Good morning.. this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 09/01/08. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Morning All
Two Morning on the trot, but I am an hour ahead of the UK.
Hope you had a great holiday N9eav - you must be jet lagged or would have beaten me here.
Hope the weather has not been/is not too bad for you Twink/Kyle/GB (an anyone else "up north" or suffering the storms). Glad everything went as good as it could for you yesterday too.
Quiet day yesterday, very cloudy but dry and not particularly cold, DH felt "carp" probably the 5 pints the night before had something to do with it (not a drinker my DH). He did enjoy them at the time, but won't do it again for a year or so as he always suffers (he makes too much acid and it upsets his stomach). Put a load of washing in last night before we went to bed so I can get it out as soon as the rest wake up and the sun gets out bed (says she hopefully!). Friends here for lunch, going to make it a buffet/tapas style, as can't seat 8 of us easily. I have loads of tinned fish in the cupboard so that we will do some of it, v. large prawns are currently under 7€ a kilo with the shells on, so will get some of those, together with cheese/pate which is in the fridge, and bread and a bowl of salad. Tinto verano to drink, much lighter (and less alcoholic than sangria) they do one made with gaseoso (a cross between fizzy water and lemonade with 0 calories), and I will mix it with 50% gaseoso so OK for drivers.
Amie - glad DD is feeling better - yes unwinding nicely, I am sat down here listening to DH snoring his head off - good job I am a heavy sleeper! I know its crazy but I do like this "me" time.
OK cheap rate about to end here, so have to go. Second coffee coming up.
(((hugs))) to anyone under the weather or would just like one.
Take care all, DG

Good morning donny-gal and all who follow,
Busier day for me today, have 2 LOs here (HURRAH) so that will mean eyes in the back of my head - but i dont mind.
Not many plans for today, could make biscuits, but will prob end up doing colouring instead, less mess and one of the LOs burnt his hand on the oven (not mine, at his house, i dont let them in the kitchen unless im in there as well) so now he is scared of it, so dont want to make him worse.
Took a stew out of the freezer yesterday, so will be having that for dinner tonight, will be eating early as DS has football training tonight, so nice to have something already ready.
BM and WM need to be put on, and thats it in my exciting life!!!
((HUGS)) to anyone who needs one,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Morning All
Feeling so, so tired today. Worked it out, I've been on early mornings for 10 months straight now and it's really taking its toll on me. I'm constantly tired. I don't know how much more I can take. It would be different if I'd have applied for this position are asked to be put on it, but I specifically asked for them to honour my contract for the late shift which starts at 10am, which they ignored and told me I was now on this shift. (Still no sign of a new contract confirming any changes to my original role or for me to sign in agreeance:mad: )
Lots of lovely samples have arrived through the letter box this week. Nivea and horlicks so far. Was meant to be seeing a friend later to have a baking session with her and her toddler, but the little boy's not well, so it may have to wait until next week.
Off to Mr T later for a few basics. Would pop to Co-op, but as I need petrol, may as well get more useful loyalty points!!:D Also have to look for some jeans for the same little one who's ill.
Speaking of jeans. the same friend (I promise I have more than one!) gave me a pair she no longer wants - they fit:T - and a pair of brown trousers, which Mum's moved into, so that was good. I've got some colouring stuff my neighbour found which used to belong to her grandkids, but she's now given me for the little boy. Also gathering up used jiffy bags for her to package up her ebay sales.
Right, off to do daily clicks
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

I have to be quick on here this morning, the lodger was burning fish & doing a load of ironing last night & I need to clear up all the mess before I go to work. I don't want to come back to it all after work.
Have a good day.
Hugs Hester

Good day everyone
Up with the TD dryer on (again! will I ever catch up with it all?)
Got to go into town to the optician this morning, my glasses broke just before christmas and I took them in and they were sent away to be mended (still under guarantee as only started wearing glassd in June). Got a call yesterday to say those frames aren't made anymore so will have to choose another pair! So that's gonna be more waiting and my eyes are getting very tired!!
Then the car has to go in for a service so I will be in a village for 2 hours with not much to do except wait for the bill (over £300!).
Will try again to do some housework today, then get kids from school, take them swimming cook quick past meal for tea then I am having my first weigh in of 2008 which will be really scarey!!
Hope you all have good dys andhope things improve Scuzz xxx0 -
PS Don't forget Martin's new show at 7.30 tonight on channel 5 Lillibet fom this board will be on it!!!
I'm very excited told hubby I would be seeing some of my fiends on the telly!0 -
Morning
Amie, glad you are having free-range chicken - I watched Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall last night, and have vowed to try to use free-range from now on.
Got to do battle with Debenhams later, I ordered a steam generator iron and a steamer in their online sale, but they cancelled the iron and said they were just sending the steamer. I cancelled the order, and bought a steamer from Aldi (bigger and better) and yesterday the Debenhams one arrived
Something with chicken for tea, but not sure what yet. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Good morning everyone,
I'm off to work in a minute, but I hope you all have a good day. I've done something mysterious to my back which means more painkillers from the doctor, and Mr Cranky being in charge of providing domestic order in Cranky world.
He was a bit mystified that the clean sheets weren't ironed this morning as he was intending to change the beds later :rotfl:
Take care all of you0
