's diet, and got 3 small Argentinian organic steaks which I've put in the freezer.
Other plans for today - clean the fridge
oh - thanks to MSE I used a cloth soaked in vinegar to wrap round the taps in the downstairs loo. result= NO limescale and immaculate shiny taps. I am amazed. Planning to do the bathroom today. Wow - this was Tesco saver brown vinegar at about 19p for 500ml! It's what i use for fabric softener.
Hope everyone has a good day

Hi - just got back from the shops and enjoying a coffee.
MARY - that was a successful shop today! I went into my local and bought 4 books, one was a Jamie Oliver booklet of recipes he created for Comic Relief, another one was called 101 Things To Do Before You're Old and Boring! I also bought a beautiful enamel brooch which I shall give to my Mum. It's a black bow with white polka dots on it and it's truly stunning and I only paid £1.25 for it. I also bought a brand new, still in the sealed packet pair of Disney tights for DGD. I spent just £3.50 all that so I was very pleased. I did not intend going in there but my legs just walked in automatically!
POOKY - your poor children. There are so many bugs doing the rounds that I don't think anyone is avoiding them all. I hope they get better soon.
DLB - good luck with the no smoking!
BLAIRWEECH - my DH has been self-employed for years and HMRC are a pain in the a**s. I have just registered as self-employed also but have yet to hear from them. We also registered DH on the CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) and HMRC have sent me a whole forest worth of paper for that as well, so I have had to study it all. At the moment he has two sub-contractors working for him and we have to complete two forms every month recording their wages and tax. You have to send the forms in even if they haven't done any work; we didn't realise the first month and they slapped us with £100 automatic fine. I'm determined that we won't pay it because there was so much bumpf to read in just a couple of days that I feel they didn't give us enough time to get to grips with the system. I have also questioned why the fine is £100. I know the Government is desperate for money but how can they charge so much? Anyway, rant over. Good luck with yours!
CATOWEN - I must have missed your post about your blood results but, if they were good, congratulations!
Well, I'd better go and have some lunch. Will call in later.
