  • Thats what I had.
  • Yes, the cancellation e-mails have arrived, claiming that the items were out of stock, which of course is not true, because the same Marketplace seller now has them in stock for much higher prices.

Now, I would be quite happy to let this go if Amazon can come up with a reason why I should, but just to lie about it seems poor to me.
  • You are right there, why lie when you can see it in black and white.

You will see on your Amazon account that the order has been deleted.
  • I too received the email from amazon blaming stock levels for the cancellation of my order and, like many others, have found out that this is a blatent lie, as e and g direct have now relisted the product at a considerably higher price.

I have telephoned amazon pointing this out, and they are investigating the seller. I recommend that anyone who has experienced this to do the same - if we all do it, we may find that amazon force them to honour their prices (or disallow them from future selling).

Fingers crossed... I was looking forward to my bargain!
  • Contact the seller directly via Amazon's messaging system. If they don't respond or fob you off - make sure you leave appropriate feedback.
  • I too received the email. As someone else stated, it seems that Amazon / E & G would rather lie about the mistake than be open an honest about it.

I think that by lying about it, they have left themselves open to further attack. If they had just been honest and said 'we made a mistake, and you won't revceive your order or be charged for it', I would have been happy to let it go.

But, in that email they have blatantly just told a bare faced lie, and it has got me slightly annoyed! But on the other hand, I think there is sod all we can do about it. I may try and ring up, but I'm not getting my hopes up!

Never mind, it was worth a shot!
  • [FONT=verdana,arial,helvetica][SIZE=-1]Amazon Marketplace T&Cs:

3.3 The seller's listing of an item for Fixed Price Sale constitutes an offer to each participant to purchase the item at that price and the act of clicking on the "buy" button by a participant constitutes acceptance of that offer. Such acceptance will become effective on receipt by the Site of such act. A seller may retract an item listed for Fixed Price Sale at any time but is bound by any offers accepted prior to the retraction.

...and as for leaving the negative feedback, it's not possible to leave feedback as they've cancelled our orders....

Yes, I can see how to leave feedback?

Amazon not much help after I just called them - they just said re-order.
Expect E & G to get a lot of feedback flack unless they come up with a sweetener!
  • First ever contribution so here goes.

Kate has picked up the exact term and condition that applies to these purchases. They are legal obligued to fulfil the orders as there is a contract. It is not acceptable that they say they have not got stock (which we all know is a lie).

I am of the mind that if they had said "we made a mistake sorry" I would have let it go but when companies bulls**t consumers to try and cover up thier mistake this is not acceptable.

Also it has been pointed out the cancellation of the order means that we cannot leave negative feedback. Unless you can place an order for a small item leave negative feedback and then cancel it? Maybe a plan?

Next move will be to mail them the 3.3 term that they should abide by. If not I feel a watchdog moment coming on.
