Tough call but I don’t think you can put a price on a week with his dad given he’s 80. I’m sure DH will enjoy some aspects of it even if he’s not keen on fishing.

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪
  • A few months ago, DD got a part time job alongside her A-levels at a posh-ish supermarket beginning with the letter W. She gets her discount card this weekend and as parents we get one too… could be expensive, not so much at W as we wouldn’t do our weekly shop there. But getting discount at JL (favourite shop!) is very, very dangerous for my bank balance 😂

Oh nice perk.to have. We dont have said supermarket where we live (def not posh enough). When daughter went to drama school to do her degree within the 1st couple of weeks went there to get groceries because her coursemate had been and said 'the prices were ok' (I shop in Aldi!). I decided to let this one play out, she returned shell shocked. She'd failed to take into account that coursemate's parents were top lawyers and coursemate had been privately educated at the same school a famous childrens author had sent hers to. My daughter never returned in the whole 3 years she lived there - lol.

I sometimes have a MrW delivery and buy a lot of their essentials range. Delivery drivers are excellent and even offer to help put away as well as unloading.

  • I think if you stick to their essentials range, they’re not too bad. I’m tempted to do a side by side with our usual @sda delivery and see how much it would be. Discount is 20% so might not be a massive difference.

We have one 10 mins walk away and it has got a nice vibe to it, staff are friendly etc

JL discount is 25% even off their price matches 😳, roll on Black Friday for Christmas shopping. Although do I spend the same amount on people and enjoy the discount/saving or increase budget to reflect discount?? 🤔🤔

  • Bless her 😂 we usually do an online @sda shop. We have a Lidl nearby and kids love it if we pop in as I don’t really care what they pick up whereas I very much keep an eye in Mr W 😳

Ooh I live too far North to be allowed anywhere near a W or JL, feel like I might have to curtsy before posting on your diary now in case I lower the tone 😂

Definitely make the discount work in your favour though, use the savings for a treat for you & DH? Or put the savings in your Pixie dust account so others get the benefit?
