Can anyone recommend a good telephone.
We need a telephone with an answer machine pref wired one plus one other cordless needed
Purchased one from argos but the sound quality on the answermachine was very poor,
Is there anywhere you can try out the telephones before you buy ?
this is the one i got from argos

No recomendation, but if I was buying new phones I would make sure battery life is long.

We have a Phillps set, very good on battery.

We also have Panasonic set and well, battery life sucks.

Next I would look for ease of use.

The battery life i know why thats important as there is nothing worse than picking up an important call and the battery run out half way through a call

It can be a blessing in disguise as it cuts down your phone bill:rotfl:

Anyway thats one of the reasons i would like the base unit to have a wired handset and a seperate cordless one also,

We do have a fax machine which we sometimes use so if it had one of them as well would be ok

I thought all the panasonic telephones were the best at the moment,

as with all the BT telephones i have noticed a special button to ring there services and im with virgin so a waste of time for me and it would confuse the kids.

    Any thoughts

  • I am looking for a set of (2 or 3) cordless telephones, an integrated answephone would be useful, but not essential. They are to be a present for my husbands parents, so not too complicated if possible, and obviously, in true ms fashion, as cheap as poss.

Depends how old they are. BT Freestyle 6300 isn't cheap but it has a base and 2 cordless handsets and one extra charger. Large buttons and quite large displays on the handsets and really large on the base. Also works totally hands free. Just bought one and it's brilliant.

  • Thanks have looked at those, they look good , but didn't want to pay that much. My in-laws are in their seventies, As long as the basic functions on the phones are striaght forward they will be ok.

  • I have tried all the argos stores around for these BT 1500 twin and they are out of stock everywhere. Pity! They seem ideal.
