Good morning all, hugs all round.

back from playschool run, just got there in time today.
have my sky all set for Martins programme tonight.

not feeling the cold so much now, heating is set between 10 and 15 im warm enough, just hope that as i am boys are, how i moaned as a kid wearing vests, been wearing vest tops under my tops and im sure its helped alot, looking forward to seeing a cut in my elec/gas bill, every window has a lined curtain up and i find im not so cold sat on comp when the door curtain is pulled across

today i must do something with the front of my house, its supposed to be strimmed for me when they do everyones, but its not been done since september last year so its to put it nicely a mess, not sure what to do with it yet, too wet to try and get a mower on it (plus i need to borrow one, cut over the lead of mine)
Gave a bag of old clothes to playschool today plus there crying out for socks, was a great way to sort joels draws out.

1st wash in 2 days on here, ive fineally given myself the kick up the bum to stop doing everything so quickly, im hopeing i can get away with 1 wash every 2-3 days.

lunch today beans on toast for me and 2 little ones, joels in lunchclub till 1.30

Tea ive got mince or the rest of mondays chicken casserole to do something with, will probably make mince into a cottage pie, some of anything left joel will take to school tomorrow in his lunchbox and they heat it up for him.

need to sort out a spring clean list for the weekend, if i can keep busy i wont end up in town wasteing money as very rarely do i get to town without the boys and i can see i would end up splurgeing. can i ask what you all do spring clean wise?

stayed out of the shop and plan to this afternoon, i dont need anything at the moment.

going to try and catch up now, i try and get on at night to read through this but that last 2 nights ive failed misrably but trying to keep up with also going to bed at a decent time.

im doing best ive done for months and going to keep up with it.

Morning all from the snotty house of Pooky

Got both DD's home today, they both went to bed at 7pm last night with the shivers and shakes, sneezing and high temps, I told them not to bother getting up so DH crept off to work this morning and we all woke up about half an hour ago - bliss - they both look better for it too, although the most they've done is crawl downstairs and dive under a blanket on the sofa.....it seems I'm not destined to have healthy children - how do some people do it?

Need to unload DW and wipe the kitchen round then I must spend an hour cleaning the bathroom - it's not just boys DLB - DH seems to have shaved in the bath, in the sink, up the tiles and across the mirror

Left over leek and potato soup and jacket spuds for tea tonight - none of us are eating much so I don't need to go to, too much effort.

Started a box of ebay stuff off last night - thought I might have about 10 items but found 25 without really looking, going to have a look through my craft stuff later as I've got several things I'll never use and some sizzix dies that I'd like to get rid of.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Morning everyone :hello:

Just a quick one as I'm in the office.

Was up half the night again I'm afraid but this time I'm putting it down to the storms. The log pile at the side of the house collapsed and next door's bin deposited itself at my gate.

I had to drive the girls to school this morning as the sea was coming over the esplanade wall and traffic was being diverted past my front door. Unfortunately it's a single track, windy road so the buses couldn't make it up there. I have no idea if the buses will run this afternoon.

I managed more ironing last night so need to put that away later and want to cut out some recipes from my old magazines and file them. I got a 10p celeriac yesterday so I'm off to look for recipes that don't involve me going back to MR T.
Hope you're all well. Love to Twink and Kyle. x
Shez....I just bung chickpeas into any stew or curry. ;)
Thankyou to everyone who sent me messages the other day. I'm fine ta. ;) :A

    Good morning everyone!

This is risky! Having spent almost all of my weekly budget in one go yesterday I have to go into Lidl, even though I don't actually need to buy anything. I discovered yesterday that I'd left my bank card in the machine there on Saturday. This only came to light after the cashier at Tesco asked me for an 'alternative form of payment' to the household account card, which expired at the end of last month. I couldn't find my own either and remembered thatthe last time I'd used it was Saturday evening at Lidl. i thought I must have dropped it at home when I went through the receipt but chased it up anyhow. All Lidl stores are ex-dircetory so I rang national customer services and a very nice lady rang me back last night, confirming that my card is there. Phew! I'm off to pick it up now and take it straight into the bank to check for any recent transactions.

And while I'm in town I'm going to take a couple of things back to M&S fromt he sale. I'm hoping that these are affecteed by the 'no refund' clause that people have mentioned on here.

