As in #124 it has happened again lol
Ordered a DVD last night then got an email from Amazon price watch today saying it had gone down in price by 50p, so I emailed Amazon and I will be getting the 50p back.
I must say that Amazon are great with sorting things out fast. Great service.0 -
Would you believe it! The same DVD has decreased in price yet again.
8th April £13.98
9th April £13.48
11th April £11.48
Yes, Amazon have sorted out the difference, so saved £2.50 so far....maybe it will go down again, lol0 -
As of 1st September 2008, Amazon no longer have this price promise for things that have increased in price since they were sent to you. :mad:0

Have you got a link to this information please0

Annoyingly this is true - I bought an mp3 player on Sunday and the price dropped five pounds on Monday so I followed the steps and asked for a refund. I've just received the following mail:Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.
The discounts we offer for items on our website do vary from time to time. I've checked your order #xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and found that we now offer a greater discount on " Sansa Fuze 8gb Black" than at the time you placed your order.
Unfortunately, we cannot extend a refund to you for the difference between the original price and the lower price you saw posted on our website.
While we don't always beat the best available price on every product, we do offer deep discounts on many thousands of items. From time to time, prices on some items will change due to special offers from suppliers and manufacturers or our inventory and sales volumes. When we can offer a lower price for new purchases we will, but we cannot extend these discounts to completed orders.
Please note that only orders placed on or before September 1, 2008 are eligible for a price difference refund under the Post-Order Price Guarantee policy. However, we do continue to offer our Pre-order price guarantee.
If you have any further questions, you can contact us at the following link:

I am sorry for any disappointment that this may cause. I hope you'll be able to take advantage of the many discounts we offer on your next visit to our store.
Thank you for shopping at Amazon.co.uk.
Please let us know if this e-mail answered your question:
I'm not impressed given the price dropped around the time the item was being dispatched, not three weeks later or similar. I hadn't realised this had been withdrawn as that's one of the reasons I went with Amazon.

I am soooo annoyed I got caught out by this one too. I hadn't realised they had changed this policy after using it successfully a couple of times. It has really put me off ordering at Amazon in the future as their prices jump around all of the time and now there is no way of getting the difference back.0

Would like to again bring it to attention that this offer has expired, it would be a good idea to make this very clear in the first post, as this is the first google result for amazon price promise so is an authority of sorts!
I've just lost out on a few quid as I didn't realise this had stopped either0 -
do you not have 7 days in which to return goods under the distance selling act? so if it changes in under 7 days, send it back and order it for a cheaper price?0
-
Would be possible but its an LCD TV, dropped by £9 and I think postage would be more than this, shame but never mind!0

You can still get a good deal if you can wait a bit. I put all the items that I'm interested in into my basket, I then check everyday and Amazon always alert you to changes. If the price goes down and you are happy buy then, if not wait a bit. (things can go up too). This only works if in stock at the time. I did this with several DVDs and books and saved a few quid with tactical purchasing. If it doesn't go down then look elsewhere
I saved a fortune last year with the price promise, I guess they have hit their credit crunch. :cool:0
