Where to keep your card?

Main CC is in my back pocket, with phone and wallet in front pockets. I find it easier to use the card, but if I was the kind of person who always had their phone in hand I expect I would use that.
I do use my phone when abroad as contactless doesn't work, still take card as phone doesn't always work where card does.Let's Be Careful Out There0 -

One poster trims them, with scissors I expect.
I assumed when that poster said 'trim' they meant the number of cards they carried, not that they got the scissors out.

ID now required to be shown at my local Council's Waste tip (sorry.. recyling center!).

If that was me - yes that's exactly what I meant. On holiday I take 3 that give charge-free foreign transactions and another couple as back-ups and leave the rest in a drawer at home.

Wallet, along with a £10 note, just in case it's needed.

Went shopping with Mrs UKX this morning and stopped in the supermarket to pick up a few things. Went to the self checkout and by mistake she clocked into a cash only machine. I didn’t have my wallet but luckily she had some cash in her purse which is unusual for her. 😅

I rarely use cash but if I need some I use the NatWest "get cash" facility in their app. You tell it how much cash you want and the app gives you a one time pass code that expires in 3 hours. You go to a NatWest cash machine with no card and no phone and use your OTP and it spits out the cash. Kind of scary, but kind of brilliant.

Not a good idea. Imagine if your wallet is stolen and the thief has access to your card details AND home address, birthdate and so on. I only carry my driving license for a specific purpose where I know I am going to need to confirm my ID.

I went to Sainsbury's a couple of days ago only to find I had neither phone, cards nor cash on me! Very frustrating.

Depending o how the consultation goes, your ID may be on your phone soon as well. Many countries require ID to be carried all the time.