Job-wise, I've seen a couple of vacancies that are right up my alley now, so I'll need to get a wriggle on and apply for those. I'm going to ring my old supply teaching agency later too, to ask if they have a day here or there for the time being.

Have three machine loads of washing on the line outside and the dishwasher is loaded ready to go.

Need to go collect my prescription and might see how I stand to get appointment at hairdressers.

Going to Newcastle tomorrow to see DD(18) at uni and DD(13) wants to take four friends to cinema and lunch on Saturday for her birthday!

Only the third day of avoiding bread and I feel a lot less bloated. Have decided not to look at what the scales say an just gradually go down a dress size at a time.

Basically there are two shifts which are covered by two people, and because the other person (who's been made my senior) wanted my shift, she got it, as she's the boss's favourite. I asked again for my contract on Friday and apparently there was no one at Head Office to answer the query. I know they're holding off, cos they're worried I won't sign, which will amount to unfair dismissal and they know I'd take action. However, if I don't get a new contract, it amounts to breach of contract, so they can't win either way.

On the good front, I've found three jobs to apply for this morning, one in London, one in Brighton and one in West Sussex somewhere. So hopefully something will come up.

Also I've lost 2lbs this year - another 16 to go!!

I would suggest you write a letter stating the dates you asked for a contract and setting them a time limit until when you expect to have a contract.

Sort this out - if you don't have anything in writing it will be difficult...
  • Hester - how can you live with such person - you are a saint!

I just quit my job! DH has a new job which is better paid than mine, so we change roles I am staying home with DD (and do translations) and he goes back to work - My last day is the 1st of Feb. Boss was gutted, but it is better that way.

I am going to make a Miso Pate tonight, looking forward to that. other than that going to do some work and start working on my hand over, get some fruit from Aldi and have a quick look at the charity shop!

Hope you all have a good day!

    Morning!

Will go to work at 4 til 10. I am so glad for a full day off yesterday - we got all of our wood chopped and stacked in the wood shed :j

OH has been talking to HMRC this morning about registering as self employed - what a nightmare! It was very much a case of 'computer says no', even though he gave them every address he has ever lived at, and every job hes ever had!!! Then he rang the SW branch and it was all sorted in 5 minutes! Apparently its because HMRC never update their records - I like the way that as an individual, you have to make sure that everything is in perfect order otherwise they fine you, but they just never bother changing your record - maybe we should try fining them???

Anyway, he has gone to work now and has an appointment with the neuropsychologist later (about his head - hopefully we will get some answers this time). Oh and he has also been payed his next weeks wages early - because yesterday he refused to go out to work again until he knew he was actually going to be paid for it all (as it really was getting ridiculous the amount of times they kept delaying it), he caused a great furore in the office apparently! They soon got their act together though :)

So, I have done the washing up, and will just hop in the shower, then possibly finish the ironing (only got 2 duvet coves to do).

Scuzz When you leave your job, I hope you really f**k your bosses over the way they are doing to you. Take them for everything they have got - they sound like a bunch of c**ts :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Morning!

Just in from walking the puppy and enjoying a lovely coffee from the brilliant coffee machine dd bought us for Christmas with vanilla syrup yum! I am a bit worried about how much electricty these use to keep coffee hot  must go check meter as I could decant the coffee and pop it into a flask. Never thought I would bother about this until I started the living on £4000 challenge but with the thought of gas and elec going up I will have to change my ideas!

I spent yesterday sorting out my larder and feel much better now it's tidied up and I can find stuff. Most of my tupperware is now in use as well as recycled coffee jars.
We won't starve this month anyway!

Hope everyone is well and (((hugs))) to those who are not or are feeling down.

Catowen - great news about your blood results!

Shez and Bgn Rzl - have fun and have a glass of red for me!

Hester - I agree - you are destined for sainthood!

Kathy - I too am in 2 minds about the energy saving bulbs, I have replaced about half to energy saving ones and they do last longer although not so bright but have heard that they can trigger migraines so with dd's migraine attacks I will need to consider this as well as the mercury probs. I suspect just turning off lights as we leave a room has made a big difference to our savings;).

Off to set the timer for tonights prog!

    Catz x
