I've been to the Guildford market which was nice - not massively big but pretty in the cobbled high street. The cathedral usually has carols.

This looks nice - not overly religious if that's not your thing but in aid of a very good cause.

Winchester market is lovely, in the cathedral grounds but quite expensive. There is a nearby light up trail at Harold Hillier gardens which we I tend to go to this year. I’ve heard very good things about it.

I think we’re leaning towards Winchester just because it’s bigger, I’ll look into the garden light trail thanks ☺️

Quiet weekend, we had some friends over for a mini dinner party. First time I’ve drunk alcohol since Christmas… it’s a weird thing making seemingly innocuous choices that could be seen as poor after cancer. You feel guilty for having a glass of wine 🥴 Lovely evening though

Quiet few days, muddling through work and home.
Finances doing ok, £337 to last 9 days until payday, no budgeted spends left so should be fine. I feel like we’ve been a bit frittery this month but haven’t got the motivation to rein it in. Need to rediscover my mojo for budgeting!

you are doing great! I always find this bit of the payday to payday cycle a bit tedious. I've usually front loaded spending so the various pots are a bit depleted and there aren't many odds and ends of cash to send to savings. I'm not complaining as I appreciate having enough money to enjoy life, I'm just saying that the week before payday is a bit static. Mind you, in the past the week before payday was desperate so static is a definite improvement 🙃

Thanks blackcats… yes, our outgoings are definitely front loaded. Then we have a couple of weeks where we think we have plenty to last the month. The final week, we’re like ‘oooo, bit tight to get to payday!’

Thanks Dakota… yeah, it should be. Although I went into town with my middle child today and managed to spend £40 in N@ndos and another £60 on random bits for her 😂

It’s such an easy place to eat, QR code to order. We had starters, a shared platter and a pud, very tasty.

Quiet day today, NSD. I filled my petrol tank up yesterday and I’m sure it’s got more expensive. I must admit, I don’t really shop around as we have a petrol station 5 mins drive away but it never used to cost £80 to fill up 🤢. Well within budgeted spends as we’re driving less than usual, but still rude. It has M&S stuff within it too, that’s even more dangerous, trying not to grab packs of Percy pigs while in the queue 😂

Appointments are starting to pick up again prior to surgery… preop, ultrasound, nuclear medicine etc. It’s a shame it can’t all be booked on the same day to get it all done in one fell swoop, but it’s all good.
