On a more serious note, if anyone finds a solution I'm interested. I did find losing weight and stopping smoking improved it, but it's still a problem.

The sleep-watch thing in Lloyds I mentioned on the previous page works for me, I don't smoke anymore but am still overweight. Best tenner I've spent in a long time.

Tried to find it on their website, but can't. IT's on the shelf beside the blood pressure monitors, tens machines, pedometers etc. Blue box about the size of a paperback book.;)

  • Well I have cured my snoring, it's down to diet!

I am on a restricted diet via a nutritionist for reasons other than snoring, and ever since I started the nutrition programme, my DH says I've stopped snoring!

The nutitionist puts it down the dairy products which makes total sense as I would always get a more blocked nose/mucus production whilst on dairy.

However I have also given up far more than diary so it could be any of those.

I am otherwise very healthy, slim and exercise enough. For overweight people, I can understand a link nutritionally as generally a diet consiting of high fat foods (including chocolate - dairy) will create extra mucus production.

Perhaps try cutting out dairy for a two weeks and see. I have been on soya milk for the last 10 years so just replacing that didn't stop the snoring, but had it through cheese, cream, chocolate etc. Unfortunately loads of other foods contain dairy - read the labels.

This would be a doubly good money saving way - as cheese is extortionately expensive. Replace with soya products and get your calcium through nuts, seeds and green leafy vegetables.

This is going to sound so daft but..
2 years ago our bedroom got really hot in the summer.. cos of the weather honest:confused:
Got hubby to install a fan with lights over the bed.
I noticed that when the fan was on he didn't snore, but when I switched the fan off it started again?
Over the past 2 years this really has worked .. he snores , I switch on fan, he stops??? :j

I shouldn't laugh, just have visions of you at the switch...turning it on and off loads of times to see him wriggle about. :rotfl:

Apologies if already mentioned but I don't have time to read the whole thread - there is a new injection which can cure snoring in many cases. Apparently it shrinks the fleshy flappy thingy. Sorry for rubbish description but I heard them discussing it on radio and was half listening.

I am sure if you google it, it will come up. They mentioned £3 per injection. The stop snoring manufacturers are not going to like it if it does work!

OH snores, not just through his mouth. He tries to breathe through his nose but that goes weird too and he ends up half-choking and snoring again. Luckily I'm so used to having very bad nights sleep (I have constant recurring nightmares and have done for the past few years I just don't care anymore. Unless it's in my ear
