I forgot to say, I checked my car oil, coolant, and windscreen wash on the weekend. There weren't even any warning lights on!!
Today I did some housework and it feels like downstairs is cleaner than it has been for about 3 months. I even cleaned the glass panels in the living room door.
Tradie didn't turn up to do the measurements, he said maybe tomorrow.

I topped up my windscreen wash the other day. No warning light as my car doesn't do those but it was easy to know it was needed as there was nothing spritzing out. But you've reminded me that my OH's car, which does have warning lights, was signaling that it is thirsty. I'll have to let him know.

3 OATs tackled yesterday as I booked eye tests for OH and I and a dentist check-up for me. All over 6 months overdue. I also called my bank and removed our old landline number. We got rid of that several years ago now
Today's OAT is to try and update the phone numbers my father's bank has for him. Ingredients needed are a father, a key fob, a phone and patience to speak to the bank. I will try and pick the right father and the right bank. :)

Absolutely thrilled that I was able to pick 2 tomatoes from one of my plants for salad last evening. That makes 4 so far and there's a lot more coming on. At this rate I might even stop buying tomatoes as we/I go through a lot of them as they get used for many breakfasts and dinner. Will be buying some more burrata to have when some of the larger ones ripen.

There is nothing better than homegrown tomatoes, they taste amazing! This year I have only grown a few moneymaker plants - they are laden with fruit, but they are still very green - and half a dozen cocktail cherry tomato plants, some red, some yellow. These little cherry tomatoes are ripening very well, a handful a day, but I just stand in the greenhouse and scoff them like sweets. Not one has made it back to the kitchen yet.
My task for today was to finish weeding the front garden. It has been a Herculean task as the borders had become over-run with nettles and thistles during last year’s period of grief/neglect but I’m nearly finished now and I am so proud of myself. I’ve taken 12 x 1-tonne builders bags full of nettles to the tip during July, I’m on first name terms with the staff there now 🤣. Some ragwort had made its way into one flower border and whilst the bees and butterflies love it and it’s a cheerful bright yellow colour, I do know it’s very bad for horses and my neighbour keeps her horse in the field next to my house. I didn’t want to risk any ragwort going to seed and spreading, so it has all been pulled up and loaded into the builder’s bag. I’ve booked an appointment slot at the tip for first thing tomorrow morning, so I do feel as though I have achieved something today. It’s so much easier now the temperature has dropped a little.

I'm off work for 32 days now 🥳 and planning on doing an OAT a day to keep chaos away! Or at least rein it in a little 😂 Yesterday I put away all the paperwork for thr new car, and pulled up some dandelions from the path and pot by the back door. Today I started scything the field - only one row so far but I did none last year so already an improvement 😂
