I've been reading an article on BTs new range of cordless home phones which they say can cut energy consumption by 30%.
What level of cost saving are we talking about here? (We have 3 handsets in house)0 -
My mother had the same problem and we came to the conclusion after trying several cordless phones that none were as good as a normal corded phone.Alot of the phones have amplifiers for the handsfree speaker but they don't amplify the earpiece. The Panasonic one may may work but seems very expensive purchase if it doesn't make any difference0

According to BT.."BT's new range of more energy efficient phones save up to half the amount of energy* costing you less "
* This claim is substantiated by tests of the Freestyle 610 and Freestyle 650 with new power supply units. Studies show savings of up to half the amount of energy consumption compared to power supply units previously used. Proof on file. BT Graphite 1100 and 1500 phones have been supplied with new power supply units from new.

Thanks I hadn't seen this article, only one in a magazine. If this is the case, I'll hold off buying until later in the year when there may be more choice of phone. Or maybe not if I see the low energy phones on special offer anywhere.0 -
