Can't help you with the illuminated buttons but we have found that the BT Freelance XD 1500 Trio works very well indeed. We have very thick walls and have three floors and no problems with reception now. However we do have problems with doorbells! If anyone can recommend a wireless system we would be obliged.

I have a Philips Dect system (4 handsets and an answer machine) - the quality and reception are fantastic, however they are not very user friendly.
They will happily work through the old walls and into my car if I am working on it when it is parked about 50 yards away from the house.
They buttons are not huge or illuminated but my reason for mentioning is the make - in this case Philips - seems to be very good for range.

For a door bell try one of these - I have bought two (not both for me) and the only issue is making sure you have decent batteries in them - replace them roughly once a year

We have an old house with very thick walls (an old police station (1854) actually) and despite paying quite a lot of money for various doorbells, none of them can penetrate from the entrance door through the kitchen, then one door into the living room, never mind through to upstairs! We bought one with flashing lights and all the biz but it's useless! Before we spend yet more money and find we have wasted it, could you please tell me if you have first hand knowledge that this sort definitely do work through thick walls! We bought an old 'time' bell from the local pub when it closed but can't hear it upstairs - and it's a bit unkind to neighbours!!! Sorry if I have hijacked this thread a little bit but we have loads of visitors who can't let us know they are there if we are not just in the kitchen!

My current phone has gone caput. Are their any that have 2 base units and caller display, reasonably cheap? I havent got caller display at the moment, but it would be useful.I only use it inside the house, don't need a particularly long range.

I've always been happy with Panasonic products. They do one that matches your requirements. Not only do they have Caller ID but you can store numbers and have different ring tones for friends/family etc. You can even record your own "ring message" so it shouts out "hi, it's me, pick up the phone" etc.

Make sure you've enabled caller ID with your phone supplier. Finally we switched to Virgin from BT and their caller ID displays the numbers with a hyphen whereas BT didn't. This has fooled our pre stored ring tones a couple of times.

I hope someone can help me, I am looking for a cordless dect type phone (ideally 3 handsets) with a vibrate function, so as not to wake the baby! I am fed up with the phone ringing just as she get to sleep! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

need a new phone old one is broken can't dial any number if there is a two in it!!!

been looking at loads and like the Bt diverse 6250, I like the way it displays the number of messages (same as the one I am using now)

Does anyone have one of these is it good or bad? or do you have a better suggestion - not keen to spend more than £50 but could for a good one

also has anyone purchases from telephones online as I had never heard of them before I started searching

    Thanks

Can anyone recommend one. Ideally I would like it to have an answer phone too if such a thing exists.
